i always wonder with these layered sounds videos; which comes first? the visuals? or the sounds? either way, it's fantastically edited and very creative. love it.
usually when i edit asmr i do these videos first then add up the sounds later :-)
I think it depends on which ASMRtist you ask. Some will do the video first -> then edit the sound later, but at the same time time, some prefer to do the audio first, then they will make a video later, make sure that both the sound and the visual are synced well (for example, if they make the brushing sound first, then later on, they must do the brushing movements that match well with the audio)
So yeah, both are valid answers.
Visuals coming first would def be wayyy easier. Adding audio is basically post production, and you can record as many times as you need to match the movement, while an uncut video footage of you trying to perform these movements that match your 1 second audio is pointless
