Warhammer 40,000 is a franchise by Games Workshop, and the most popular miniature wargame in the world. The new video game, Space Marine 2 kicks off after the return of Roboute Guilliman, one of the superhuman "Primarch" sons of the Emperor and leader of the Ultramarines, and in the middle of the Imperium's Indomitus Crusade to reclaim lost worlds from its alien enemies, including the Tyranids. In Warhammer 40k's grimdark setting, humanity is locked in constant, impossible wars with many other enemies including Orks, Necrons, and the evil Chaos Gods (including Khorne, Tzeentch, Slaanesh and Nurgle).

Looks like we’re getting a new album boys. For the Emperor
Jon's entire catalog is outstanding, but this is the song I just can't get out of my head. The combination of naval/military march motifs and heavy guitar riffs represents the Imperium's obsession with regimentarion and control, but also the visceral joy of taking down an army of demons with a chain sword. In a word, it's perfect.

Lets hope they don't convince Games Workshop to change it anymore than they already have, that retarded trans custodes was GW bending the knee to Amazon because Amazon demanded that their 40k prime show needed to be more inclusive. That kind of shit turns your IP into an unrecognizable skin suit of itself, full of politically motivated "lore changes" that clash with your setting until its self contradictory 2024 california gibberish, in search of a modern audience that doesn't exist. Star Wars, Halo, Last Of Us 2, Marvel are but a few recent examples of amazing IP that has been taken hostage by activists and turned into dog shit that nobody watches and I don't want to see the IP I've loved for 25 years get raped and left in the gutter because tourists decided it would be better if the emperor was a trans black lesbian and all the primarchs were gay, you know because representation.

- When the Elysian Guard arrived (Riff on Sabatons Winged Hussars, hard rock song about the bravery of daring Paratroopers)
- Pyre of Purety (Haunting Metal medly of the harrowing necessities involved in purging the mutant and the heretic from the hives)
- The Litany of Hate ( An inspiring Sermon of a Chaplain, listing the failings of the enemies of mankind in poetic DETAIL)
- The Sacrament of Flame ( Adeptas Sororitas Hymn, inspiring the fire of faith in humanity - so it can burn away the unclean)
- No Sacrifice in vain (Acustic Guitar - glimpse into the utterly futile fight of regular militia against an onslaught of Chaos, just to hold the line a few hours longer)
Don't forget about something for Krieg! maybe a war march sounding song could work?
Alternatively have some fun with every aspect of the game that isnt the imperium.

I think a Carolus Rex/Let There be Nothing style album (telling a story from beginning to end) would be 🔥
It could be from the rise of the Imperium to the end of the heresy. Starting songs would be hopeful and epic, at the middle it would turn angry and chaotic and the end would be melancholy and regretful
That style of linear storytelling is called a concept album, and yeah Jonathan doing a 40k concept album would fuck super hard. The sweeping operatic themes of the setting mesh absolutely perfectly with his style of metal.
Specifically a Badab War album would both be a perfect story to put in song form and a nice inclusion of lots of different space marine chapters. Though I am a bit biased, I do partially just want him to do a song about my beloved Carcharodons.
Concept album would be amazing, so very few of them, especially in this genre (at least to my knowledge, I welcome being corrected on this).
Though I feel like there is a ton of stuff about Horus Heresy already...
