How did I not know they were here in 2015. I live in SATX, and would have loved to see them perform. I started hearing them in the early 60's. Mom loved them, as well as the Coins, and others like them, and knew they're sound style was taken up by the Beach Boys. This Music is what I really Dig, among other styles, I will always listen to them anytime!
This new combination is really great. Extra smooth for sure.
Happy memories!
"Four Freshmen and Five Trumpets"
It's great, but I think it's too bad some younger people don't start digging the Freshmen. There is no more talented group in the world. About 5 or 6 years ago my wife and I attended a Freshmen concert and it was great. At that time we were in our mid 50's and we were the youngest out of the thousand or so there.
Simple Life sounded like a herd of elephants running through the room. It's clearly Curtis's group now featuring Bob. The 2010 - 2014 Freshmen with Brian at the helm had a better sound. This sound isn't unique or even reminiscent of Bob Flanigan and Ross Barbour. If it was a money thing, they should've backed up the Brinks truck for Brian
Curtis has left the group, but did fill in recently. Bob is the only one remaining from group 22. Agree with your assessment.
