You go girl. You will wonder why you didn’t do it sooner. I have a dear friend treated very badly. She left twice for a couple of weeks and went back. He yells at her to get out and go , but she doesn’t seem to have the strength to reach for a fresh start now in her 60s. It is a big bit frightening for her. Such a gentle lovely soul. Good luck.

For me this has been a literal storm.
The hurricane knocked down a dead tree into a fence I had been building.
I cut up a lot of the tree and burned it.
During this time I have reflected on the symbolism of having my fences blown away.
I have also had an unexpected opportunity of massive proportions come my way, as though the boundaries that had been my isolation were taken out.
Now I need to get past myself to take action on the work of art that I have before me.

What I learned from my experience is:
It gets easier. It does not require you to stop caring. The type of love you feel or felt can change without it actually ceasing to exist. And we can wish that person many blessings as we also stay true to ourselves. And it may be, if you both are ok with it, that as time heals the wounds of separation, you can be friends.
