Aisa kuch nahi hota, I have stayed in such PGs for fairly long, I respect Dadi ji but the true reality of Delhi and PGs is gruesome for all students I would say. Well-off ko bhi bhari pd jata hai kabhi kabhi.
I have seen students literally “staying” in libraries, khane peene se le kar sone tak.
It makes you to think what kind of maharaja service are they providing for 16k.
I am back at my hometown and trust me I don’t regret it all. Eventually You and your parents adjust with the environment you want to create, jiske liye PG jaate hain.
Main thing is discipline , Aur maa toh hai hi dhyaan rkhne ke liye ghar (for the time being you are preparing).
People making fun of these pgs saying "papa ki pari ka pg" dude all the other cheaper pgs still loot you and charge the same amount with stupis " miscellaneous charges ". And people saying "aise pg lene ki koi jaroorat nahi h remember self study is the best" it's totally upto you if you want to study in a good environment, in a good looking room and palce with comfortable surrounding and you can afford it then there is no problem with that.
Real story of upsc preparation in Delhi in short :-
First year - you will come from your hometowns and will be scared as well as excited about new city , new people , new environment , will be extremely focussed on studies, will follow coaching religiously and will be full of confidence that you'll crack upsc in first attempt only .
Second year - pre bhi nahi niklega ( in majoring of the cases ) , ek library join kar loge coz room me padhai nahi ho payega , coaching band ho chuki hogi , life boring hone lagegi to gf / bf bana loge , phir gf/bf ki entry nahi hui agar pg room me to room change karoge ( jaise ye dadi ka pg hai , koi bhi normal ladki yahan nahi rahegi coz bf allowed nahi hai ) , ab tak second attempt de chuke hoge and pre shayad nikal jaye ya na bhai nikle ( 50% chances hain )
Third year - gf / bf chor k chala jayega / jayegi because unke parents wapis bula lenge ya unka exam nahi niklega , aap new library join karoge , you'll feel lonely , ab self doubt start ho jayega , change k liye new library join kar loge aur koi current affairs ki faltu coaching join kar loge. Tests series lagwa loge , agar smart hue to mains de doge par high chances hain ki mains nahi niklega ...phir start hoga depression .
Fourth year - ab tak aap thak chuke honge , aapke college friends ab tak job par lag gaye honge and unki shaadi ho rahi hogi and aap abhi bhi kisi sade hue pg me struggle kar rahe hoge , parents se paise mangne me ab sharam ane lagegi , aap part time job seach karne lagoge kisi coaching me , depression se bahar ane k liye new gf/ bf banane ki puri koshish karte rahoge aur shayad kamyab bhi ho jao , daaru muh lag chuki hogi ab tak , self confidence ki thajjiyan udd chuki hongi , padh padh k dimag kharab ho gaya hoga , baal safed hona shuru ho gaye honge , second gf / bf bhi chale jainge par ab tak aap daba k sex kar chuke honge and CP ka kona kona ghum chuke honge , 60% log jo coaching me sath the unhone upsc chor diya hoga . Ab aap extremely frustrated ho jaoge
Fifth year - aap puri jaan laga doge , shayad interview tak bhi pohch jao aur 1% chance hai ki select ho jao , otherwise next round of depression to hai hi ane k liye . End me kisi choti government job k liye apply karke , ek tagda shot deke usme settle ho jaoge agar genuine candidate ho to ... otherwise Delhi me apni jawani daan deke , budhape ko sath leke apne hometown wapas ho loge khaali haath , lakho rupye ek sapne pe gawa kar
This is the story of 90% of students who come to Delhi for coaching . I m not demoralising but just giving you a true overview of how exactly the timeline looks like for upsc aspirants . So take your decisions wisely.

@Rajnish Mishra bro i understand.. coz i also come from a middle class family n preparing in Mukherjee nagar since last 4 years.. sometimes juz bcoz of low of ameneties,we had to spend more time in our preparation... facilities reduces ur prep time and therefore instead of spending money for 1 more year it wud be more good that u spend some extra money and clear the exam in the same year..dats wat i wanna say..

This pg hs so many facilities with 4 times food and a small gym near a basement + balcony+ microwave kitchen everything! Considering this i think 16k is perfectly balanced. Those who are saying it’s costly just go and search for a single room or PG with this much facility,you’ll hardly get any except few.
