She called me MIRACLE worker after finishing this Crazy RESCUE!!!

  • So, after driving around for 2 hours looking for a yard to clean up for free, I'd lucked out. After knocking on 3 doors, one wasn't home (been there about 4 time so far) and the other 2 said no to a free cleanup. Who says no to a free yard cleanup 🤷‍♂️. Anyway, I was driving around and I saw this property. I've already done a massive transformation here about a year ago, so I decided to knock on their door and see what was going on. The homeowners were away at a funeral and their daughter told me that the mower they bought after the last clean-up was broken, so they couldn't mow. I said, right, ok then, I'd better do your yard again! She said “excellent”, so we began. I later found out that the mower wasn't broken, it just didn't have any fuel or oil. Note: When you buy a new mower, you need to purchase fuel and oil separately. Sometimes they have a small oil bottle included, but always good to check 😉. After the rescue, I mentioned to the owner about a regular mowing service, and she was happy with the price (yes, I'm doing a few regular mows again). So this property will definitely be looked after moving forward. The quote included monthly mowing, weed spraying and rubbish removal. All up, I spent around 13 hours on this job, with 2 trips to the landfill.
Note: It looks like there was a problem in the editing department. There is only partial audio until the 9-minute mark!

    FAQ's:
    Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
    Q: What happened to Nick?
A: Nick was offered a full-time position at his other job as a Political admin.
    Q: What happened to Brent?
A: Brent quit at the start of August 2022.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷‍♂️.
Q: Why are you cutting so close to your employee?
A: I'm not cutting too close to my workers, they are standing too close to where I am working! All of my workers have been told numerous times about standing too close to the tools and about the hazards involved!
Q: Why do your workers do all the lifting and carrying?
A: Basically, they are employed to carry things and I pay them well, to do the job required.
Q: You work so well together, how do you do it?
A: That's the magic of editing. My workers are basically given instructions on what to do, I just edit it all out, so the videos look seamless!
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
    Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
    1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
    2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
    3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
    4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
    5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What happened to your workers?
A: Because the work is so hard and I expect high standards, most have quit over time. The only exception so far is Nick.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
    Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.
Q: Why do you have 2 channels that seem the same?
A: Quick Cuts (my original channel) has music in the background. Quick Cuts V2 is for those that like just machine noise, and it doesn't have music.

I absolutely love George’s Honda mower! That thing is a beast. I am always amused by the way it seems the clippings bag can hold such a huge amount of clippings, because he edits out most of the times he empties it. I rarely see American lawn people using a mattock, but George employs it on each video; a very useful tool. And the bramble eater is another great tool for this area. I am also impressed by his mowing technique, cutting high the first time, and coming back with the deck set lower, to do a finished job. Also, would kind of like to know what goes through his mind as he picks up all that trash; but, maybe I really don’t want to know. He does such a good job of explaining what to do about the weeds , to someone who knows very little about lawn care. Really glad they agreed to become a monthly customer. George will make sure, as long as he is on the job, that it never reverts to this stage again!

Great, great job like usual but sometimes, I think that some peoples don't deserve your help and hard work. Unbelievable quantity of garbage and all for free? I remember the first cleanup of this property and I was so happy for them and thankful to you. Now I think that laziness can't be rewarded. Kipp doing what you do best in helping peoples in real need. You are an angel and congratulations.

Happy belated New Year to you, George! Because you started this property from the driveway, I was a little slow picking up on what previous job this was. But as you headed around the front and toward the back, I suddenly recognized it. OMG. You called your first go-around a "massive" yard transformation. Jeepers. For once the word "massive" is an understatement in my opinion! Personally, I would include the links to that original transformation in your video description here so that newer members can have their jaws drop. The original job had to have been easily three times worse than this one (uh, except for those pesky brambles!). The vegetation in the back was so dense that it engulfed every walkway in the backyard. You could not walk between the garage and the backyard without a machete, it was that dense. Cripes, it took a whole series of videos to finish it, right? Man, I am delighted that the owners took you up on your offer to mow it monthly from now on for a reasonable fee. I'll bet the neighbors are delighted, too!!

Glad the residents agreed to get (your) lawn service. A lot of people get overwhelmed when things break down. It should be much easier/more accessible/normalized to bring your things in for repair - instead of just buying a new one, or letting things get worse and worse. The TRUE appreciation is probably from the neighbors! They don’t seem to have tried at all to maintain all the hard work you did for them. I would be frustrated. You can only help people so much - at some point they have to either pay someone or do it themselves.

Finding someone with your skill set to take care of a yard on a regular basis is so hard. Its no wonder they took your offer for regular maintenance. After a search going on 5 years last year I finally found someone who will come every 3 weeks to mow and trim the garden and take the waste to the dump. It is quite expensive but I save my money to have a well kept yard. Trouble is he is getting older and I know I will be on the search again in the near future. I found we have a Jim's franchise in town. I will give him a try - if he does half as good a job as you do I will be happy. I love watching your videos. Love Tassie used to be a favourite holiday destination when my hubby was alive. Thank you for all the time you take to edit these videos and make them so interesting. Continued success in all your ventures you deserve all the accolades that come your way.

Very nice job! I like how you rake up as you go. You had to do a lot of walking. Guess you're young and in good shape? The whole neighborhood is going to be really happy they don't have to look at that mess anymore! Mother Nature has a way of taking over. Every little crack in the concrete she sends up something green!

I am so happy that the client has now agreed to a regular service. I hope they spray those brambles, like you advised, so you wont have to rangle them again. It would be very interesting to see if the lawn in this yard becomes alot nicer with the regular mowing. I am also surprised that the brown fence is still standing, as it looked like it was ready to fall down last year😂

One of my top favorites channels, now in 4K. Awesome. About the owner... : when you get old, you don't care about many things - it's a kind of depression. At that age, she'll never stand over the Tasmanian Sun to mow a garden "that she doesn't uses" (air quotes). And there's the money factor also. When you buy a house, you definitely have to consider "gardening" as a regular mandatory expense - I guarantee a considerable percentage of people really don't think this way - they think is a luxury to have a groomed garden etc. It's insane! (health problems with insects, fire danger etc). Best wishes, much success from Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil o/

Thought I recognised that fence by the path George. That last visit was epic, as I recall. Brambles all the way to the shed at the back yes? I think it's great they agreed to a regular visit by you. Many might think forgetting fuel and oil was dumb, but if you're not mechanically minded then dumb is the wrong word. Easily done if you've never really bought anything like that before or suffered some form of MH where concentration distracts. The only ones to lose out this time round are those who said no to the best clean-up they'd ever get, mate. Now, that could be described as dumb, lol.

I know people who have absolutely no idea what needs to be done to anything with moving parts! They are not dumb, they just don’t have a mechanically minded bone in their body, and can’t figure out what to do. Their talents lie elsewhere. But they can frequently do things that leave me in awe of them.

@@leecarlson9713 Spot on. When I saw her on this video it was obvious she couldn't do something on that scale. Many people with MH or autism can do things most folk don't even realise. I saw a video of a guy with the latter who could hear something and play it back on a piano note for note. How amazing is that?
