I knew it had to have been Dan doing the Homer voice, it sounded pitch perfect to be just an impersonator. But when HE walked out of the bathroom stall with the outfit in his hands, and then remarking with “It’s the greatest feeling in the world”, it shot this feeling of awe through me. I kept replaying the part because it didn’t just sound like a line from his character, (Mr. Champion) but rather something genuinely from him. Homer is one of the last characters I would expect to be shown love from people alike, but the appreciation for character actors’ roles (Dan Castelanetta as Homer, Charles Martinet as Super Mario, Tom Kenny as SpongeBob, etc.) really shows why a lot of these character actors seem as if they will never retire from the roles of these beloved characters. Because the love and appreciation they are shown, for characters they’ve created and loved to play as for years, decades even, really has to be “the greatest feeling in the world”.
