I was getting frustrated mapping it until I listened when you said to click outside the field. I was triggering 3 pads at once lol. Thanks for the vids.
No problem, CG. Glad that the tut help with your mapping issue. Sometimes it's the littlest tips that can resolve issues that may be driving us crazy. Thanks for watching.
Hi, I need your help I can’t record impact on my tracks I can play the pads and get the sound but there’s no recording taking place, I have the track armed and the main record set to on. But no recording Help 👍
Do you have a video of how to record tracks with impact, because I press the record button and hit some instruments and nothing happening. I am new. Thanks!
How do you set the kick drum to its own track so i can go up and down the scale with it on my keyboard and have it play the notes of my bass line instead one flat kick?
How do I import a sound from one Impact drum kit into another Impact drum it? ... I tried locating it in Explorer and copying .. and (or) dragging it .. but it's not working.
Is there any reason to use Impact instead of Sampler? It always pollutes my channel setup whenever i load a preset and I have to kick the extra channels.
It's all a matter of preference. You could load a kick, snare, hat, etc. into individual sample ones, for instance. I just typically prefer to use Impact/MPC-style samplers when creating my tracks. As far as the extra channels that Impact creates, it seems that you already know how to deactivate them, but, when mixing your final song, it's typically bass to have all of your drum sounds on different channels.
Hi I want to keep the output settings in Impact the same ( sterio1 for B0, sterio2 for C1 etc) for every kit, but they change - is there a way to set them permanently?
I just tried to create a template with specific outputs for each cell, which is possible. But, unfortunately, once you change the kit, the output assignments still change. When you save your own trigger note settings as a default, these stay the same even after choosing new kits, but this sadly does not work with the outputs. The only other thing I can say is that when I did this test, I choose to save the specified outputs as "Store preset...". It may work if you instead choose "Store as Default Preset" instead. I just didn't want to change my default. You can store presets/store as default preset by clicking on the little paper icon with the folded corner in the upper left corner of Impact.
Did you ever get this figured out? Someone recently asked the same question here and it got answered. Just letting you know just in case you were still having the issue
Yes. In the top file menu of Studio One click on "Studio One" and then select "Studio One installation...". Within the window that pops up you can choose which content you'd like to download, including presets, samples, loops, etc.
I'm not sure how the MPC works, but if I'm understanding you correctly, there is not. You can hold "shift" on your keyboard and drag additional samples on to one pad, but the multiple samples will play back based on velocity, not "stacked". In the bottom right corner of Impact there is a layer mode where you can choose how the pad with multiple samples plays back, but again, I don't think there is an option for stacked. The latest version of Impact (XT) does have this option.
Wow! Your processor is pegging out every few seconds! That's horrible for audio production. If I were you, I would try to get that fixed. My last computer had a similar problem and it caused huge problems with clicks and pops and audio engine drop out's in Sonar. Try running the program called "Latency Monitor" then go into the processor page and watch how your processor cores are acting. Hope you get it fixed. Thanks for the video's!!!

The info around 6:00 is very useful with sending the pads to different outs. I use impact for drums and this makes mixing a breeze!

When using the tune knob, will the sample length change?
Great Work!
Appreciate it, Wade. Thanks for watching!
How do you set the kick drum to its own track so i can go up and down the scale with it on my keyboard and have it play the notes of my bass line instead one flat kick?
I would put the kick in Sample One for that.
Very helpful. Thank you.
No problem. Thanks for checking out the tutorial.
Hey how do you tune the drums if needed?
Um....how do you record them into the track???
You can use a MIDI controller, draw them into the MIDI editor, or use your QWERTY keyboard to record them.
Love using S1. But impact needs more development..
Agreed. And I don't think it would take too much to make it more useful.

Here's a bit I did on that: th-cam.com/video/ev2yfgorBm4/w-d-xo.html

Why I don't have Impact in my studio one, where is it?
Impact is not included in the free "Prime" version of Studio One. Perhaps that is the issue if you are using it...

If you're using Studio One Prime, it's not included. Otherwise you should see it listed in the Instruments tab of the browser.
