The fact that people on here are saying she got what she deserved really is disturbing. First of all, no woman who is in an abusive or neglectful situation deserves to be murdered and mutilated. But besides that, if you look at the timeline, their entire marriage wasn't like that. He only became distant with her after his mother died, because he blamed her for his mother's death. And since she was 2 months pregnant when that happened and 5 months pregnant when she passed, that means that they were only having difficulties for 3 months of their marriage. Grief can do terrible things to people, including shifting the blame where the blame doesn't belong, which is exactly what he did.. in no way does that excuse his horrible treatment of his wife, but it does explain how their relationship fell apart. If you're with somebody for a number of years, and they start acting a certain way for only a couple of months, of course she's not just going to up and leave him. Especially when she's carrying his child. She was probably hoping they could work things out. If he had gone into therapy, and had time to process his grief properly, then their marriage probably could have been saved. Or at least, they could have separated amicably and successfully co-parented. But obviously, that never happened. I really have to give the ML kudos for his acting abilities, especially the five stages of grief. Very convincing. And this ghost story was definitely a new twist on the usual "husband neglects wife and ends up regretting it" trope. Very different and creative.
As a detective, how can he contaminate the crime scene like this? also, earlier, He clearly saw his mother protect his wife giving up her life for her yet he says his wife killed his mother. But wasn’t it due to his careless apprehension of the criminal that led to his mother’s death? I was wondering why would she call her husband and not the police-I get it now; he is the police.
The story seems un convincing. If such stupid, foolish, insincere and untrained people are there in the police department what will become of society/nation. Male leading actor is presented as a foolish, stupid and unfaithful person. If he can't protect his family, what protection can he give to others. Moreover he's being played around by a common, revengeful lady , and he never suspects her even once, and unreasonably blames his own wife for the death of his mother.

This kind of drama is a time waster. The ML was an idiot because he live in a world of lies and selfishness. What is the point of crying over something that can never be reversed. As a husband, his behaviour towards his pregnant wife is despicable and he deserves spend his days reflecting on his deeds.
This ML character is one of the most disgusting ever in a drama, Chinese or otherwise. Would not even carry out his duties properly as a cop. Does she even now think he's mourning for her? He's upset he hasn't punished her enough for his mother's death. I hope, if she's reborn at some point, that she's not stupid enough to give this guy a second look.

This is like the ultimate regret plot if that’s your cup of tea. It’s crazy because husband is a detective yet he let himself get played … and literally get played by the criminal. It’s like so unbelievable how that could ever happen. And this just took everything to the extreme!

O pai da 2FL era um bandido que foi reconhecido pelo marido policial, mas ele não sabia que era o pai da 2FL? Então, o bandido faz a 1FL de escudo. No confronto, a sogra fica na frente do tiro que mataria a esposa. Então o que o BONITO faz? Culpa a esposa pela morte da mãe 😮 Depois de um tempo, o demônio encarnado mata a esposa grávida e ainda tripudia da ingenuidade (que ao mer ver, é mera incompetência)... Afinal, todas as pistas levavam ao bai yuegang...

А её очень жаль, была убита беременной таким жестоким образом...
