Joe l remember how that property looked when you and Melissa first checked it out and look 👀 at it now, God sure picked the right people for that land. And still more to come, AMAZING! 👏👏👏🌱🌱🌱🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯
Joe, you tackle so many different tasks and make it look normal that a guy can do so much. You are a great example of where there’s a will there’s a way. Thank you for excellent videos: content and editing.
This has been a wonderful process to watch. I used to garden as a younger woman and loved it, but I can no longer do the work; therefore, it is a real joy to watch you create these fabulous gardens. Truly.
Nothing beats a good rain fall after planting. There is something about a good rain after planting that always made my plants take off. If it was a dryer season, my plants always struggled.
I can watch gardening all day long. No Garden for me the past 2 years. Last year because we weren't sure if we were staying put or not. This year I am on a waiting list for another brain tumour removal, which is why I got into gardening to begin with and found your channel years ago!
Joe in about 6-7 months from now you will be Wishing you could be in the garden planting... LOL! Working hard, always expanding, growing and improving...That is the way it is done. Thanks for setting a great example on "How to Succeed in Life" .
I agree about the gardening hoe you’re using. I’ve had mine for about 10+years. My husband laughed but now he loves it too. The best ever! Will you ever build raised beds? We love ours especially at our age. 😆
Hope everything is okay at the tent cabin and your Dad's place. Really enjoyed your planting of the garden and setting out more things in the yard and grape arbors. Don't worry about those who don't like to watch what you actually have to do to keep your place maintained and operating as well as you folks run things around there. You bust your butt keeping things running and going smoothly the least we can do is watch and learn how you shuffle your deck and keep playing. They should learn to be human and quit bellyaching. Take care and stay safe around there and keep up the great videos. Fred.
Joe, a simple tutorial on that homemade wine would be awesome. I’ve been making my own for a couple of months now with frozen juice concentrate, sugar and yeast. It’s strong, but the flavor isn’t quite what I thought it would be. Ask Melissa to make us a video!
This garden reminds me of the one you had at the "hobby farm". One of my all-time favorite videos was with you and Xander planting veggies. Nice memories. I'm excited to watch this garden grow!!!!
I need to find the exact cup. Marc bought that for Melissa and if you have watched for a long time, Marc was a friend from Vermont that came and visited a few years back. He passed away a little more than a year ago and last night that cup got broken beyond repair. If you know a place that sells them please let me know in my email. homeandcabininc@outlook.com. I would like to buy her another one. She has used that cup for years. One of the cats knocked it off the stove where I have it set and ready every night waiting for her morning tea.
To get your plant spacing. Make a planting stick. Take a sharpie marker and make marks on a long 1x1 piece of wood. Do different spacing marks on each side of the 1x1 and write the vegetables that use that spacing on that side. Lay the long pole near the line of your string and make a whole line of holes with a small long handled shovel. Just slide the pole along. Make all your holes and go back and drop the plants or seeds in the holes. Goes much faster than crawling on your knees with a tape measure. We had huge gardens growing up. There may be planting sticks still in the barn. For instance if green peppers should be planted 18-24 inches apart put marks at 20 inches. Add names of other Veg. that can be planted at same spacing. Many have a wide planting spread.
Happy Father's Day Joe, and Zach. Every time I watch a video, I can't get over how private and how beautiful your land is. You both work so very hard to maintain it all. I don't get tired of watching you plant and am looking forward to seeing how everything grows this season. I cut way back this year with no flowers and just tomatoes and peppers. You do more in one day than I do in a week's time. God bless.
You enjoy mowing and I have had to mow quite a few times so far and as I've gotten older I hate it each year. I really sick of trimming and tomorrow I will have to trim a big hillside because at the bottom there is a wooden fence which doesn't forgive if i hit it with the mower, it is very steep.
Some would tell you to remove the yellow leaves as you plant because they take nutrients from the rest of the plant. Just what I've watched on other channels.
I know right? I had a clip in there somewhere that had it but with all the wind I had to edit a lot of it out and that must have been one of the video clips that I removed.
Melissa brings that up all the time, so yes. In the spring we could get thousands of gallons of very clear water to use. Stay tuned, I have a few things that need to get done first. Lol.
I don't get fed up watching anyone who is gardening. You'll be happy with your efforts come winter when you two are dining on your veg and fruit! Save the plastic tray for next year. You can use them to start your seeds.
Joe, I was wondering if the deer and rabbits would eat the new plants before you got a chance to fence the garden? When do you plan to put the plastic over the greenhouse frame?
You will see in the next video that I put some cattle panels against the greenhouse to keep the "honest" non jumping deer out. Lol. The plastic will go on sometime this season. It will be fully ready for next year by this winter.
Actually, now that we are pasturing a bunch of the land, I mow about 3-4 acres a week less than the last 5 years. I can mow everything 100% in just under 4 hours now.
Great content Joe. Your gardening has motivated me as we work on ours. Your season is late. I have a question on bar/grills that maybe would be good around Superior. Or any restaurants that you could recommend. I am going to visit the Richard Bong Historical Center and Dicks grave in Poplar, the Arial Lift Bridge and possibly the Glensheen Mansion in July. It’s been a while since I’ve been in Duluth and could use some recommendations. Keep up the great work. Kai
It is not bad. The burger is pretty good. The two ladies in there do a good job. They sell cookies and breads also. It is a fast food type of burger but they taste good and the prices are good too. Savannah portage has a better burger but it is more expensive also.
We planted none of the dried type beans this year. I have in the past and will again in the future but this year I have enough on my list of things to do. We will have this new garden layout figured out better next year. We may have to expand it but we will eventually grow the hard beans.
In Minnesota there are no restrictions. I was surprised after looking it up (after reading your comment) that there are states that do not allow it. You educated me. Thank you.
I thought I saw Beauty while you were hoeing the garden. I miss that girl. I used my hoop hoe today to weed my whole big garden. Best thing ever. I hope you had a wonderful Fathers Day!
Thank you. Yes, now that we have warmer weather Beauty is allowed outside some days. She loves it outside but she is kind of a prissy and sometimes moody girl. LOL. She is one of the Louisiana originals that is still here and doing well. They all have their different personalities for sure.
Joe, how do you like that Renogy suitcase solar panel for your EcoFlow? I have an EcoFlow Delta max 2, and I'm interested in buying that same folding solar panel. Also, can you leave it hooked up all the time to your EcoFlow without having to worry about it overcharging or anything?
I will do a video on that in the near future I think. I really liked it because it was not flimsy like some of the others and it did real well in the wind and it is not heavy. The batteries only take what they need and then shut the solar panel off. I know that is not the correct terminology but you get what I mean.
We never get sick of watching your videos! They were my relaxation tool during the lockdown 4 years ago ! Keep going.

Never get sick of planting a garden
HAPPY FATHER DAY JOE AND ZACH AND EVERYONE ELES
Thank you David.
We have hunting property in Floodwood, sure hope all this rain doesn't cause another flood like we had in 2012.
Joe, you inspire me. You get more done in a day than most people do in a week.
Joe it was so funny to see you using your measuring tape to plant the garden. Old habits die hard
I'm not sick of watching you plant. lol
This has been a wonderful process to watch. I used to garden as a younger woman and loved it, but I can no longer do the work; therefore, it is a real joy to watch you create these fabulous gardens. Truly.
Joe, dry the tulips over the summer in your worksheet and plant the bulbs just before your first snow!

Cannot wait for the garden to get a bit older and watch everything come up. Good Job !
Garden is looking good. Happy Father's day.

Joe , those tables will work very nice for drying the potatoes after they get dug up. 😊

Thanks Joe! The garden is looking really good! You sound exhausted ! Take care! I really enjoy mowing too!
In fairness, I always love seeing the planting and how everything on the farm is growing.😊
Just love how you get right down and dirty putting your hands right in the dirt. That must be the secret to your success🇨🇦👋

You are making hobo wine. Do a google search "how to make hobo wine" My video from 12 years ago is what comes up. That stuff is strong. Lol.
That's a huge garden! Melissa is going to have to retire come time to preserve it all. Good Luck!
You always get so much done it’s incredible!! Happy Father’s Day!
Happy Father’s Day Joe! Hope you had a great day. Thanks much for sharing all your work video with us.
Hello from Iowa Joe and everyone. 👋

I look forward to your videos. I feel calm and inspired while watching you take pride in your place.
Your dreams for the Farmhouse property are being realized and the place looks great. Farming is a 24/7 job, perfect for Farmer Joe.
Good work, hard support for you

I was looking at the large amount of rain you guys are getting. I will bet you will see the quack grass growing like crazy.
We used racks like that to dry potatoes and onions on instead of the basement or garage floor so that air gets around them even melons
Your garden is beautiful and organized. Best one yet.😊
The garden and greenhouse look AMAZING. Have you thought about converting the guesthouse.into full time.grow house? You have a knack for.gardening.
29:16 Peach wine. Sounds like a good how-to video for "As the Rooster Crows" 😉
Beauty veg garden Joe

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY JOE!!!!!!!
Always love your video updates! Everything looking great!!
Joe Beatiful vídeo
Happy for you joe. Garden done.
Joe you thank your great, great grandparents, great grandparents and grandparents used to ruler to measure in between plants for the garden lol
Yep, the hoop hoe otherwise known as a stirrup hoe is game changing. Nothing weeds better or faster. Anyone who gardens should have one.
No "Hello and welcome back"?
I know right? I had a clip in there somewhere that had it but with all the wind I had to edit a lot of it out and that must have been one of the video clips that I removed.
You need a small bee hive to pollinate
Have you thought of capturing the water from the sub pump to use to water the garden?
Melissa brings that up all the time, so yes. In the spring we could get thousands of gallons of very clear water to use. Stay tuned, I have a few things that need to get done first. Lol.
what ever happen to the quest house? 26:40
I would cut one of the cattle panels to fill the bottom gaps on the grape trellis.
Holy crap. Are peaches THAT expensive up there???? Over $2 a pound! Shiza. They are maybe 1.25/lb here in Ohio.

Going to need a bigger lawnmower

Joe do you do all the work?
How much of the new house needs to be done for someone to come stay there?
No peach is as good as a Ga peach!!
Joe maybe you should hire somebody to help you plant the garden it will be a lot easier
I think he likes doing it his way. That way it is done right.
Great video Joe!!! How’s the burger house?? Been by there several times but never stopped
It is not bad. The burger is pretty good. The two ladies in there do a good job. They sell cookies and breads also. It is a fast food type of burger but they taste good and the prices are good too. Savannah portage has a better burger but it is more expensive also.
We need something to hold these up yer gonna mow over em😂😂😂😂
How’s the rhubarb coming along Joe?
just to let you know that you did not stay the night at the tent
Which is exactly what I said in this video.
Did you plant Black Eyed Peas lima beans white beans I know you did green beans and peas

Is it legal to grow black curent? I know it have been iligal before couse the bugs kill the white pine.

@@NorthernSeclusion Glad to be att service, greetings from Sweden.
Did Melissa do Bees this year?
She did not do them this year, she may do them again in the future.

measure twice...dig once
Why do yall grow so much food for just 2 people? Do yall give away a lot of vegetables?
Yes.
they do a lot of canning
What do you think of those flexzilla hoses? They have a cool material and slide easy, but I see yours like mine gets all black and moldy.
I like them, they are pretty flexible and do not kink much. I tend to hit them with the mower though and they do not survive that. Lol.
@@NorthernSeclusion Ha! Ok, thanks!
Joe you must not like okra..
I planted 2 okra plants.
Fried okra is so good..
Joe, are you retired?
Joe, how do you like that Renogy suitcase solar panel for your EcoFlow? I have an EcoFlow Delta max 2, and I'm interested in buying that same folding solar panel. Also, can you leave it hooked up all the time to your EcoFlow without having to worry about it overcharging or anything?

Is Melissa not doing Bees this season?
She is not, her bees died and for now she is bee free. Lol. Maybe again in the future.
Oh sorry. I must've missed that video as I'm sure you've probably mentioned it.
What brand is your riding mower?
Pretty sure that’s a husqvarna
