As Sunda - become "Empire where Sun(da) never ends". You have to own every state in the world where does equatorial line pass. (if you want you can do all regions as bonus goal). Don't forget about Micronesia, Galapgos, all island in Indian ocean and Sao Tome and because in eu4 line is going between Kiribati and Hawaii, you have to take both of states. I'm just checking in for you! Have a great challenge! 💪
As Sunda, control all of the Malacca, Moluccas and Philippines trade nodes, complete your mission tree, and spawn global trade. Fun challenge, no this sounds like that so do stupid thing. I played them recently and did this + Australia and Polynesian Triangle btw, I promise it's good. You can form Banten or Cirebon from a mission if you like their ideas more too.
Perfect! Sometimes I really miss those "normal" but logical and fun goals. The weird ones often lead to crazy gameplay that doesn’t make any sense. I wish he’d consider options like yours instead of always going with the most absurd, highly-voted ones.
21:18 the issue wasn't just that you were colonizing. In old world uncolonized provinces, including those in Africa, colonizing does not automatically remove the native culture like in the americas or in Australia. But, if you kill all the natives and colonize, the province culture does flip to your primary culture.
Iirc it has to do with the native population in the province. If there is more colonists than natives, the culture of the province flips to the colonizer's. Most provinces in Africa and Asia have more than 1000 natives so they don't flip, unless the natives, hum... disappear somehow... In America, almost all uncolonized provinces have less than 1000 natives and therefore flip to your culture. Totally unneeded fun fact to finish off this wall of text: if you colonize a remote island (eg Falklands) with 0 population, the culture will shift to yours and stay so even if you really the colonist. The inhabitants of an unhabitated island will identify as Portuguese for the next decades.
But you can actually play as Zulu quite early. There's some shenanigans you have to do with cultures and cores and they can pop up as rebels, I think. If I remember correctly, you have to conquer provinces with the right culture, then revoke cores of other nations on those provinces and cancel your own cores (or not core them in the first place). Then if nobody has core on those provinces, the rebels that pop up will be Zulu and I think you can guess the rest of the steps. I think Ludi or someone made a video about it.
I think you can also do it by culture-shifting a province which only has your core (eg. a province you own at game start) to Nguni. Then create rebels in that province - they should be independence rebels, who create Zulu cores on every province they siege. (Optional: Release them, feed them all of your cores, diplo-annex them.) Finally, release them and tick the box to play as them.
A large portion of the Greater Sunda Islands were controlled by the Dutch for a large portion of their history. And also I am a sadist so as Sunda I feel it is only reasonable to ensure this stays the case by becoming Dutch and forming the Netherlands yourself while also conquering the greater and lesser Sunda isles.
Vassalizing Tidore or Ternate is so useful. They have missions that let them colonize the spice islands for those delicious cloves. You should do it sometime when playing in this region.
I do it even if I'm playing from the Middle East, India, or Europe- just a few points to get the colonist off Expansion ideas and I basically guarantee a monopoly on the most valuable trade good before coal spawns.
as Sunda, your goal is to establish Sunda schools. To do this, you need to 1. take the decision "establish Sunday schools" 2. build a university in every province 3. be ahead on every tech 4. Clerical Education active. 5. Yes, this means becoming Christian
This isn't for a while, but im gonna prepare you for the pain. As Tsang, you must conquer all of Tibet and then form it, the province of "Om" because meditation sound, "Xining" because the Dalai Lama was born there, "Dang" cus the first Budha was born there, and then every province that has "zen" in its name (obviously not the Zenith Plateau cus its water just conquer the provinces that border it im not a monster)
@29:45 Red Hawk, playing as a major power with potential ambitions ; EU4 : alright CPUs, better try your best to box him in. Go outside your comfort zones, blob out quickly, make insane alliance patterns to thwart his ambitions! Red Hawk playing as an OPM in South East Asia with near zero potential ; EU4 : alright CPUs, lets have a fun game okay? Stay inside your lanes, play to your strengths, follow the history books and remember - have fun out there!
@35 Sunda sounds like Thunda. So, as Sunda, conquer Australia (Youve been thunderstruck!) and every mountain province. Then go outside and get struck by lightning (in Minecraft!)
Can you still do it as Kilwa? That used to be super OP. Kilwa tech, Zulu ideas, and then if you could get Zoroastrian you were unstoppable. Zoro Zulu used to be a huge meme
@@derekskelton4187 you have to provoke nguni rebels, when some provinces get Zulu cores, you release and play as Zulu. You can do this relatively early. I did it as mutapa, and the independence war was rough enough. took me like 4 tries to set it up right. I suppose you could do it as kilwa, but it will be harder, and you'll play as Zulu later than if you started as mutapa.
That is both the coolest and most historical Protestant League War I've ever seen. Of course you're playing in Southeast Asia and South Africa when that happens lol
For your next playthrough as Sunda: Revenge of Prabu Maharajah: “the King with a Pleasant Fragrance”: according to Wikipedia, this king of Sunda died in 1357, together with his daughter and much of his family. They were slaughtered by the Majapahit at his daughter’s wedding (similar to the Red Wedding). SO: As Sunda, flip to a horde government (you can change tags to do this), then raze all of Majapahit’s provinces.
31:58 I kind of wish there was a time-lapse mode or something where you can customize an autopilot to manage your state. You could also set criteria where it auto pauses and hands the controls back to the user like certain events fire or you get declared on. The game could also stop rendering anything other than the map to making processing go faster.
If you need to do a similar Africa/Asia culture swap campaign, don’t kill the natives when you colonize. Killing them makes the province your culture, but it will have the base culture if they’re left alive
As Sunda, earn your place in the Sun by defeating a Great Power in a war that also either puts you onto the Great Powers list or at a rank above the defeated nation.
as Sunda 1: become christian 2: enact sunday schools 3: ally the papacy and the HRE emperor and keep them both at 100+ opinion. just a simple and easy campaign.
TH-cam lets you post videos early. He probably has a whole queue ready for a few weeks ahead of time that only become visible on set dates. Some even let members watch early so people will comment on it before it's public
The culture thing is, when you are colonizing if you kill the natives there then you will have your culture. You have to not kill them to have their culture there
Quick question about conversions as a Muslim nation, I've never seen you use the Trade decision to "spread" the religion through trade when you have the majority of the trade in the node.. wouldn't it be better since it's at no cost?
Sunda can form two unique nations: Banten and Cirebon. For either of these formables as Banten conquer the China region and as Cirebon be a leader in spices and Cloves and conquer Indonesia, Indochina and the Philippines
Sunda has an interesting history with a marriage that has gone terribly wrong with the Majapahit prince. Something which is represented in their focus tree. So as sunda, conquer all of the east indies + the phillipines and australia, release every single island as vassals (not colonies) with your dynasty, and royal marry them all. Also you can't release majapahit, (but you can vassalize them trough missions) and bonus point if your ruler is female by the end of the challenge.
Sunda is on the island of Java, the most populous island in the world. We have seen many conquest challenges lately, so I propose that you shouldn't own a province outside of the Malaya, Moluccas and Indonesia regions and have more dev than any other island nation.
Now here me out, but what if in a few months you loaded this save file, got to where you could release Zulu, and played them with the standard releasable war goal of making your overlord not exist, but also win a fight against England again?
I left a comment on a previous A-Z about the glitch that allows you to play Zulu in 1444, maybe after the end of the Series you could play Zulu using that glitch.

As Sunda become Sunni and conquer Dahomey so you can become Sunni Dahomey.

THIS ONE. ALSO CONVERT TO INTI. Praise the sun.
Bonus goal: get to Europe before Sweden becomes independent and support it's independence
Yes!
This might not work because the Americas are shifted up in eu4 so the line would be wonky
No convert to Zoroastrianism

Colonising doesn't automatically remove the native culture in Australia actually, you have to reach that natives minus 100 population threshold.
Considering madagascar, polynesians colonizing africa isn't that wild.

Should always save before pop ticks up to 400 when colonizing the spice islands so you can bird it until you get cloves. ^^

Dyslexic Sunda, as Sunda conquer all of modern day Sudan and South Sudan.
As Sunda, completly conquer the land of the rising sun
I think you can actually reset/reroll for a different resource when colonizing. Just abandon the colony if it’s a shitty resource
I find it funny you took fish island from them as that's the island that causes the decline in fish prices.
The culture thing is, when you are colonizing if you kill the natives there then you will have your culture. You have to not kill them to have their culture there
