Oh, yes I remember this. It was the event with the absolutely legendary funnel race performance by the Black Jacks who danced in the second to last funnel for more than 100 seconds as all the other marbles dropped past them one by one.
Simply amazing.

From 1:55 to 3:36, almost 2 minutes!
The Chocolatiers did something along the lines of this in ‘19 which often gets overlooked where they went from last to second in the final funnel. In fact, they spent more time in the last funnel than all the rest.

Edit: It seems from the comments below that they did have names already here? The commentary really doesn't reflect that very much, from what I've seen so far. I'm only new here in June 2020, and obviously I have a lot of back story to catch up on. Can anyone advise on which fan-relatable book about the history of these games is the best one to buy? I've heard that the 'official' publication is rather dry, and deliberately skips all the drama and politics which go on off-competition.
@@Varksterable all 28 marble league teams have an article about them called the retrollspective, and it goes really in depth with their history. I've read a few and they're all great.

When I first stumbled onto this channel, I was like, you've got to be kidding right? Now I watch all events and just let out a loud "YES!" when Bluefastics won.

The Green Gang is the equivalent of the Oceanics
Michael Wareham well actually the Oceanics are the equivalent of the Green Gang, since this was in 2018, and before 2019
Oscar Gillette aaaaaand by bad you mean the worst season in Marblelympics history. Actually, the Green Gang are way better. They got 1st, while the best the Oceanics ever did was third - their only even decent season. Remember the Oceanics in ‘16 and ‘17? Well neither does anyone else, because THEY SUCKED. 10th in 2016 and 11th in 2017, they are one of the most consistent teams - consistently terrible. They were lucky in a few events to somehow gain the lead, and they blew it terribly. They are about the farthest team you can get from deserving the title.
So I would revise your comment to : “The Oceanics usually preform terrible we got 16th place (and undisputedly the worst Marblelympics season ever) in the 2019 Marblelympics. We had one lucky season”

I love these Hubelino tournaments ❤️ they may not have as high production value as the Marble League, but they have a lot of heart, and I love all of these teams.
I have no idea how or why these videos are so absorbing. Like no joke, I think I prefer watching this to the real Olympics.
I'm not even slightly interested in watching any human sports.
I fell for this channel (it was a Marblelympics event I saw first, I think) because it was an incredibly well executed, funny parody. But as I watched more and more increasingly silly variations on the theme it slowly dawned on me that this is actually a very, very clever production as well.
The events (even the most basic ones) are very well thought out, and the commentary is totally on point. And the drama is there aplenty, but the hate and bitterness is not. It is not driven purely by big money either, which for me is a big positive.
Even if it was simply physics, it'd still be very interesting to me. I could relate it to many aspects of chaotic theory or emergent systems. But I know now that mere physics isn't what it is at all. Those marbles work and train damn hard to put on such an amazing display for us.
So it's just a completely natural reaction to become captivated by the spectacle and intensity of it all.
Go Hazers! Wait, the Hazers did not compete in 2018 due to economic difficulties in Hazeland. :-(
You'd think with legalization becoming more prevalent they'd be doing better.

StarRocks1000 yeah I know :( black jacks and gold orbs used to be in the marble league in 2018 qualifiers but retired when they introduced the indigo stars.
@StarRocks1000 if you look at the 2017 Marblympics you can easily see in the stands the HT marbles are huge, and he probably does not have smaller versions or enough of them to put the team in to the Marblympics

Fell in love with the Bumblebees after the first race and immediately formed a rivalry with the Minty Maniacs in my head. The second last event was my El Classico. This was very emotional for me.

I agree. A track oval can be used for 100m. And the same oval can be used for a relay and more.

The hazers are not in the hubelino Tournament so that’s why their not here. The minty maniacs are in the marble league though! For real, my teams, the Black Jacks and Bluefastics, did great, and overall this was a very enjoyable and tense tournament!
I don't think I've ever watched a sport so intensely from the edge of my seat 😂🤣
I picked my team during the A B line up like most people probably do. I have chosen “ruby rollers” and I got to say how much I felt apart of this team. “Well we finished fifth over all and I will say we had our “ups and downs” side chuckle* gained bronze most events was a bit crushing mainly because we came here prepared for each event but it is what it is and the “Minty Maniacs” did put up a big fight in the head to heads like the half pipe event. We started noticing a problem in the maze event and we wanted to straight that one out but couldn’t find the right lanes so that’s that. And having 4 bronzes we we’re hoping for a gold to bring home but come up short in this last event. I think for next year are strategy will have us not take the cat-walk and instead take the funnel hopefully getting that extra second but congrats to the Bumblebees for taking the lead in the last stretch. They really brought the heat. But next year is another chance. And we will come back strong in more physical and strategic fit.
At the start of the video i picked the Bumblebees as my favorite and they won... we need to see more of this league!

Update: They both made it to the big show! Bumblebees got their first medal in the high jump, while the Minty Maniacs medaled in their first three events and are one of four teams still in contention for a title with 2 events to go!

The last 12 point position on the waves should be worth 16 or 20 pts. Enough to seriously tip the balance, but not be the winner by default. Love it!

#TEAMBUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Two amazing final runs, so glad I picked them in the beginning, they had my heart going a few times. I thought the Blackjacks had taken it but oh my god what a comeback!
Heat 1 - The Tower
The Bumblebee's absolutely blasted their stamina in heat one of the Tower making sure they qualified for the final, such a great a dominating run! Of course they burned off all their stamina and knew they couldn't pull off the same trick in the final heat.
Final Heat - The Tower
VERY risky move starting off slow and relying on the Halfpipe's to help them catch up but it worked, then the second tactical feat, super risky again trailing up the catwalk to skip the funnel overtaking ruby rollers in their stride. Great tactical play through the maze again. Some might say it was luck, but they came with the energy and determination of a team knowing they had Gold in their grasp.
Great performance from Team Bumblebee, excellent coaching skills. This Hubelino Tournament was a master class of skillful marbling. #TeamBumblebee for the Marblelympics!

It's great looking back on these old hubelino tournaments, they're still fun to watch. Though discontinuing them was probably a smart idea, as they would now feel like a step down from the current standard of Marble League, Marbula One and the other specials like Last Marble Standing and Winter Special.

Update: Both the Minty Maniacs and the Bumblebees made it through the qualifiers. Bumblebees recently won their first medal, a silver in the high jump, while the Minties scored 2 golds and a bronze to start their return to the big league. They are currently one of four teams still in contention for the championship, the other three all being former champions looking to cement their legacies.

Would it be fair to say that the Hubelino events are simply a farm system for the Marblelympics? (Ruby Rollers could be the ‘bush league’ farm team for the Rojo Rollers, Bluefastics for Oceanics, Green Gang for Jungle Jumpers, Bumblebees for Mellow Yellow, etc.)

Three of them were in Marble League in earlier season, and Bumblebees joined in later time (I think sometime in 2019?)
Also, the members of The Green Gang are more similar to Team Momo than to Jungle Jumpers.
Literally no,the Bumblebees and minty maniacs are official teams for the marble league while the black jacks and golden orbs tried to qualify in 2018 but failed and retired and people are suspecting they will return in 2022

I thought my procrastination levels would get a bit better after the marblelympics but here I am watching another video
I like this so much more than actual sports.
I've discovered something I actually want to get into.
Being a Blackjacks fan while watching this was sooooo frustrating. They started off so well, took silver in the first event, had an amazing comeback in the funnels, and heading into event 5 were in first place. Then they fell apart, finished 7th in the relay, 4th in the maze, and even though they still had championship potential going into the final event, they threw it away gave us 8th place with a DNF. *sigh*
They would have made it into the marble league but only the top two teams (Bumblebees and Minty maniacs) made it. So the black jacks messed up

Some people prefer the Marble League, some are crazy about the Marble Rally. Those are great and all but I am a simple man with simple tastes and I can never get enough Hubelino.

Insane consistency from the Ruby Rollers in the Catwalk, got 1 in the 10 on each of their first four matches, then barely missed it in the bronze medal match
Shame the rest of the Ruby Rollers didn't train for the catwalk too much. That one marble killed it! 10 every time except for the consolation round where it fell off just before the end. Amazing job!
Ruby Rollers and the Bluefastics have had strong careers in these past few years. Who knows? Maybe we’ll see one of in the 2020 Marblelympics qualifiers
