"Did he say 88 exclusives?"
No, he said 8. Visual Boy only had a total of 22 games released before being discontinued due to low sales, and only 14 of those games were released in the west.
The Virtual Boy was the catalyst for VR if you can believe it.
I know & its just as sucessful as the Virtual Boy was back then
"This does not seem like something Nintendo would make" is a statement that has aged like milk with that Emio trailer dropping
29:07
“What is Kinect Adventures?”
A pack-in title for the Kinect. Scott did a video on it called “Kinect for Xbox 360” if you’re interested.
Scott The Woz definitely deserves a playlist and a weekly spot on the channel like Nostalgia Critic or Game Theory. His videos are so much fun to watch.
As a recommendation, I'd suggest reacting to his Wii Accessories episode, then his Nintendo DS Accessories episode.
Yeah, he only watches like one video a monyh
Funily enough; 3D films have been a thing for a *lot* longer than most people realise. 3D films were first attempted back in 1922, and the first 3D film "craze" was between 1952-1954.
It's actually a fascinating look if you go through the entire timeline; basically ever since the dawn of cinema people have been trying to make 3D immersion work.
I recommend Scott's *Game Compilations Compilation*
Also, Technically the first 3D movie was The Power of Love from 1922
9:36 It's not hard to find old footage of events. I watch commercials from the 70s, 80s, & 90s every day on TH-cam.
Also, since you asked about the 3DO, AVGN did a video on it, but I know how difficult his videos are to react too.
This is one of my personal fave. Hoping for the next to be his Mario Party vids!
Also, Happy Birthday, Kyle!
"How does he have footage of this?" Welcome to the rabbit hole of obscure media. Promo videos, early cuts of movies and shows, and archived documentary footage galore!
The Dark Age of Nintendo is a great start to Scott the Woz plot content
Basically Virtual Boy was VR (Virtual Reality) before VR but with the screen colored in Red so badly it looked like you were playing with kool aid in tbe backgrounds and so unbearable to play that it may be a miracle you wouldn't go above 20% blind
3D movies are still released several times a year. The fact they are 3D is just not advertised as much. Such is life.
At what point do we start him on the larger Scott lore? He’s met Jeb and Terry, but there is much more to be done
Virtual Boy? I didn't know Scott The Woz made a video about Kyle
“Altus made Persona 4 arena right?”
I mean yeah I guess… among other things… like persona…
"Nintendo made Mario Kart, right?" energy
"it'd be hard to mess up tetris"...
hold my beer
Nowadays people like to emulate Virtual Boy games using filters to swap the pallette from Reds to White and Greys. A Lot easier on the eyes.
JonTron actually used a Virtual Boy for one of the gags in his VR Troopers Video
My personal suggestion for a Scott Video, I will once again push for "Game Stores"
Anyways, Happy Birthday Dude!
Can you react to one of the ink tank's two series, the first one is and beyond which is basically a documentary on the different alien planets in ben 10 and everything to know about it, and the second one is 5YL which is a motion comic about a crossover between ben 10 and Danny phantom
27:19 Oh no no no, Mr Duck. We are not going down that road.
I guess if every game with falling pieces onto a rectangle area is Tetris then I guess Halo, Battlefield and Doom are all basically Call of Duty clones.
Next you’ll say that Devil May Cry is just like Bayonetta… wait a minute 🤔
It wasn't in full color because it would've been too expensive; as he said, it would've cost 500 dollars
In back then money???
My favorite Scott the Woz video!
Edit: Also, happy birthday!
Happy birthday 🥳 Been a fan since that crazy 100 uploads in December!
That was a CRAZY month!
I don’t have “fans” I have viewers or friends, I’m no different than any of you!
Glad they made an VB emulator for the 3DS
Happy birthday Kyle Guy.
They’ll be a day when you can watch some AVGN.
I’ll always remember the Virtual Console review.
He can’t because of copyright
I know I know.
Even he told me.
Nostalgia critic did review water world so maybe check that out
Happy birthday :)
My Scott the Waz recommendation is Nintendo Classics (NES games for GBA), but it might be linked into the greater Scott the Waz lore, with which I am unfamiliar.
The Virtual Boy was an interesting novelty that Nintendo over pushed. I have an issue of Nintendo Power with Virtual Boy being the cover story. IIRC it hyped it up. I also remember seeing a demo unit in Toys 'R' Us back in the day. I didn't try it.
I picked up a loose Virtual Boy back in April for $350 with an AC adapter and Mario Tennis loose. I have played three VR games: my copy of Mario Tennis, Wario Land and the pinball game. Wario was years ago and I don't remember. In pinball I didn't notice the 3D at all. Mario Tennis was alright, but I sucked at it.
Regarding getting footage, there are ways to mod the Virtual Boy to be able to display on TVs. Plus emulation.
The controller feels pretty good to hold. I haven't played it enough to say how it plays.
"Did it have a Mario Kart?" At this point, only the first Mario Kart, Super Mario Kart, had been released 4 years earlier. It wasn't a franchise yet.
Teleboxer was always the game that intrigued me the most. It's one of the few Virtual Boy games I want to get my hands on, alongside Mario Clash and Wario Land.
Jack Bros is technically related to the Persona series. $2,000 is about how much it goes in the box. Just the cartridge is still about $700.
Waterworld was a movie with the concept that with the melting ice caps, the entire world is flooded, to the point where dry land is basically a myth.
When game collecting, commercial failures usually command high prices, because either not many were made in the first place, or not many were bought. The Virtual Boy itself isn't as bad because by the end stores were practically giving them away. Plus there was a stash of 100 sealed found in a shipping container in Dubai in 2008.
See you later today for Devil May Cry.
I think you should react to Caddiacrus. His videos are pretty long, most of which being over an hour long. Since you didn't know what Kinect Adventures is, maybe you should check out his Kinect video? Either that or his Jesus Games video, which is often considered his best.
If you'd like to see another Virtual Boy video, then I'd recommend "I made a handheld Virtual Boy (The Real Boy)" by Shank Mods.
The video is exactly what you'd expect and then some.
The footage is from Emulation. Yes, people emulated this thing. Very easily I might add.
Hey can you react to "TOO fast" or "idiot" from failboat
And if you wanna see more Godzilla i recommend watching Godzilla guy
If you're looking for another Scott the Woz video, my personal favorite is "Ride to Hell: Retribution | Art."
Another great video. You should watch Scott the woz anime games next
Happy birthday to you, Duck!
Happy birthday 🎉
Happy Birthday
Happy birthday
Happy birthday. the virtual boy was like 30 years too early
Ah yes, the virtual boy, aka Nintendo’s least successful console.
Well besides the wii u
@@varietyspiderpage actually this is even less successful.
@@sir.goat4595 the worst selling nintendo console of today vs the worst selling nintendo console in history
@@varietyspiderpage
Would you sell well
Wii u : nah I won't
@@varietyspiderpageI may sound like an a-hole but the Wii U was my first ever console I played so everytime someone mocks it, it hurts my soul (although I won’t deny that it sold poorly it’s still my childhood console)
Again, you should watch "game stores" by scott the woz
Under a rock
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
I'm impressed by the speed with which Nintendo and Sega were cancelling stuff around this time.
"Virtual Boy flopped? SHUT IT DOWN."
"32X flopped? SHUT IT DOWN."
It was a transitional period.
Happy birthday man
Oh shit, happy birthday dude, didn't know your birthday was today. A mere 17 days before mine on July 19th (:
(albeit probably a different year, i was born 2002, don't know your year nor do i need to, it's none of my business to know)
Happy birthday bro
You seriously need to try some of the traditional Super Mario platformers. You are seriously missing out. Same goes for Zelda and metroid.
What do you do when your child is taking longer than expected to conceive? Have one in the meantime!
It's so obvious!
What's wrong with 3-D Tetris?
Once again, I beg that you make your way through the (huge quotes on this) " lore " videos. The characters are great and so goofy, the running gags are amazing, and the "story" videos are some of his best!
th-cam.com/play/PLGNiE9nLEA73kaUszYzslFO7CA8ZroItu.html&si=tAV4BhcnOp9YZErB
Can you react to e3 2001 it has so much to show
Watch The lonely goomba virtual boy wario land
I just want you to know that despite the games being in only a portion of the screen, i'm getting a headache WATCHING THIS VIDEO
god this console fucking sucks
This is my 3rd or 4th video comment of me asking for the Homecoming video lol
homecoming
Finally
I thought that there was a game called "Hotel Mario" that the Angry Video Game Nerd played on his review of the Virtual Boy
Hotel Mario was on the Philips CD-i.
Happy… not birthday!
22:13 What's weird is this remake of the classic game is sort of an oddball in the Mario series. You can't jump on the Koopas but when the later games came out like the Super Mario Bros series, squishing Koopas became a major thing throughout the games, it's just seems werid you look back at this game and squishing Koopas wasn't a thing back then.
As far as I know, both Persona and Jack Bros at 23:15 are spinoffs of their Shin Megumi Tensei series. All I know that series is their final bosses are a giant uhh...talking reproductive organ and God himself, yes the Abrahamic God. I'm sure it be very controversial if those games ever did came to the West back in the day. As he mention, Jack Bros was their 1st game in the West long before Persona came over here.
I played Wario Land 2, 3, and 4 but never the 1st one. You can see why that seeing their 1st game was on this system.
Happy birthday
