I'm not buying it for a long time because of the issues (esp optimization problems), but I won't go ranting about the game being dead or anything like that. I also have ASE to get through, as I'm only on The Island and about to leave for SE.
Well you obviously didn’t take the lesson to heart from Jurassic Park Phlinger. The man clearly said “Don’t go into the tall grass.” Phlinger is just trying to become Raptor bait or maybe a Raptor snack.😂
I've got 3 big wish list items for ASA: - dinos to not glide on the ground due to their movement speed not matching up with the animation - New creature AI - Proper creature collision boxes The new coat of paint just makes these issues even more visible. I'm hopeful we'll get to see these improvements soon
The game looks amazing and special unfortunately Nitrado and snail are going to make it unplayable for all the small friends servers that existed in Ark. The $87 minimum for 3 month servers and unable to host your own dedicated is going to hurt this game big time. Love your content.

A MAJOR (minor) TLC that I doubt was added, but really wish would be, is to add berry harvesting to all berry eaters. I should be able to gather berries with a pachy or phiomia, or set my dodo or lystro on wander, and they would get their own food. It wouldn't be anything more than you can gather by hand, but it should be something.
I like that you stopped long enough to describe what I've been noticing watching folks play ASA. There's a visceral element to seeing a veteran Ark player suddenly balk at simply crossing a meadow that speaks volumes about what ASA offers.
Yeah and before you just saw the big trees falling when big stuffs were coming. Now you even see the grass moving when something smaller walk trough it, and those patch of fog at night where you can't even see anything, with all those noises... that is scary as hell. And the light not going trough walls is changing everything. 40€ for a big rework like that after 8 years is not terrible. The game was great then and is even better now. I would have prefer ARK 2 instead but It will be great while waiting.
I'm interested in the new building mechanics like being able to pick up stuff I've built without demolishing it, new snap points to utilize, & if there will be new style taming pens you use? I can't wait to see all this!
oh it feels so god that somebody likes me enjoy the little stuff so much !!! im a console player and i cant wait , to get my hands on it was i a bit sad that it got a delay ........fore console yes, but on the positive side there is more time to smooth things out i cant wait to explore the world enjoy sunsets with my friends laugh my butt off when whe get jumped by a raptor our the curiosity got the hand of me and gets me killed, and even with the tall grass the funny jump scares wil be even better !!! i enjoy youre videos alot phlinger just the way you play, the fun you have with the game!!!!! it even wants me to play it more in the future keep up the good work !!!
Cant wait to play on my series x but gotta say im worried how the game will fair, there seems to be a lot of backlash with snail and nitrado at the moment, im mostly a single player i was tempted to start my own unnofficial but i feel nitrado are just gunna raise the prices again after they scrapped 10 slot servers for a minimum of 26
Is it just me or has anyone else notice that it "might" be possible to avoid dino's by laying down in the tall grass? I haven't totally for scienced it but more than once I was watching dino's near the mosh pit and they looked like they were charging my way so I layed down in some tall grass and the dino's appeared to turn back around and go back to fighting each other. They sort of hinted at it in the trailer when the player in ghillie was watching the raptor stalk a sheep and after they went past him, he popped up and shot the raptor. I was only in cloth though.
Love your videos and this game looks great, but I can't afford a 4090 and i see complaints on Steam from those that do have ultra machines like that. I'll have to wait a few years before thinking about this purchase fo sho!
Can you still upload/store dinos at the obelisk? I haven't seen anyone do this and I generally play pve and solo. I am guessing you could build near a obelisk in single player or maybe on a server to help assist moving dinos across the map. I play on Xbox, so I can't test this myself. Just playing the waiting game rn. Thanks all the vids!
Do you think they'll be able to optimize the game while also develop the new content? ei: OG maps, community creatures, new DLC, SOTF, console release, etc. Seems like a lot to do while also optimizing game.
They’ve got a larger, more experienced dev team than when they first made ASE. Yes. They’ve already got some ascpects of other DLC’s in the files, where you can spawn in abberation creatures. They launched a patch like the day after the game was released to improve performance. IMO, I wouldn’t be surprised if console releases in another week or two, max. They stated there were a few bugs they missed, and decided to delay consoles release slightly. Their roadmap also gives them a good bit of time to work in between map releases, so. It might not all go according to their original schedule, but I believe the games going to grow tremendously. I can genuinely see this being the best survival game of the year, after it’s out of early access, everything’s optimized and they can get the Dino count higher, and all the maps and new DLC comes. I think Ark’s gonna be around for a long time:) assuming snail doesn’t go bankrupt, lmao
I had to set mine to 640x480 and lowest everything just to get past 30 to 60 and everywhere in between but I have a 3050ti in my laptop while I wait for my new Gpu for my main rig. next week.
Don't buy it. We need Snail (the corrupt publisher) to go bankrupt so Wildcard (the dev studio that creates Ark) can be sold to a more reasonable publisher.
I know you love the game Phlinger, but I am not impressed with this price and what they are giving for the game. Not too mention all the bad reviews and the problems with Ark. I am not paying for a game that I have tons of money into year after year and then they want more. Sorry, but your my favorite TH-camr when it comes to this game, but that could be ending. I hope things change, but it is not looking good for Snail and this game.

A 30 per month subscription is ludicrous. The cost of a full video game is ~two months of that subscription cost
