    Shana! You are the best teacher ever! Thank you so much, can’t wait to try it out. I’ve got the hook, and the hips and now with your precise instructions I’m going to do it! Although, I must say, it has been one of the most challenging poses for me thus far. You make it look so easy 🕊

    I love how I've been working on this pose and you made a video for it ! I can do every step except getting my leg straight out for more than 2 seconds. It's so frustrating. I've really been working on back bends and wheel pose I can't seem to figure out how to do wheel on my forearms. Would love to see a video from you on it bc you explain things really well thanks.

    • @YOGAthletica
      @YOGAthletica  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      hi jordan,
      the keys to getting that leg straight in back are the foot hook (can't emphasize this enough), core engagement (always), and balancing your weight front to back. make sure your body weight is far enough forward and that you are always looking up/forward to keep things even.
      as to wheel on the forearms...i'll add it to the list. that one is largely about open shoulders! is it how to get in that's the issue? or staying in?

    • @Jordan-sj7rc
      @Jordan-sj7rc 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Getting into it. I've been trying from wheel and just trying to get down on my forearms and can't seem to do it. Maybe I'm not doing good it right? Maybe it's my shoulders ikd. I've been working on opening them up everyday. Thanks for the fast reply

    • @YOGAthletica
      @YOGAthletica  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      most likely it's about shoulder opening. i'll put that video on the list of vids to make. :)

    Shana you look great! Please do a video how to make icing feet forward of pashchimotonachana in chaturangadandasana. (As in Ashtanga yoga surya namaskar)
    For me it's a mystery century, may have a very short arms? My body no it does not fit between the arms in length. Please open secret forwarding legs under him from a sitting position to a supine.

      just to make sure i understand what you are asking...you mean what i do in yoga sun salutations for advanced handstanders - shana meyerson YOGAthletica :D at 3:00?
      have you watched this video: advanced yoga: how to press from crow to handstand - shana meyerson YOGAthletica :D? i go over that at about 4:35.
      let me know...

      shana meyerson Yes, thanks, that's what I had in mind. I was thinking about what you're saying there about the handstand in the greeting to the sun, and before that I may not have grown in my practice. But now I'm more careful look it, will give it a try and you will write :)

    Could you please provide me a help, when I rest my shin across my tricep and lean forward, the weight is causing a bruise on my tricep and the pain is so bad if I hold in longer. Any hints?

    • @YOGAthletica
      @YOGAthletica  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Niki L you won’t like this answer but it will often hurt at first. Then you get used to it and it won’t feel like anything. Unfortunately, bone-on-muscle naturally is a lot of pressure. Start with short holds and work your way up. The discomfort does go away! Like a new pair of shoes. :)

    Hi Shana! I tried it twice but all my weight are on my hands I felt like I am goin to hit my face on the floor hehe and is painful when I let my knee on my triceps. I think I am doing it wrong. Thank you!!

    • @YOGAthletica
      @YOGAthletica  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      a couple suggestions:
      it's not really knee on triceps, but the area just below the knee. being a bit off the knee is not only more comfortable, but more stable as well.
      and if you feel like you will fall forward...first, in all arm balances, the two things that help stop you from falling forward are to press strongly into your fingertips and to lift your collarbones and look up like crazy.
      if you start with the part about just lifting your leg bent and not straightening right away, it helps to find your initial balance.
      then work slowly into the straightening of the back leg.
      also, make sure your elbows aren't going beyond your wrists...that will push you forward, as well...

      Hi Shana! greetings from the Philippines! I tried your suggestions. It works but I need more practice though. My leg is not high enough and I still have this fear of hitting my face on the mat. Thank you very much Shana!! Your suggestions are all very helpful to me. I will suggest you videos to my friends!
