  • Sodwana Bay is a bay in South Africa on the KwaZulu Natal north coast, between St. Lucia and Lake Sibhayi. It is in the Sodwana Bay National Park, and the Maputaland Marine Reserve, and is a popular recreational diving destination.
Being in a Marine Reserve, the coral and marine life are just amazing and well reserved.
Sodwana bay located not far from my hometown where I grew up and it's just so great that I can share this video and amazing experience with you.
This trip we dived 6 of the many many dive spots at Sodwana bay.
    We dived 2 mile, 5 mile, 7mile and 9mile.
At Sodwana Bay the reef profile tends to be flat with pinnacles, shallow drop offs, swim-throughs and gullies that range in depth from 8m to 100m and are suitable to novice and experienced divers alike. There is something for everyone!
    We dive with Coral Divers

LOL , they can be aggressive. Saw footage of one that bit a diver on the leg.

Hi there this was shot with a Gopro hero 5 and a canon s95 it’s rather old kit. Gopro with dive housing and red filter is so convenient and easy to use.

Hey! Amazing video, what a gorgeous location! I'll be visiting Sodwana in a couple months and was wondering how to you accessed the area. I'll be travelling from Durban and trying to plan a route there and back, any tips? Thanks!

Hi There. Sorry for the late response I was a bit off line and only starting out our channel now.
If you havent been there yet Sodwana bay will be easy to access from Durban if you rent a car and
St Lucia is a lovely town to visit on your way there and to see all the Hippos. A great park to visit and maybe stay a night is Cape Vidal. Perfect for hiking, chilling on the beach and some snorkelling.
But we always stay and dive with Coral Divers at Sodwana bay. They have really great facilities, awesome dive packages, the best vibe and offer shuttle services from St Lucia on selected days.
They are situated in the Park it self so makes it more convenient to access the beach and have a tractor shuttle that takes you to the beach for dives.
Have a lookout on their facebook page for the great midweek madness specials ;)
Hope I am not to late with this comment and if you already been there I know you would have made some awesome dive memories.
Sodwana Bay truly have a pristine well reserved reef and 7 Mile definitely a must dive !!!

Sodwana is great, but world's best? Not even South Africa's best IMO.
