So I replaced basket from stock to a Hinson BC it would try to pull while I hold the clutch and give it gas. Now I got a rattle when im in neutral and release the clutch I ordered new needle bearing and push rod my bushing look new nothing was wrong with bike but groved clutch basket. So do the basket suppose to have play
It's funny how many people pushes swing arm pivot bolt from right to left I noticed in the manual it should go left to right I changed mine last week cos I was bored 😐 noticed the bolt doesn't sit proud from frame as much too
Wow I just drained the coolant and took off the whole right side cover to do mine... Boy do I feel silly. Had to take it off to do the basket on my Honda’s, not sure why I thought this would be the same 🤣
Is it normal to have play in the clutch basket? With all the steel and friction plates removed but the 30mm nut still tightened down my basket moves with about a 1/16" of play.
Hey! I love this video thank you! I have to replace my kick starter shaft soon, do I have to take apart the clutch to do this? It looks like the kick starter shaft is slightly out of the way from the clutch but I've never done it before.
although i have never changed that part it appears you might be able to do so without removing the basket. I would try first and see. Let me know what happens! good luck
you were right! all I had to do was remove the bottom bolt from the clutch cover then I worked the other bolts around the main case, the kick started shaft was in plain sight and easy to change out. Also thank you again for this video, one day it will need it!
I know this is an old video but i need help. Do you have any idea what the gear on the back of the basket is called? A tooth broke on mine and i need to replace it. The basket could be replaced too but i can't find the two parts together. Actually all i can find is the basket alone. It's a 2000 KX125. Any help would be appreciated.
What should I use if I don't have an impact? I'm getting a project and it's the first bike I've ever done Amy work on besides maintenance. I have to replace the clutch basket in it.
+marinesniper195 apologize for the delay you would need a specialized tool to hold the basket in place. By the way thanks for your service to our country!
Brian and Katrina Beck No problem, bud. I never served. I made this account when my brother first joined and I wanted to follow in his footsteps. I need to figure out how to change my name on here.
I’ve got the exact exact kx. Planning on rebuilding it, so this video is just absolutely perfect
Have fun with that! I sold that bike last spring and miss it....
@@bkbeck1 yeah i bet you miss it. I’ll never sell it, it’s the best machine I’ve ever owned
Great video! very informative and detailed!
Thanks John. Believe it or not I still own that old bike. Runs great still.
Really helpful. Thanks so much for taking the time
Great video Thanks for posting......Love the Waterboys playing in the background.....LOL
Apply the back break so the basket does not move if you cant get the nut off.

In the process of replacing my clutch basket needle bearings but they seem like they have to get pressed into the basket. Any help would be great
How do you fix a clutch that doesn't disengage but I can shift gears when on a stand still
im assuming you figured this out but that can be worn springs pad or over adjusted push rod not allowing the clutch to fully engage

Im going through same thing now on my 07 clutch basket should have no play any play cause basket to wobble which causes the rattle noise
fukin like makin coffee. well to me it is.
I suspect it might be your kick start gear/shaft assembly. You should be able to purchase this on ebay for under 50 bucks. Good luck!

What size socket did you use
are you referring to the single nut ? 30mm
@@bkbeck1 yes sir
I know this is irrelevant but where did you get that graphic kit?
In putting it back together what did you use to tighten the nut that you took off with the impact?
An impact
My 98 wont work if that washer is on the collar
