    Hello everyone! So in this video that you are about watch, I show myself have a Grand Mal seizure. Now before I had this seizure, I went 3 days without having a seizure. I had this seizure on Saturday, September 7th. We were just getting ready to leave to go to America. This seizure took me a long time to come back around after. I was so sick in my stomach and nauseous. And I was not fully aware. It took me a long time until I felt like my normal self again. Bless my mom for getting me through this seizure. I have no idea what I would do without her.🥇❤️

      I agree and the gorgeous dog must also be a support emotionally as well. Thank you for letting us see this because by doing so you have shown people how a seizure can look because they are not all the same. I think that people imagine it as a more physical episode. I'm terminally ill and as part of that I have seizures where I bang my head repeatedly on the floor. You are amazing and you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Xx

      The dog didn't do anything wtf? The woman was just pushing the dogs face in hers trying to force it to lick her, the dog got bored & left & the mother stuffed the camera in her face as soon as it started happening. Y'all must be blind this is such a dumb video like, what kind of epileptic makes a channel of them having seizures & puts it online for everyone to see.

    • @HolidayJZ
      @HolidayJZ 5 ปีที่แล้ว +86

      @@MeowmeowAlexandra Playing with or petting an animal can increase levels of the stress-reducing hormone oxytocin and decrease production of the stress hormone cortisol. Reduced stress can also benefit physical health. That is why the lady was doing her best to keep the dog around to help her feel better while she's going through this. People go through these things all the time and can't help it, that's why recording it isn't such an invasive action to them. Some people would like to share these moments to educate people on symptoms or for other health education purposes.

      Haley * I don’t know how long she’s been having seizures but her mom needs to keep focused on her daughter’s needs, not her own. She keeps asking Ang questions; people seizing can not respond and it can increase stress which prolongs the situation. Immediately after a seizure, the sufferer needs to sleep and it sounds like the mom knows that. So why all the repositioning, questions and comments about the need to answer Customs?! Let her rest!

      @@ambergarcia690 if they have epilepsy, it's not anything new and is just part of the disorder. People with epilepsy can have seizures frequently and no need for 911. I would know because I grew up with my brother who has epilepsy. When someone randomly out of the blue goes into a seizure, that is when it's a more medical emergency. It's something serious that just caused the seizure vs. this lady who happens to have the disorder. It's nothing to take lightly but it's clear that they are familiar/knowledgeable about what they are going through. They don't need 911 otherwise she would have.

      @@ambergarcia690 You're so rude. People that have seizures DON'T NEED to call 911 every time this happens. It's usually a part of life for those who are afflicted with a seizure disorder. As you can see, her mom isn't going bananas due to this happening.WE learn to live with this when this happens to our loved ones. Sure, it's scary. Some people are actually repulsed by others who have seizures. Whatever the case PLZ have compassion for people who live like this. Most people who are diagnosed with seizures aren't to blame for the medical issue. Sure, you can abuse alcohol and drugs and seize....Many people are born with some type of seizures. With proper medications, sometimes diet, and some people under go surgery to help with the debilitating types of seizures that can happen 100's of times per day. Others suffer from Absounce/Petit Mal seizures that look to the unsuspecting person as though someone has "lost" their train of thought. Imagine living with someone that has 275 PLUS Petit Mal seizures PER day?? My DH had 275 PLUS Petit Mal seizures per DAY that weren't medically controlled as a young boy, but at 23 yrs old he had his first Grand Mal seizure and after a few years his Grand Mal seizures were VERY difficult to control......His medications were closely monitored and CHANGED every 30-36 months because his body grew accustomed to the meds....in other words his body absorbed them as soon as he swallowed them at times.
      My DH died at just 48 yrs old due to an ER Dr's neglect (this doctor refused to do what I asked him to do as far as medications....and I was in the process of having him transferred from that ER to a local trauma center 40 miles away via Medical helicopter when he had another seizure and died.
      Lastly, its okay to not want to be around someone who seizes....but to be rude like your comment implies....that's wrong. You read the title of the video, so why even click on it? It's obvious that you've never seen a seizure, but just move on....don't comment like that. This happens every day in the world and those of us that have or have had family members with seizures learn how to deal with it, and it doesn't change the person afflicted NOR does it change the love we have for our loved ones either. It's a part of life. Maybe not something the patient signed up for as well as their families, but it's LIFE.

I didn't realize how poorly the public is educated about seizures and what to do for the person, until it happened to me. I'm trying to change that, because if we can't be cured YET, we need to end the stigma, and educate. For the people who are wondering why the mom didn't call for an ambulance, most seizures do not require medical attention. The only time they need to go to the hospital is when: 1 they get hurt at some point during the seizure or 2 it lasts too long. Otherwise it's just a waiting game. If you've never had to care for someone who has them, don't try and judge someone for how they handle it when you obviously don't know what you're talking about. It sucks watching someone you love go through that and the only thing you can do is be with them and make sure they don't get hurt.

You can see that she prepares herself ahead of time in almost every video she's posted, which is truly a blessing. Some people don't have this ability and are thrown into seizures with no warning. Akia Bowens Prevention from physical harm is the most important thing one can do. So in this case she was already sitting down in a comfortable car seat. Her mother even took the seat a bit lower which was good. If a person stands or walks when he or she is about to get a seazure its important to get them down to sit or better to lie down. The mother then hold her head when the seazures was at its strongest to prevent head injuries as her head could easily knock into objects around her and that way get injuried.

Working in a top 10 hospital, as a CCEMT-P, I've never heard of anyone have such an inefficient ICU that's divided on medical and trauma lines.
      Jesus, I won't even bother with you relating dejavu to an aura.

      I agree my only response is that you cannot “get people out of seizures” as she tried in the video. They will run their course. Whoever is with her when she has them needs to make sure she isn’t choking on her tongue or saliva and do not try to pull her body of the tense position. She’s convulsing. I’m not just saying this I am speaking from experience. My 16 year old brother passed away from epilepsy in 2018. I hope you’re okay and I’m praying for you and your fam ❤️🙏🏾

    To those unfamiliar with seizures, you should know that not all seizures are the same. As a now retired nurse, I learned that, when I began having seizures. I was first diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy when I began experiencing a deja vu feeling, prior to the seizure. My eyes remained open but I couldn't move.
    Watching this video, it reminds me of a patient of mine who had status epilepticus, where a person has seizure after seizure, with only brief interludes in between. It also appears this is the case with this young lady. It also looks like she is having more than 1 type of seizure. The first episode looks more like an absence or petit mal seizure where she spaces out, but her eyes remain open & there is not the severe jerking that is seen in subsequent seizures.
    I have 3 types of seizures. I have temporal lobe seizures as well as petit mal & grand mal seizures. However, I only had grand mal seizures that starts when I am sleeping. As the seizure begins, my husband told me that my eyes open, my jaw clenches shut & my muscles jerk so hard that the entire bed shakes. However, I am not aware of anything, according to my husband, until about 15 minutes after the jerking stops. That is normal & is called the postictal state, which can vary in length.
    You can clearly see in her eyes when she is coming out of the postictal state. It is also common for a person who is having repeated seizures to be sleepy after seizures. It is also harder on the family member watching their loved one go through the seizure(s) than it is the person having the seizures, because they are not aware of what is going on during the seizure & a period of time after the seizure stops. If they have status epilepticus, there really isn't that break from the seizures to be fully cognizant.
    He said he talked to me during the seizures, but I never heard him. The only thing I remember is looking up & he's standing by the bed with a worried look on his face & I asked him why he was staring at me. I finally decided it was time to see an epileptologist. Prior to seeing an epileptologist & receiving a proper diagnosis, a previous neurologist told me I was having anxiety attacks. The epileptologist finally diagnosed me with the 3 types of seizures I mentioned above. At first I thought the epileptologist was wrong & full of it, but after he prescribed Keppra XR for me, I have been seizure free for 8 years.
    Angelique, I hope you can find a good epileptologist & I also wish you the same success in controlling your seizures as I have.

      @@zacherymarshall1399 When having a petit mal seizure, I could hear "mumbling" sounds, but not distinct words. As for moving, as I stated in my original post, no I couldn't move. That usually started when I had the deja vu feeling. My petit mal seizures never lasted long, but I would have them numerous times a day. Thankfully Keppra XR has controlled all of my seizures.

      @traumaqueen45 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@OneDirection2V Seizures are different with each person. A lot depends on what area of the brain is affected. That determines what type of seizure & the severity. A lot also depends on what caused the seizure. For many, their seizures began as kids. As for why Cameron Boyce died, only his family can answer that question. It is rare for someone to die when having a seizure, but it can happen. That is referred to SUDEP, which is sudden unexpected death in epilepsy.
