    I was diagnosed with sever sleep apnea out of nowhere, all american doctors asked me to go for surgery and use the cpap machine for the rest of my life, but instead i went on kapha reducing diet and after2 months I am almost cured, may be few more weeks and i'l be completely off cpap and mouth guard.!

    Interesting. So I was probably born PItta but Kapha got out of balance and took over in my mid-late teens. That makes so much sense! I couldn't understand why I didn't have any troubles before puberty then started having digestive issues and it just spiralled from there.... Thankyou so much! That helps me understand where to start and where I may need to pay attention later. I'm definitely mostly kapha now but I have so many Pitta characteristics.

    This is my prakriti,yet i grew up in a hectic and emotionally unsafe family,leading to Vata elevations. WHat i need is to strengthen,elevate my Kapha. I have strong bones,big lips,and mentally/emotionally like Kapha if i did not have so much Vata and Pitta elevation. It is what feels naturally comfortable,Being Kapha,and i am returning to my natural state.

    You have been really helpful on this topic. Thank you for subtly hinting at the metaphysical cause as well (if something happened recently and you started putting on weight ..... then you are Kapha Vikriti) a lot insight there, wished you would have elaborated more on it to help inspire more clarity about the root cause of the same (just to be able to pin point the emotion)

    I know kapha type shouldn't intake a lot of water. But what if you're trying to lose weight. All western diets say that you should drink 2 liters of water a day. Does this also count for kapha? I am confused.

      You should definitely be drinking two liters of water a day. 👍
      I've heard Kapha types often have problems with mucus in their respiratory tract, e.g., so it makes even more sense to drink lots of water to make the mucus more fluid.
      Also, lots of carbs make your body retain water. (I'm not into low-carb diets though.)

    Sahara, from where did you get this criteria to judge Kapha? i.e. putting our hand around our wrist (it seems like correct but I have never heard about it, so I want very authentic conclusion about it), I am born in a family were Ayurveda is being practised from the generations.

      DAN JETHWA - I read organic coffee in moderation is ok but herbal teas are better but warm water with ginger is best. Coffee is acidic and dehydrates which can add mucas and deplete energy. Cortisol is released when consuming caffeine and that comes from your adrenal glands which provide energy but if they are constantly stimulated they can burn up and energy then is pulled from bone density and that can cause osteoporosis, depression, anxiety,inflammation, ect. Warm ginger water is actually best for khapa per Dr.: Namaste.

      Usha Choudhary hi usha, i lost my weight through power yoga, as i have pcos so its really tough to lose weight. In my academy very few managed to lose weight even if they worked so hard, doing 150 times surya namaskar, but i did it successfully because i scheduled everything. I used to wake up 5am in the morning. Its really imp yo wake up 40 mins prior the sunrise to balance this. You have to synchronise ur body clock with the sun. Its highly mandatory. So wake up before sunrise, drink 4 glasses of normal water, preferably matke ka in summers, that too siting on the ground. And eat breakfast before 7-9.30am thats wen jathar agni is active.
