Girly, your hair is absolute gorgeous! I got a silk press my last birthday. I was amazed. Seeing that black women like me, can do any hairstyles, straight, curly, or wavy, just makes my heart warm up more and more. Thank you for making this video. This made me even more proud of my race. ✨❤
Ive had such a successful hair care/ growth journey from watching your videos, finally got my hair length way beyond the length i had before with all the trauma i put my hair through. I got inches😝periodt. Love you and your content.
Holding onto split ends are some peoples preference. People have attachments to their hair. Has nothing to do with being Black. No need to bring down other Black women to life this one up.
@@Shequanya I'm not concerned with what others do. That's their business. I also don't compare myself/Melanated women to those totally different from us. I hope that makes sense....
Facts!!! You’re right, as a black woman, the majority of the time it do be us. Of course, it is each individual’s prerogative if they want to walk around with split ends. People always want to find a reason to be offended.
Welcome back! You have beautiful long and healthy hair. I have tailbone length hair and a similar curl pattern and trim twice a year. I love to see others straighten their hair. It helps motivate me to do mines 🤭
Hi girly, i just want to firstly say your hair is gorgeous and really healthy. But just in case you didnt know, although your hair is see through at the ends or is sticking out and looks layered. That doesn’t necessarily mean you have to cut it. Split ends are different from uneven hair. If your hair doesnt have visual splits or tiny knots then those arent split ends. Plus your hair is really long so its normal 🫶 though i understand that a lot of people do not like the uneven look. I hope my comment doesnt come off rude or anything. I have long hair too, and the words of what hair dresser told me was true and he told me a lot of people cut too much hair bcs they think the ends are not healthy. He said that the top of your hair will always be healthy because its new growth while the ends dont look as good because its old growth. Either way the end results look stunning!
Hey. I understand your perspective & I agree because some people definitely have a more layered look naturally! I cut where it’s see through and up the hair shaft if needed based on preference ☺️ it’s much easier for me to maintain an even cut than a layered one. Length hasn’t been a concern or a goal of mine for some time now, so that’s why I do my trims the way I do. Also, even though the see through ends may not ALWAYS be damaged or split…leaving thin areas can potentially lead to more breakage during styling. I hope this makes sense! Thank you for sharing 🫶🏾
So glad you're back missed your gorgeous self😢❤ i love your videos so much so ive been patiently waiting for a new upload 😭they are so educational and i love your energy and omg gurl i feel like yo hair definately got longer since!! 😱😝😂 Slayyyyy
This is motivating me to actually get up and wash my hair. Just took my knotless braids out yesterday and yes, my ends are in need of some inches gone. Our hair is about the same in every way, though I think my curls are a little tighter than yours. I’m ready to cut a smooth 8 inches off so I don’t sit on it anymore. Your hair looks amazing. Hopefully I can get close.
You are so brave. That cut hurt my heart! And it wasnt even my hair. I meed abiut half that cut off and im im in complete denial. Well.....maybe not complete. 😮
I was going to buy a universal attachment! I think not! You have every device I have😂I have to use very small pieces for my RevAir or else the drying shuts off and it’s just air. Really annoying! You did a great job! 👏🏽
I feel you on that universal attachment. I have a dryer I have kept for so many years and the attachment I bought always flying off 😂. Also I have been thinking of getting the revair now I feel it’s a must. I saw a trichologist last year and she used the revair on me. It was the best drying experience I have ever had. So I feel like I need to get mine 😂❤ASAP
What would you do if some dead ends are higher? Do you do the twist and trim methods? Here I am watching this after waiting almost 4 years for a trim. Went to a curly hair salon and I dont ever want another person playing with my hair.
Hey Girl, so I do the “search and destroy” method for split ends that are higher up because I don’t usually have an abundance of them. I also only trim my ends on straight hair. I’ve tried other methods but they don’t give me the best results. Let me know if you have other questions! Thank you for watching 😇
Thank you Beautiful lady, for sharing great commentary, (alongside your Crowning in Glory Beautiful Hair😊)... 1 Corinthians 11:15 15 but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering~ KJV⚘️.
After a seven-year hair health and growth journey, I have hip/butt length hair too, but my curls are tighter than yours. I have never done a protein treatment. If my hair is not colored or damaged, do I need to? Why do *you* do them? Kat’s Kurls, another influencer with long beautiful hair, does them too. It makes me wonder if I’m missing something. 🤔
@@JayHayes Thank you so much for help and tips! Every time in the past I’ve flattened my hair I got some sort of heat damage so I’m always nervous now.
I’m sorry you’ve experienced some heat damage. Remember to always properly prep your hair with treatments, heat-protectant, a good blow-out and 1 pass with the flat iron. Try to avoid adding more heat to it & always follow up with moisturizing treatments after you’re done wearing your hair straight. Hope this helps !
I would not use the RevAir for several reasons: 1) My main gripe is that while drying your roots, your already-dry ends remain sitting in the hose being needlessly exposed to heat. 2) With a traditional blow dryer, I can apply heat where and for how long I want or need it. 3) I’ve heard the RevAir doesn’t stretch and straighten the roots the way a blow dryer can. 4) How do you thoroughly clean the hose? 5) I like the fluff and volume I can achieve with a traditional blow dryer. 🥰
Hello Jay, your hair is so pretty! ❤I have hopes of getting my hair to your length. Thank you so much for all of your hair tips. What's the brand of the flat irons you are using? What temperature do you set it to before you flat iron your hair? I would like to pass it through my hair only one time just like you😊
@@JayHayes Before using Aphogee 2-Step Protein Treatment, do you use shampoo and conditioner? because I see that after the Aphogee Balancing moisturizer you use shampoo and treatment again.
Heyyy so yes, I did shampoo before bc this product is supposed to be applied to clean hair. After I rinsed the step 2 balancing moisturizer out I followed up with a shampoo & conditioning treatment so I could get the best silk press results possible. Hope this helps 🫶🏾
Low porosity hair shouldn’t OVERUSE products with protein. Every hair type needs protein though. Look for products that have “hydrolyzed protein” in the ingredients! 🙂
Do you consider yourself a straight natural. Does your hair last longer straight since you’ve been doing it so long or has it always stayed straight with little reversion?
No I don’t consider myself a straight natural. & it hasn’t always stayed straight with little reversion, it wasn’t until I started prepping my hair a certain way that I was able to wear it straight for so long.
