      @@XNBeatsMusic For sure after tinkering around with it for about 3 months the first video was a little bit of review but I watched it because knowing how you do your video I knew I was going to pick up new info so I watched the entire thing and got some valid info but this here is going to expand my knowledge for sure

      @@XNBeatsMusic Yeah man the part where you can modulate each step in the step sequencer when using it to modulate a parameter exploded my mind not to mention that the intensity can then be modulated on top of that is just a brand new way to think about sound design for me

    This video is gold! You are laying out in plain language so many subjects that have been confusing to me for a long time. You explain the roles of the different parts exemplarily. I never really got started with the wavestate, but now that feels much more tempting to me. Thanks a lot!

      Thanks Lars, Glad you liked it. And yeah, it is a bit overwhelming at first, but then you peel the layers (no pun intended) and it's not that hard.

    these are by far the best WaveState tutorials on the web. Everything is easy to get and you don't have gaps in your explanation unlike others I've seen. And your spirit and enthusiasm for the instrument come through. I hope you find timesome day for one on the vector synthesis process. Thank you and hope you are loving your life.

    I really appreciate this; the last synth I bought was a Korg MicroX many years ago to use together with other stuff with my electric guitar and this is a whole new world. I feel out of my depth with this machine and have so far just modified the presets using an external sequencer; however while watching this I realise I can get a whole more out of this machine than I’d previously imagined. I’ll be going over this stuff over and over again ( As one aged in their late 60s I find the increasing complexity of this stuff mind blowing; it is hard to keep up!).
    Thank You!.

    • @twiglet2214
      @twiglet2214 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm similar age but that might not be the issue ? If we hear say a violin or cello for example played well do we think - yeah i can do that i'll order one online now - watch a few youtube reviews,find out which one's are ok,click on buy it now,watch maybe a few more videos and be able to play it - without any knowledge or tuition in music theory - these things play themselves,right ?...Wrong ! Well that was my experience with my Wavestate but glad to say i can afford weekly piano/keyboard lessons and i'm enjoying learning the language of music - learning chords,scales etc which i never dreamt of but for me it's totally necessary to be able to progress if i want to ' play ' my synths etc. Totally agree they are complex - this tutorial and it's companion are over 4 hours which is fantastic. Perhaps the bottom line is - if i walked into a music shop and said i wanted to buy a piano for example they may well ask what level of playing i am at, what i want it for to meet my needs etc etc. With this electronic music creation gear i think there's a misconception that all you need to do is buy A B or C - or maybe all 3 then problem solved !
      Agreed the chances of finding all the tricks shown here,by accident,are pretty remote but then i had a music teacher for a year and made very little progress but recently realized something was up - had a consultation with Dylan my new teacher and it;s a whole different ball game and i'm reinvigorated and enjoying learning again ( at 69 ).Hope that makes sense and thank goodness for youtube and people who are prepared to give their time to benefit and help others by sharing their knowledge.

    I just sold mine, already to much synths!! Neutron and Minilogue xd guides were very helpful!!! Considering any elektron tutorials in the future??

    • @XNBeatsMusic
      @XNBeatsMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is fine, when you don't click with the synth, better let it go. Unless elektron contacts me.....don't think so. Buying elektron gear in my country is ultra expensive, crazy expensive. Elektron has no interest in shipping here, I live on a very low demand country so I need either to go to the US or Europe to get it and pay crazy import taxes. So...don't think is going to happen :(
      But yeah, I would love to to cover any of the Elektron series.

    • @303machine
      @303machine 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@XNBeatsMusic I would not report bought Elektron to my country's customs. I use every possible way to not pay 25% taxes for bought goods, and for what? That taxes goes to corrupted criminal political parasites and it does not improve government (public) services and infrastructure.
      By the way, great tutoriral it is much needed. This is complex synthesizer because of possibilities, unlike subtractive synthesizers or subtractive synthesis in general with simple concept easy to grasp, even if using modulars. Another complex synthesis is FM/PD.

    • @XNBeatsMusic
      @XNBeatsMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@303machine Thanks man. It's a great synth if you are looking for something else.
      And yeah, political corruption, my country invented it....

    • @303machine
      @303machine 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@XNBeatsMusic Wavestate is unique among synthesizers because there is not many vector synthesis hardware synths around, except Prophet VS inspired Behringer VS & Soul, but it is not Wavestation like.
      Many are disparaging Wavestate as Raspberry ROMpler. Whatever, I know it could not sound as powerful as WT, subtractive VA synths in most basic sound waveforms, as VA synths don't sound as good as real analogues when you push it to the limit (hint, aliasing, filter resonance) but its strength is coming from vector synthesis, 4 part multitimbrality and wave sequencing 2.0. Real instrument samples is providing Wawestate as nice soundcape, pad, movie soundtrack synthesizer.
      Modwave is another great WT based synth from Korg with Serum patches compatibility, I would like HW only setup because of instability of Windows and bunch of plug-ins leading to ocassional crashes, but I already own bunch of Wavetable VSTs and don't have to much space for hardware synthesizers, except maybe for rack versions or size of Blofeld synths alike.

    • @XNBeatsMusic
      @XNBeatsMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@303machine yes, Wavestate is a pad monster, maybe you need some movement in your track or something to merge the track. That is what it is it for. If you want analog sound, get an analogue synth....get the minilogue. Great analog, good price.
      The thing is that people sometimes want the everything machine. And that already exists, it's called a PC and plugins.
      I my case, I use wavestate when I want something else, or when there is maybe something mising, either a combination of sound or a sequence. And I love it for it, it's inspiring and creative.
      For analogue sound I've got my other synths.

    In saving setlists: I created a new set list with the editor software, found it in utility, was able to save to banks 1, 2, 3, and then when I saved to bank 4, it also saved to bank 1 that same performance. Sometimes it gives me the message to overwrite, and sometimes it doesn't... with the same exact process. Would love your help

    Hey there, great videos. did both in a row. My main question isn^t answered tho.
    Is it possible to assign the filters to all 4 Layers? could be possible with 4 modulations assigned to a macro knob, but this seems tedious and sounds bad even with one layer.
    I havent found a way to do this , maybe I am stpid. Thx for the help.
