NOTICE AFTER REWATCHING: I think timeline wise this is them reading this information that happened before they were created and then after getting this information they shut themselves off for whatever their mission is. Now we just need to see who in the story managed to get the other AI or if we will collect them all.
When she says "This document is from Eridus time..." I took it as a statement but she says more as a question. So this is also their first time seeing this info. I do think the White Star Institute made the AI's since the strongbox was taken from them.
I think that the White Star Institute is just the remnants of Helios. There is only one kind of White Star after all, the White Dwarf.
I have to point out like you know that flashback of wise and Belle suck to zero hollow cause I see that pillar is from zero hallow and I see the Cutscene when you choose wise you get Belle interaction with her brother his sister said that he likes documentary old stuff which mean they are living in zero hallow and meet the professor probably become their teachers for very long time until they were out from hallow zero their goal and motive in mc have something to with their teachers I'm guess that our mc is also old is like fauzan for example

You're missing the part were the reports about the Void Hunters are from Eridu's foundation... they are waaay older than the reports of the fall of old eridu.
If anything, everything the Void Hunters did was what helped Eridu to establish itself and avoid it's destruction and the death of all the citizens.
That's why they said the mayor of Eridu (the first one, if we go by the quote in the description) gave them the title of Void hunters.
And one last point... if they are heroes, why are their documents sealed, encripted and restricted? What did they do that made the Eridu's goverment to seal their records? The only thing that comes to mind is that the reports are simply very old.

Fairy being a total mystery to us (Wise/Belle) is gonna be such a long term story hook. Also it could be revealed way later. Genshin opening gave us Unknown God, and we still have not met her afterwards for almost 4 years now. Hope Fairy's lore gets revealed earlier.

I think the reason why they aren't mentioned in game is literally because of consistency reasons. The ingame characters currently DO NOT have the capacity or resource to get this kind of information from the Inter-Knot Defense System, with Fairy being the only exception, and since Fairy is part of this whole thing, she has her own objective per her contract so this PV info she won't just diverge willingly.
So making it into a past event PV, with us players watching it from a Out-of-character POV, it both fill us in on crucial historical info, while keeping the ingame character's knowledge within immersive/believable limit. They will need some efforts, serious resource to obtain this info in the story in the future.
What if the PV is taking the POV of Jinni of of the 4 entities that corrupting the database ?? 👀

And yea I agree with the newly activated Fairy that's the only gate for the MC to access this info.
And that makes me wonder, why the Fairy now sounds so robotic and monotone compared to this fairy in the video, considering the current Fairy also shows some personality resemblance with the past Fairy
@CelesNihility the only reason why that doesn't make sense to me rn is that the sibling after Hollow Zero is gushing over working with Miyabi because she is a Void Hunter. So they do KNOW that the void hunters exist and must have records of the past members in some capacity.

shrinking a hollow for about 37km with only 3 people is an insane feat
absolutely, at first i didnt think it was that amazing until i remembered that the cunning hares only pushed the hollow back a few meters after killing the butcher.
you know what? i will save polychrome only for them i hope they will playable in the future,the big guy is a baddas , i cant wait to see their action in game.
belle and wise said their childhood is in the old city and have personal connection. they also said that they had a teacher, maybe thats prof arche. so timeline wise maybe about ten years ago(?). feel free to add

New era might have started after Hollow came to the world or descended for the first time (?? what are those even and when did they appear) at least that's how devs handle the story in different game i play so that might be something similar@AzrialVanity

If you pay attention, when we get first introduced to Hollow Zero, they showed keen interest in it and also mentioned that they have an objective there, an objective that they didnt tell Fairy. Its also why they were so interested in getting a legal permit to investigate the place. Also Phaeton, is the son of the Sun god Helios. And guess who just so happened to found an academy named Helios? Thats right, professor arche who founded the Helios Academy who also coincidentally disappeared in Hollow Zero
It's actually mad interesting too, I love how these units arent just like the harbingers or something but they're actually the people who shaped the current world. Sunbringer created bangboos, Joyous pioneered the navigation of the hollows, etc. The people who pushed the Dark Wall back (if im understanding correctly) must have killed literal thousands upon thousands of Ethereals since killing Ethereals shrinks the individual hollow. Crazy lore drop
I hope those 7 void hunters are not dead, every single one of them is peak design.
It would be dissapointing for them to put that much effort into their designs just to not make them playable at all.

Some of them give the impression of being immortal, but most of them seem quite normal, plus they will have lived many years ago so who knows if they haven't already aged and died
If we look at the hollows as a point of distortion in space with a radius that increases according to how much ether it contains/generates, it stands to reason that one could appear anywhere. That includes in the air or even within the earth. The video does show a large hollow above the map. A big enough hollow would block out the sun from the ground, therefore we can conclude that sunbringer destroying that hollow(the Hive lord hollow) and bringing back the sunlight to Eridu is what gave her the title of "Sunbringer"

@@AzrialVanity I think they have fixed points of origin and expand outward in all directions. If you look at the last map view you can see that one of the hollows is slightly poking through the side of the Chasm, indicating that it's a complete sphere and not just a dome over the ground. We'll have to wait and see if one pops up in the air later in the story or if they include in game lore entries for the hive lord hollow to confirm that it was in the air. I'm pretty confident in that theory.

Ok here are my interpretations and theories. For the sake of reference, I have just completed chapter 2.
I think it's easiest to frame all this in terms of a timeline
First, at an indeterminate time in the past, we have the emergence of hollows. Some time after that, all the individual void hunters started fighting back against the hollows. Both the 'Divine Maze Hollow' and the 'Hive Lord Hollow' were 2 different hollows in the past, separate from any current hollows (Also no, I don't think the hive lord hollow is on the moon lol). I am not entirely sure what the 'Dark Wall' is, but I think it's either a chain of hollows or 1 giant hollow (or maybe something brand new).
Through their efforts, a city named Eridu could prosper. Looking at the first mayor's quote in the description, it is possible that Eridu was formed after the onset of the hollows. In either case, this city continued to thrive for decades to come.
10-20 years ago, Hollow Zero suddenly appears within Eridu. It was incredibly destructive and forced all survivors to migrate to New Eridu. It created 6 new hollows, which are called the original hollows. So far in the story, I have encountered the Cretan and Lemnian hollows. Neither of them seem to be within New Eridu, but rather bordering both New Eridu and Eridu.
Shortly after Hollow Zero, the record in the video was created. This is probably when Professor Arche also entered Hollow Zero.
1-5 years ago, Phaeton was formed, and the siblings went into proxy business. This is also likely the time when the 4 AIs went off line
And then we have present day, with us controlling Phaeton
Apart from that, I have a few other notes about stuff related to what was shown in the teaser
The Voidhunters: Since the girl in the video says "her successors", we can assume that it has been at least a couple of generations since the founding of Eridu. I'm fairly certain that all of them are dead by now. Except of course, Professor Arche. He was around even during Hollow Zero, which leads me to the conclusion that he is immortal. If I were to guess, he is still alive within Hollow Zero
The Chasm: At first, I was confused as to how the Chasm existed, because we managed to drive all the way to Scott Outpost all willy nilly, even though it borders Hollow Zero. But then I realized, HZ simply expanded and consumed the Chasm. I wonder if a future HZ stage would have something to do with the Chasm. Maybe we'll learn how it formed, because I can't think of a reason for it to exist
The Old Civilization: Now with this trailer, the old civilization mentioned throughout the game could either be referring to the times before the hollows, or to the time of Eridu. Also interestingly, since Hollow Zero was the first Hollow in Eridu, Eridu must have survived countless years without a hollow. It could mean that they had a hollow blocker of some sort, which has now been lost to time.
And now for my final, most conspiracy theory laden note
The "Package": So in the video, the unknown voices were tracking Phaeton, and hacked through the interknot firewall to drop a package. The siblings on the other hand own a system called the HDD, which is a massive database of hollow data and allows them to sync up with Eous. It also had an AI voice assistant, before Fairy replaced it. What if, the package these guys were talking about was the HDD. The voices covertly installed the HDD on the twin's system via the interknot, and that is what allowed Phaeton to become the best proxy in the biz.
Since the HDD was created by the Helios institute, it suggests that the voices were from the Helios institute instead of the White Star institute. That would also explain why they were surprised by the sudden reawakening of Fairy. If they were part of the Whitestar institute, they would've known that the strongbox containing Fairy was stolen. As to why she was in the hands of the WSI anyways? I have no clue.

I’m PRAYINGG that we get some of the void hunters as playable characters, and if not then hopefully their descendants😭 also something to note is that Lady Sunbringer has the exact same eyes as Kiana’s void-drifter battlesuit and similar hair so there’s that.

14:30 I think the dark wall is a massive hollow that originates from somewhere in the core of the planet. I think it’s basically encompassed the entire planet except for some remaining land around New Eridu.
I think the best way to get an idea how it looks it to look that the moon in game. Basically half of it is swallowed by a hollow.

the fall of Old Eridu and hollow zero seems to have happened 10ish years ago bc most of the characters lived through it, and koleda specifically seems to have been a toddler or a little older when it happened.

I don't think they spawn from the sky and fall down but rather, they can spawn in the air and just... hang/float there? Unless that's what you meant.
Lady Sunbringer could be (or could've been) some sort of goat/ram Thiren and her horns are simply "reinforced"/replaced kinda like how Lycaon replaced his legs.
The only contradiction being that her horns are her only defining features.
Since the Hallows can bend time and space it's possible that these characters could be seen/obtained eventually.
The two voices are not the AI, they seems to be either the Creators or at the very least the previous owners of the AI's. Also we hear them in the Story shortly after we got Fairy.
I had the same reactions to the lore bomb they dropped. I honestly couldn't make sense out of a third of it because I breezed through the quests, but I got the same chills that I got during the first time they talked about Fairy being activated as one of the "keys". Realized during that part of the prologue that, 'oh damn, we are in for a looong ride'.

We said we are from Eridu, no? Are we like, super old? Or were we on ice? Or maybe… maybe we are from Eridu after it became “Old” Eridu. I propose that we hail from Hollow Zero, that the professor is still there, and he found a way to create/transform/stabilise life. I propose that Professor Arche is the “father”, Ether is the “mother” and Hollow Zero is the “womb”.

I think the Fall of the Old Capital (Old Eridu) is recent, give or take maybe around 10-20 years, since a lot of NPCs and characters also said that they used to live in the Old Capital.
The information about these people on the lore teaser and them being in the era of "Eridu's time" is likely from before the fall of the Old Capital. Remember that Eridu is the last remaining city of human civilization since the Hollow issue has likely been happening for a really long time.
They mentioned a "Dark Wall" that 3 of the void hunters fended off, my Theory is the "Dark Wall" is likely the borders outside of the Eridu area where the Hollow has completely consumed the world and surrounded the area around the city itself, but that's just my assumption. The "Dark Wall" could may as well also refer to another large Hollow that appeared before.
As for the reason on how they survived for so long is precisely due to the contributions of these 7 Void Hunter people, they have fended off disaster and discovered ways to combat and contain Hollows, and even made them sources of energy via the Shiyu Pillars to power the city, and so Eridu must've existed for a long time before it fell with the appearance of Hollow Zero and established a New Eridu which is the setting of the present story.
Dark Wall is probably a gigantic hollow, idk if it is supposed to be Hollow Zero, may be just a name for the outer edge of it advancing and consumming things. That makes it pretty impressive that just 3 people reduced it by 37 kilometers, i think it was mentioned that hollows grow smaller with less ethereal activity in them, so, in short, these 3 rampaged through it
Edit: I also believe "Era" here is used in the meaning of a new period of time that starts after X event. If a king dies and another takes its place, that's a new era. it doesnt even have to be a hundred years or anything silly, a decade or two works. Any period of time after the old capital fell IS a new era.

I don't think any of these guys are dead, mostly because the main siblings said they grew up in Eridu, meaning the fall of the old capital must have taken place somewhere in the recent past (maybe 10-15 years ago?). I'm not that far along in the story yet tho so if there's conflicting info later on please feel free to share.
@Fullmetal_Gacha in this trailer, though they mention that the sword master was Miyabi's ancestor, and so it must have been at least a full generation apart.
There is a lot of weird mentions of the fall of the old capital, and it is not lining up at all in the game. I'm still trying to figure out a decent timeline of events

The Hoshimi Sword Master looks almost exactly like Miyabi so initially I just thought it was her but then the line about successors made me think she could be Miyabi’s mother/grandmother(?) though their resemblance seems a little much.
But if the fall of the old capital was more than a generation before the main story that raises the question of how the MCs ‘grew up’ there? Like they would’ve been babies as the fall was happening with this timeline. I’m really looking forward to Miyabi’s release now to answer a few of these questions.
I was thinking that the mcs actually dont know the full history. Their teacher just left them behind his work and they are trying to investigate further, but they don't know any details bc those were kept secret.
"Here lies Phaethon... he failed..." And I think they might not be the first Phaethon, there was one before them that already tried and failed to do whatever their goal is, in the old Eridu times. What I'm getting to, all that is happening is history repeating itself. Old Eridu has been through that and now the same is happening to New Eridu. People don't know about old Eridu history though, so to them it's new. Only our mcs have bits of info from the teacher.
The AIs are from old Eridu and went to sleep until someone awakes them, the mcs had the materials for that. Thats why I think, helios tried investigating the hollows and stop them, they failed, but they prepared AI for the future generations to learn from their mistakes.
All a big maybe, but I do like this theory.

The story of this game is actually progressing slowly, but because of that I understand the whole story lol
No way they made the Elysia-looking girl the thumbnail by chance. I would not be surprised if the girl in this teaser is some version of Haxxor Bunny.
The whole time I've been playing the game and watching the teaser I'm getting massive HI3 Arc: Light Bound and Shattered Dimensions Vibe with the settings and how Bronie's original bubble world fell then she was taken by Luna to Arc City bubble world like how the phaeton siblings were from Eridu and then went to new Eridu after Eridu fell, then them leading a dual life as well like Bronie. After that we get the world slowly being physically smushed by some forces in both settings.
Then watching this video and seeing that "...power to accomplish miracles" line being similar to that of Captain as well as realising that they the bubble worlds in Captainverse uses 'Ether" anchors to stabilize them. It just seals the deal for me that this game is giant homage or even a pseudo spin-off of those stories. Or maybe I'm just too much of a Captainverse nerd, who knows lol.
I do not know why ppl where shitting on the story. From pre-release I find it was so interesting. Just the idea of hollows and how they were utilized and the question of where they came from is hella interesting. This trailer is just more pie for my picnic :D

I didn't start chapter 2 yet so I don't know a lot about the lore. But to me this video is giving name to the Void Hunters and seems like they won the title fighting the hollow.

So this seems like the hunters existed with Old Eridu and they were fighting outside the city. Now I don't know if the others named hollows existed before Hollow Zero (they have a different naming style) or if Hollow Zero was the first one but in a small scale and after the Professor entered Hollow Zero the hollow expanded and the detroy of Old Eridu happened.
in the first floor, left side of the computer/HDD, in the corner, you can see a group picture of Belle, Wise and other students with their face erased. I'm gonna assume that that photo was taken when they were in Helios academy.
The Elysia look-a-like might still be alive, she seems to be from an angel race of some sort mixed with elf (her ears are pointy?), so there's a possibility she have a long life span.

I don't know if they will do this but I kind of hope they make these characters playable even if they are not actively alive in the story like honkai impact (or so I hace heard I haven't actively played honkai impact in a very long time but I have heard that some characters are playable but are not necessarily alive or in the story someone

I was skeptical about the ‘hoyo lore’ from the beta so I was cautious to be invested, but with new cutscenes they have been keeping close to the chest and this, that is pretty good already

in ch2 koleda talks about how "the night before the old capital fell, a large sum of money disappeared" while talking about khors and khors talks about hollows in her memories, he was building smart machinery exclusively for hollows, so they already existed from an indefinite amount of time.
maybe the two things are separated? maybe those are void hunters from the past who faced a previous crisis from which old eridu recovered at that time?
the lore trailer says: "Eridu's founding report, key players in the suppression of the catastrophe" it talks about suppression... so the problem was ""solved"" at that time?
I think hollow zero emerged long long ago and that the void hunters in this video kept it under control, arche entered into hollow zero in this time. an era later we had the city's inevitable fall (in belle, wise, koleda and everyone else's time)
"dark wall" maybe just refer to the hollow's black wall, in the story they said that hollows shrinks by killing corrupted enemies so they probably killed so many that it shrunk by 37km (wow)

I saw another creator note that in the beginning cutscene where you boot up the hdd you see its made by helios. but they didnt note that the author is bw. belle and wise? i think sunbringer and joyous hooked up. wise looks to similar to him and them having basically a foster home for bangboo just makes too much sense.

Ok, so i have a cracked theory, so hear me out (also, my English is not the best sorry )
So my crack theory is that soldier eleven and Anvy are clones of lady sunbringer why because;
First lady sunbringer looks a lot and i mean a lot like kianna ( specifically void drifter with the horns and different eye color )
Second kiana is clone of the real kiana i think? It's been a while since i played honkai 3rd but kianna has things too fo with clones
Ok now the crack lady sunbringer has white hair like anby and soldier but more importantly her eyes are blue and orange blue lighting organge fire ( the game depicts fire as more orange then red )

So why make a clone of lady sun welll that's because i think all of the void hunters disappeared or are doing there own things like a think lady sun is on the moon becaus you know kiana and she eradicate the hallow in the sky and the moon is in the sky and there is a hallow on the moon so maybe after she eradicate the one in the dky she went on the moon to eradicate that one or something like that and so with most of the void hunters gone i think the government tried to clone them to still have people protecting them
And that's my crack theory i don't completely believe in it like i only believe the lady sun =kiana part but yeah that's my theory

where is the best slot to put your main dps and is it better to wait for miyabi if you don't particularly want ellen. also do we know when miyabi is coming out
@daymi7300 I normally put my attack on the second slot with the support on the first, only reason I do this is so after I use the support skill and can use the quick tag in assist, it will switch to my attack unit. This can be done if you have the attack unit in Slot1 and support in slot 3 as well.
We do not know when miyabi will release nor do we know what role she will be

I also had my atk in slot 2 with support in spot 1 but in hollow 0 and you can only bring one unit at a time in slot one so I was thinking maybe it would be better to get used to main dps in slot 1. I managed to do it with support in slot 1 alone but I'm guessing it'll get a lot harder later on and you'll want to have your dps in leader position.

@hawk8149 considering his appearance i would have to assume he has tested Ether on himself and sort of transcended a human form. However normally yes someone would have turned by now
