I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (May 19), this was the basis for our Sunday School Lesson of the Day. It was entitled "Called to Mutual Acceptance."
The gentiles(better rendered NATIONS) that Paul was referring to were the nation’s(or tribes) of the Previously divorced and scattered House of Israel.
The first mistake this pastor makes is he uses the term ‘Jews’ to refer to ALL of ISRAEL. The Jews (better rendered Judahites) were only the 2 tribes of the House of Judah....the tribes Judah, and Benjamin.
In agreement with this whole message I loosen the word of romans 11:17-24, 2 corinthians 6:14-15, matthew 6:24, 1 john 3:10 for myself, my opponents and the body of Christ to be rooted in faith in Christ, while there will be no unequal yoke and common share with any evildoer serving satan, in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah!
