MY PATREON: patreon.com/ashleypatricia This month's commentary line-up is THE LOST BOYS, THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT and TALK TO ME so come join the community! 🤍
There was an Alamo Drafthouse not too far from me in downtown Kalamazoo, MI that I really loved going to but it closed a year or two before the pandemic, which was so disappointing. My best memory was going to a midnight screening of Phantasm and it was so awesome. "Mother!" reminded me of "Beau is Afraid" because the horrible, horrible anxiety I experienced while watching both films.
The Florida Project is such a beautiful film. The performances are so authentic that it's almost like watching a documentary. Excellent pick from Dalton. Tangerine is another wonderful film from the same director. Switching gears for a second, have you seen the trailer for A Complete Unknown (the Bob Dylan movie staring Timothée Chalamet)? I'm curious to hear your thoughts if you got a chance to see it. It played before the showing of Trap that I went to and I was blown away by his performance (at least based on the few bits we were shown). I think he nailed the look, the mannerisms and most importantly the sound. I'm really looking forward to this one.
Tangerine is another one I need to see, adding it to my watchlist now! And I just watched the trailer for A Complete Unknown and wow, it looks like it's going to be wonderful! Definitely looking forward to seeing it

I've also seen Phantasm at an Alamo Drafthouse (which is now also closed) lol.
Haven't seen Beau Is Afraid yet!
Funny, I feel like the sex in fast times was also only put in to make it sell more tickets, dazed and confused is better
Omg is Last Song by Sleater Kinney the song in your intro?
Yes it is!
Rewatching mother! is brave
