I totally agree with this. I'm an OG. as i know, even to this day, TVXQ (5) r the only group (in my opinion) that have the best songs, best visual, best vocal, best dance, best stage perfomance. It's like an all around group. they acapella r insane too..I bet the going huge if they still together. Untill this day, 2000's - 2010's kpop r the best (2nd gen) songs full with meaningful lyrics. my fav from tvxq : Rising Sun , What Ever They Say( acapella ver),Spellbound
@@babies.lockey23 yeah they’re good. No ones saying they aren’t good. But I think it’s obvious that in our opinion TVXQ does it better. Just how it is.
@@babies.lockey23 Even BIGBANG SEUNGRI is XIA JUNSU's fan, BTS V and J-HOPE are U-KNOW YUNHO's fan. BLACKPINK JISOO is MAX CHANGMIN's fan and many more idols idolize TVXQ! as their role models. They're good, yess, nobody denied it. And fact is TVXQ! is the IDOL of your IDOLS. so many TH-cam footages can prove it, go look for it. Thank u.
Yes sir Austin, they performed all of these live.. you should watch their Japanese concert.. they were literally the biggest bg, first one that was really famous in asia, they even have chinese and Japanese names.. super popular in japan!! There are just the 2 of them but they can fill tokyo dome in minutes! thats why they’re The the LEGEND of LEGENDS! P.S: SM timeline H.O.T, S.E.S, Shinhwa, BlockBeat, BOA, TVXQ, Super Junior, SNSD, SHinee, F(x), EXO, RV, NCT, Aespa
Keep Your Head Down is the 2 member DBSK first song after the other 3 left. Iconic song. It is basically showing these 2 can continue to carry the name of DBSK..the God from East. It is a war song. I still remember their stage performance of this song in SM Town 2020. They were the closing act there Their fandom's name is Cassiopea and on their heyday was the biggest fans club in the world. They were used to be the biggest foreign act in Japan and could sell out DOME Tour in Japan
Their last Japanese tour in 2020 also sold out all the domes, so they’re still a force to be reconned with. It’s unfortunate their XV tour was cut short due to the pandemic; that whole album is fantastic.
Yes, historically H.Ot is the first boy group , shinhwa is the second, TVXQ is the 3rd, Super Junior came some time after, then Shinee, EXO and lastly NCT. You did recognised Max in Hug.
I honestly was worried when the 3 left TVXQ (my fave vocals). I never thought the remaining 2 could carry on. Imagine how surprised I was when Keep Your Head Down was released. They slayed as a duo. I felt bad for getting worried back then. TVXQ best male group ever existed.
Have you seen Bolero from Nissan Stadium? It made me cry... they did the song good. I hope the other men are proud of them carrying on some of the legacy.
SM debut years, with small interesting facts to some of the groups. I didn’t put all SM groups, but these are some of the bigger ones, I think. 1996 - H.O.T (by many considered the first real Kpop group, made with the trainee system) 1997 - S.E.S (SM’s first girl group) 1998: Shinhwa (The longest running group without lineup changes, still has their original lineup, although they are not super active anymore (most recent comeback was in 2018, I think) 2000 - BoA (huge in both Korea and Japan, often credited as one of the first Koreans to really make it big in Japan) 2003 - TVXQ (also known as DBSK (in Korea) and Tohoshinki (in Japan). TVXQ is based on the Chinese spelling of their name. The name means “Rising gods of the east”. Also huge in Japan) 2005 - Super Junior (the first Kpop group to introduce the concept of subunits. I think they have, like, 5 or 6 subunits, if I’m counting correctly) 2007 - SNSD (Nation’s girl group, basically needs no introduction) 2008 - SHINee (my personal ultimate bias group, I could rant about them for hours, but I will spare you that) 2009 - F(x) (SM’s experimental girl group, SHINee’s sister group, and criminally underutilized by SM) 2012 - EXO (you know EXO, I doubt I need to explain them to you) 2014 - Red velvet (masters of duality) 2016 - NCT (they’re NCT, you know these guys) 2020 - Aespa (again, really don’t need at introduction at this point)
Sir, I just want you to know that TVXQ is not the King but GOD of kpop, and is an acapella group. By the way the group name means the rising god from the east. They are 3rd boy group from sm after H.O.T and Shinhwa. All members are good at singing and dancing. Their live stages are legends. Please react to these: Tonight Wrong Number Before U Go Spellbound どうして君を好きになってしまったんだろう? Stand by U 明日は来るから
When SMTown concert start before, they start with TVXQ - Rising Sun, and I got goosebumps, I don't even like the song that much but its soo iconic that you can't help but amaze with it 😳
If you like Something you will love Spellbound (2014) too and their newest Korean releases "The Chance of Love" and "Love Line" which are totally different~~~~
I don't comment on videos but I appreciate when people react to TVXQ. As other recommended, please watch their live performances! You will be blown away with their acapella! They are no joke!
Woohoo!!! Am so happy to see this!! TVXQ (all 5 of them) was the 1st kpop group I got into. The one you mentioned hv a nice voice in Hug is XIA Junsu. He is now an acclaimed idol and musical actor. Hope to see more TVXQ (and maybe the other ex-members)
Changmin was 15 in the Hug video! Everyone was else 17 at the time. They were the babies before SHINee and NCT Dream were a thing. And honestly, their heavy hard-hitting songs like Keep Your Head Down, Rising Sun, O-Jung.Ban.Hap, and Tri-Angle have prepared me well for the "noise" of NCT 127. Nothing's too weird for me anymore, not even Sticker. lol
Nowadays it is not too weird, but I don't like the fact that they use a lot of sound made by computers. Maybe TVXQ's song use them as well (I'm not a professional musician at all, just a listener) but their songs use pretty much just classic instrument sound so even if they are noisy, I have much less time to enjoy the song.
React to some of their lives performances, such as Bolero (Tokyo Dome 2009), Love in the Ice, Rising Sun, Humanoids and Keep your head down (both from their last Nissam Stadium concert, 2018). 2022 and no one did or does like them, they are the real kings of live stages in kpop. SM picked up their 5 best trainees at the time and formed the group. All the members were/are aces, trained to become soloists at first. People have no idea what they are missing by not giving a chance to TVXQ. It's a blessing to stan them.
I find it very attractive when new-gen idols cover TVXQ's songs HAHAH idk why. I remember finding SM rookies (now NCT) too young for me (though I am the same age as most of them lol) and then they covered Mirotic and I just fell in love LMAO
You can definitely see why Changmin/Max is known as, arguably, the best vocalist in SM, he is also the maknae and why he’s such a baby in their debut, and Yunho/U-Know was/is the leader of the group, and is known as the best dancer in SM, it was him that Jongin and Taemin idolized, and TVXQ is the literal reason Minseok wanted to join SM, and the fact that he’s their little brother now is a dream come true for him… TVXQ debuted in 2003, and SuJu came next in 2005, and JYJ, the 3 members that didn’t renew their contract, re-debuted in 2010 with another company, the 2 that stayed decided to continue as a duo rather than trying to replace the others, as that’s what’s usually done in kpop when the group was small to begin with
I'm slightly late to the party, but as a Cassie of almost 20 years, I can give you a quick TVXQ lesson. -Yes, TVXQ debuted two years before SJ, but they all trained and lived together before debut so they are very close friends. I mean there are crazy stories that both fandoms know of TVSJ. TVXQ always talked about predebut SJ members every chance they got on national television. -TVXQ are the third big bg from SM after H.O.T and Shinhwa, there is even a ballad duo that debuted before them and were quite successful called fly to the sky. -Because of the success of FTTS, SM decided to form an acapella group and took the best vocalists to make a quintet. They actually took members from different groups they were thinking of forming to make this "super group" and had them showcase their vocals at a Brittney Spears/ BoA showcase. Fun fact: TVXQ had an acapella sister group named CSJH The Grace, but unfortunately did not get the same recognition as them. -Keep your head down is like their second debut as this was the first song they put out since the split. I remember this time well, because no one saw that lawsuit coming or the parting from the three members. No one knew if they would continue as two or disband because, believe it or not, Changmin and Yunho, were considered the weaker vocals of the group when they were 5 and SM disappeared the 2 for two years. When they came back with this song, everyone knew they were going to be okay. Also, many cassies speculated that this was a diss track to the other 3 because of the lyrics, but we'll never know since to this day, SM refuses to let them talk about the past. -KYHD has not had a drumline performance but it has a rock live version and it's so good. Changmin kills it every single time.
TVXQ came before Super Junior, they debuted in 2003, SuJu debuted in 2005. TVXQ opened 2nd gen and they are really big. H.O.T is SM's first boy group and first big boy group.
TVXQ OT5 will always be the Gods of kpop the legends the gateway to hallyu wave to the japanese, international markets. Like we have michael jackson in western pop we have TVXQ for kpop as OG LEGENDS that is always in our heart and memories
This group introduced me to KPOP. I feel lucky i was able to know them at their peak (as 5) and see all the good stuff they brought to KPOP at that time. I remember being impressed by their acapella (which remains being the most iconic ones ever) and by their SMP songs (Tri-Angle, Rising Sun, O and etc) because i thought it was amazing for a group to nail ballads and super energetic and hard to sing sons at once. Despite having the biggest fanclub in the world they adventured into the Japanese market so humbly, performing for an audience of 2k people at first and now they can filll multiple days at Tokyo Dome in a few minutes only. Out of all the groups that tried to have a career in Japan, TVXQ is the most meaningful one and honestly has the best discography out there hands down. Their split came out of the blue while they were at peak in both Korea and Japan while they just had managed to get their song in One Piece anime opening. TVXQ as 5 has amazing and iconic ballads that owns a whole playlist for me, i can never get tired of them. Forever my most fave group in KPOP, i have so much love for them because i grew up with the members, it means so much to me.
I feel like you'd love their song Before You Go (watch the performance version), bolero (live version), love in the ice (live version), Mirotic and Rising Sun as they are all iconic songs (they have a lot more as well as most of their songs were hits). They've sung hug live as an acapella version as well (I think only the japanese version though) and have quite a few more songs that they've released acapella versions of (why did i fall in love with you and my little princess being my favourite of their acapella releases).
Okay long comment incoming! Some SM history Big SM boy groups H.O.T (highfive of teenagers) - 1996 - 2001 Shinhwa - 1998 left sm in 2003 and are still together under their own label TVXQ/DBSK - 2003- 3 members left in 2010 Super Junior - 2005 many line up changes, 1st group to do subunits and have a non-Korean member Shinee - 2008 EXO - 2012 NCT - 2016 There were less popular groups as well, like Fly to the Sky and TRAX (I love TRAX btw) but these are the most well known… at least in the West ;)
Nowadays Xia is considered " MASTER" in korea. I've been to his concert, and wow, his vocal is superb. TVXQ is not a king, but they are a God in kpop. You must hear and watch them sing live sir!
@@reyanime as for me JJ is my bias, but i gotta admit junsu's voice is more more " Crunchy" And stable from the start. Well junsu was prepared to be a solo right. But JJ was pointed to be a main vocal to be a "bridge" For them 5. Love them so much
Max Changmin, Kyungsoo, and Winter are considered the kids of Yoo young jin because of their voices (correct me tho if i missed someone 🙂) SM's legendary record producer.
The fact that is video was just a big ball of nostalgia for me was wild!! I was jamming the whole time. Glad you checked these vocal kings out! tvxq is another iconic group
Jaejoong is the original face of Taeyong of NCT.Lee Soo Man can't forget his face so he created another.TVXQ debuted 1 year ahead of Super Junior but they trained together and consider them as brothers.Super Junior was supposed to debut along side with them but SM let TVXQ debut first if they hit big then they will release megagroup. TVXQ debuted 2004 and Super Junior was on 2005.They supposed to be Super Junior 05 with 12 members but several months after, they added Kyuhyun then removed the "05" to just Super Junior.Which was the concept was a rotational and experimental group but after they add Kyu,everything changes.TVXQ's fandom name is Cassiopeia and Super Junior is ELF which stands for EverLasting Friends.
This is just my opinion but I think the best vocalists in TVXQ are those three that got out from SM Entertainment. They are Jaejoong, Junsu and Yoochun. Really love their era since TVXQ is the only group that can sing acapella with really good vocal and harmonisation ❤️❤️
@@kylieyu5138 Yeah, Max is stronger, since Yoochun suffers from asthma. But when the group split, the struggle for Yunho and Changmin is that they have to find a neutral point for their harmony, coz Yunho has the lowest tone while Changmin has the highest tone among five. JYJ has no problem harmonizing, but Yunho and Changmin really has to work out their voices in order to find the balance they need.
OMG YES! Finally! I was waiting your reaction of old TVXQ's songs! Yes TVXQ's debut was before than Súper Junior, they debuted on december of 2003! They started as A capella group and even has a MV called "Whatever They Say" that I recommed you~ Thanks for the reaction! Hope you could react for more TVXQ songs and even live performances, they are amazing!
Till this “Bolero” (Japanese song) but DBSK5 is one I listen to often, especially live. I came across TVXQ yunho and Chang min live version recently and my mind was blown. They truly were/are a vocally strong group.
TVXQ are the gods of kpop. The red ocean, the joy they brought to so many and the crushing sadness of losing them as an OG group. Their talent got our attention and their chemistry with each other made them legends.
Yessss TVXQ! SHINee was most known as TVXQ's little brothers when they debuted because everyone saw potential in SHINee. When I first got into kpop, Catch Me was my first TVXQ's song and showed the MV to literally everyone I knew lmao
I'm glad you're checking out TVXQ. You should also check out their MVs for "Truth," "Chance of Love," and "Love Line." Also their solo MVs: Max Changmin's "Chocolate," and U-Know Yunho's "Thank U" and "Drop."
18 years together 🥰 and it shows! The most perfect duo in Kpop and I freaking love that they are still giving us great music. I think all Kpop idols aspire to be this relevant and have this kind of career. They seriously look too great to have been doing this for this long. TVXQ👏🏻
Here are some recommendations~ 1. Love in the ice(Jpn ver.)/(Kor. Ver) 2. The Chance of love 3. Spellbound 4. Fever (Max solo) 5. Thank you (Yunho solo) 6. Begin Anyway although TVXQ isn’t my bias, their vocals visuals are always the TOP❣️
I forgot to say that you need to listen to the song Before You Go from them, it’s a b side on the Keep Your Head Down album, which also happens to be the first TVXQ release after JYJ left SM, and it’s gorgeous; the vocal gymnastics in that song are ridiculous, in the best way possible, and they made an MV for it too, well, actually 2 MVs, a dance version and vocal version, which is misleading since they do both in both versions, but the difference being in the dance version there’s a dance break, and in the other one it’s just ridiculous vocal runs instead, both are amazing
TVXQ debut in 2003 and Super Junior debut in 2005, so TVXQ came before Super Junior and after H.O.T and Shinhwa (this two are also very famous back then)...TVXQ and Super Junior trained and lived together before their debut, so they're very close to each other...TVXQ don't have super power like EXO, but their group name mean is "Rising Gods of the East" so they're Gods...TVXQ is very famous, esp in Japan...TVXQ debut with 5 members, but in 2009/2010, 3 of members terminate their contract with SM, so now TVXQ only have 2 members, U-Know Yunho (leader) and Max Changmin (maknae)...yes, you have to watch their live performances coz they're awesome!!..
Best Live to Keep your Head down was o Nissan stadium. It was majestic. You should watch This performance on Nissan". "Tvxq live tour 2013 time in nissan stadium 1"
Would love to see you react to the members who left TVXQ. Xia Junsu for musicals now and he's absolutely incredible. Jaejoong does more rock type music but it's amazing his voice is awesome. Also you should check TVXQ 's old (5 members) live performances of Bolero, Tonight and Purple line.
I think its interesting that you think keep your head down is more iconic than hug, since hug us definitely considered the more iconic song in Korea. It still popped up in kdramas more than ten years after its release. It's still a bit weird to me that they've been a duo for a far longer time than they were a group of 5. If you decide to check out more of their stuff I would recommend Spellbound and The Chance of Love (as a duo), and Wrong number, Survivor, Miss you, Bolero (as 5). I think their music as 5 overall is very dated but there's a reason their ballads are still considered some of the best in kpop. If you want to hear more of their voices I recommend you check out some acapella compilations here on youtube! My bias will always be Xia Junsu (the guy whose voice you liked in hug), and since leaving the group he has become a musical actor and released some solo songs. If you want to check out some of his stuff I recommend Flower and Tarantallegra, both are very theatrical and weird.
@@SirAustin This is their LIVE Concert in Nissan Stadium Japan, the 3rd day and they had to perform in 3,5 hours raining. th-cam.com/video/HJiVu-wbErA/w-d-xo.html
Oh my gosh, I haven't watch this mvs in such a long time... I miss when tvxq were 5 member. Hero was my bias then, and he is one that left. Max and U-know are great still. Mirotic is still 🔥 and really a classic. If you noticed every sm group has lost members a long their journey. Is like there's a curse on them somehow.
Finally you reacted to tvxq...the one who you like his voice is Xiah Junsu. He is my bias though. Please react to their live performance. The best acapella group ever in the kpop history. I miss tvxq OT5. 🥲💔
omg another TVXQ 😭 sir you can watch Keep Your Head Down live at NISSAN STADION it was super legendary stage as to they are the first korean group to do the concert there the biggest venue in japan. i really hope more people will check their live stages be it with 2 or 5 members their live stages is just so mind blowing with their vocals. thank you so much for your time on checking them sir Austin ❤
Aaa thank you! Can you react to Yunho solo as well? You can start from Drop, Follow, Thank U, Eeny Meeny and some of his video track : Need You Right Now, Loco (House Party), La Rosa, and last but not least Time Machine. Thank you!
I've been stanning Tvxq for 12 years and they've never been anything less than extraordinary. They have an amazing discography. My personal favourite album is TENSE. Masterpiece!
TVXQ are the kings of kpop!!!!!!!! I love them so much!!!! Also their lives are AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! The best blend of voices! When keep your head down came, before that I was like, SM, give me anything for them, I just want them back, even if then there was only 2, and I was YES, THIS IS AMAZING!!!! Also JYJ has some good music, Junsu and Jaejoong solos are also amazing!
I definitely recommend you watch some more recent releases like Something. The Chance Of Love, Truth, Spellbound and the solos by both Yunho and Changmin are really good!
OMG PLEASE PLEASE you totally have to watch their performance in SMTOWN live in Paris. They enter from above in harnesses, outsing themselves, and it was SO SO SOOO ICONIC
You must hear their singing in live concert, sir, I love this group because of their singing not just they are popular, please react to love in the ice live version, their japanes song bollero live version, their old balad song is good to hear. Fyi this group always known as an accapela group since debut
The (former) member whose voice you like in Hug is Junsu. These days he goes by the name Xia - he's an amazing vocalist and sought-after musical actor. Still my fav TVXQ member even though I love Changmin and Yunho
Sir austin, if u seeking for poweful vocal performance, harmonize, dance syncronize, charisma solo performance from each member…all in 1, i suggest you invest your knowledge on TVXQ, this group not only praised by kpop idols senior and junior, but most artist in entertainment praise their quality as a vocal group. They are beyond kpop and legend among the 1st and 2nd generation..even 1st generation salutes them..which means how they got high expectation and respects from them…TVXQ from time to time always experimental with their musical styles but still keep the high standards quality of vocal performance and dance choreo…im sure you not gonna regret it, sir austin
There are too many TVXQ/DBSK/Tohoshinki/JYJ vocal and performance moments. In my heart they are still one, and forever the acapella-idol kpop group that was able to combine and give justice to my love of pop and ballads. While TVXQ as a duo is still great vocally, I enjoy more of their performance side. While JYJ, or Jaejoong and Junsu individually, I enjoy more for their vocals. As a group, what I love is that they really give off so much emotion into their performances, especially in their Japanese songs which are my favorite. JYJ's W, Boy's Letter and In Heaven are 💯 vocals. Tohoshinki's Love in the Ice, Bolero, Forever Love, Proud, Wasurenaide are just goosebumps. TVXQ2's Spellbound and Before U Go also 💯. Those are just my personal favorites, aside from their iconic ones that are popularly recommended.
Yes TVXQ Iove them :) Since ev everyone explained for the SM history I'm gonna make some recommandations: TVXQ as 5: Rising sun, Purple line, mirotic and love in the ice (live it's a really well known ballad) TVXQ as 2: The chance if love and love line JYJ ( group of the 3 other members) : Backseat ( really sexy) And for the solos I recommand all of Uknow solos, Max chocolate, Xia Junsu ( you liked is voice) flower and rock the world and for Jaejoong just an other girl
The guy at 2:19 that you said is cute is Xiah / Junsu he was my bias when he was still in TVXQ. Thanks for the react. ❤ P.s. when they performed Catch Me in the SM Town free concert i got goosebumps. Yes it is iconic still after 10 years.
You really should listen to their more recent release like The Chance Of Love, SpellBound, Love Line and so on. They're getting better as time goes by !
Yes, KYHD was their comeback as a duo after. Well, TVXQ is the second generation of Kpop and are considered the Kings/Gods of Kpop, a lot of new singers have TVXQ as their role model. And after, 18 years they are still active. Thank you for reacting them!!! I'm a proud Cassiopeia.
Yes, TVXQ *(5 members at first till the ex-members(formed their own trio JYJ) left because of some conflicts with SM, which then TVXQ became duo)* came before Super Junior. I would say they are big(they even got a guinness record for having the biggest fandom) but H.O.T is definitely the first one that came big and there is Shinhwa and S.E.S too which are also became big :>
React to Spellbound/Suri Suri. It is jazzy like Something but 10x better. I mean, I can get sick of Something quite easily, but never of Suri Suri. Adding the awesome choreography, the MV but mostly the performances are DELICIOUS, a treat to the eyes and ears. Also, if you manage to get it, react to Changmin's Fever, from SMTown Concert 2022. Fans and non fans are still on fire thirsting the performance, he ate that show up and knocked everybody out. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love love love Something! Everything about it was perfect!I’m anxiously waiting for you to react to Spellbound and Before You Go. Before You Go’s MV is quite long, like a thriller movie and the performance video is really sexy.
2:22 That man was my first ever bias of kpop. K-netizens label him as one of the best singers in Korea. Currently, he is more active as a musical actor. Austin. trust me. Their live performances are way much better than mv. I'm currently more focused as a nctzen now but I'm still following them if they release any music and all their ballad song especially Japanese songs are a Chef kiss.
Here is some background to help you understand the dynamics of TVXQ better. TVXQ (English and Chinese)/DBSK (Korean)/ Tohoshinki (Japanese), which each are the abbreviations/acronyms of the words in each language that translates to mean "Rising Gods of the East," debuted in 2003 as a 5 member group. But, in 2010 three of their members left SM Entertainment and the group and formed a new group called JYJ -- the initials of the members: Junsu, Yoochun and Jaejoong. (Up until recently, JYJ was still a group and they still produce music, but because they left SM Entertainment -- one of the most powerful and influential companies in the industry -- on less than ideal terms, it has made it more difficult for them to promote themselves and their music. So the members of JYJ are more known as actors and producers than they are as singers now.) However, Max/Changmin and U-Know/Yunho continued as TVXQ as a duo. The day after Christmas was TVXQ/DBSK/Tohoshinki's 18th anniversary, and even now as a duo they are so talented that they have the vocal range to cover all the parts of a song between the two of them, including rap. TVXQ's fandom is Cassiopeia and their fan color is red, so when you attend a TVXQ concert you will see an ocean of red. Welcome to the Cassiopeia fandom. If you like TVXQ then you are a Cassi. "Keep Your Head Down" is showing why their name is Rising Gods of the East. I think this is one of their songs that fits their name well. And this song was designed to show just how powerful they were. It was meant to prove to everyone that even as a duo they would continue to be the Gods that their name represented. Ever since debut SM wanted TVXQ to have God-like status and Changmin and U-Know personify that with songs like this one. "Keep Your Head Down" was their first comeback after splitting from JYJ and it was the performance that solidified them as two of the top artists in the industry. This song showed everyone just how capable they were as artists -- that they could continue as just the two of them and never miss a beat. They are one of the most powerful and well respected duos, and with more than 18 years in the industry, there is no doubt they have legendary status -- and they are still blowing people away with their talent. The choreographer for "Catch Me" is Tony Testa, who has worked with a lot of SM's artists. Changmin and U-Know have said that Tony told them he got the idea for this choreography because the inflight movie that was shown on the flight from the U.S. to Korea was one of the Avengers movies and he was inspired by the Hulk. So that is why they were supposed to be animatronic robots with giant arms. In the MV when their arms light up that is done in post production, but you should check out some of their live performances of the song, because in some of their live performances -- such as in SM's end of the year SMCU Express SMTown concert on New Year's eve this year -- they have LED arm bands, so they really do light up. With all the water in this MV, the choreography was super difficult. If you were to watch the behind the scenes of them filming the MV, you would see how everyone kept slipping and falling down and they kept having to redo those scenes. th-cam.com/video/8INOtewTfaY/w-d-xo.html (Sorry couldn't find one with subs.) You should also check out the dance practice, th-cam.com/video/JzSgMwrSfOk/w-d-xo.html. "Something" was recorded as part of TVXQ's 10th anniversary celebration, so to commemorate their 10th anniversary, if you notice, there is a Roman numeral X on the floor in the middle of the ballroom. Fun fact: as you may know, it wasn't real common to see females in Kpop boy group MVs until more recently, and that's one reason why Changmin used to say that filming for the "Something" MV was his favorite. Because after 10 years, this was the first time that they had ever used females in one of their MVs. Changmin was 25 years old at the time and U-Know was 27. And as you saw in the MV, you can see why he had such a good time. LOL ;) You should really see a live comeback stage for "Something." The choreo they perform live with this song has them using that double ended mic that is attached in the middle by a rope and they each hold an end of the rope, and they have to dance without getting tangled in the rope. Its super impressive and shows exactly why they are considered one of the best performing duos in the industry. Yes, TVXQ truly are all-time legends in the music industry. As an SM Entertainment group, it is no surprise that TVXQ are outstanding vocalists. Being some of the best dancers and vocalists in the industry is what we have come to expect from all of SM's artists and groups. That's just a fact about the type of people SM selects to be a part of its company. Changmin (the youngest member) was 15 and U-Know was 17 years old when they debuted with "Hug", so even though they are one of the senior Kpop groups, Changmin is only 33 and U-know is 35. TVXQ is SM's most senior group, but U-Know and Changmin are still younger than, or the same age as, many of the members of the legendary groups who came after them within their generation. They are best friends with Super Junior and they pretty much all grew up together. Changmin -- the one with the cat in "Hug" -- is known for his powerful high notes (even more powerful than Onew or Jonghyun from SHINee or Chen and Baekhyun from EXO), he literally has one of the widest note ranges of almost any Kpop artist. In a high note battle he always wins. He is best friends with Kyuhyun from Super Junior and Minho from SHINee. Xiumin from EXO is such a big fanboy of his that he says TVXQ is the reason why he wanted to audition for SM. (Fun fact: Changmin got married in 2020.) U-Know is known for his dancing and his passion for dancing and singing. It might be hard to believe, but he is also the rapper of the group. (U-Know truly loves what he does and doesn't hide it. He will tell you he is proud of his accomplishments and he is proud of his work. His passion is kind of a running joke within the industry. Its one of the things he is most known for.) The funny thing is personality-wise, Changmin and U-Know are complete opposites in almost every way. Changmin is quiet, calm and level headed and prefers to spend time alone; and U-Know is loud, high energy, intense and prefers to spend time with a group of people. Tohoshinki (TVXQ) are one of the most famous singers in Japan as well, even among Japanese artists. And like SHINee, they are so popular in Japan that they are considered part of the mainstream music scene. TVXQ has one of the biggest worldwide fan bases and they sell out some of the largest concert venues in the world. They are SM Entertainment's top selling group, easily selling out concert tours around the world.
Tvxq5 were/are vocal kings. No one does acapella better than them😁
I totally agree with this. I'm an OG. as i know, even to this day, TVXQ (5) r the only group (in my opinion) that have the best songs, best visual, best vocal, best dance, best stage perfomance.
Facts!
Big Bang? BTS?
P.S: SM timeline
H.O.T, S.E.S, Shinhwa, BlockBeat, BOA, TVXQ, Super Junior, SNSD, SHinee, F(x), EXO, RV, NCT, Aespa
+ Fly to the sky, The Grace, and TraxX
11:21 trust me their concerts are LEGENDARY!!!
Keep Your Head Down is the 2 member DBSK first song after the other 3 left. Iconic song. It is basically showing these 2 can continue to carry the name of DBSK..the God from East. It is a war song. I still remember their stage performance of this song in SM Town 2020. They were the closing act there
Their fandom's name is Cassiopea and on their heyday was the biggest fans club in the world.
There's also Fly To The Sky and TraxX by the way :>
Don’t forget Black Beat, Fly to the Sky and the Trax
@@ze7525 they aren't kpop. Trax is a rock band.
Most wiil say that Mirotic is the most iconic, but to me it is Rising Sun! It really shows how bold SME can be with their sound.
Same! Rising Sun was just iconic. It was bold and everything SM wanted to show off in that group. Mirotic was just their most mainstream popular song.
Mirotic is fun to watch live for the fan chant. It's so fun and nostalgic.
SM debut years, with small interesting facts to some of the groups. I didn’t put all SM groups, but these are some of the bigger ones, I think.
1996 - H.O.T (by many considered the first real Kpop group, made with the trainee system)
1997 - S.E.S (SM’s first girl group)
1998: Shinhwa (The longest running group without lineup changes, still has their original lineup, although they are not super active anymore (most recent comeback was in 2018, I think)
2000 - BoA (huge in both Korea and Japan, often credited as one of the first Koreans to really make it big in Japan)
2003 - TVXQ (also known as DBSK (in Korea) and Tohoshinki (in Japan). TVXQ is based on the Chinese spelling of their name. The name means “Rising gods of the east”. Also huge in Japan)
2005 - Super Junior (the first Kpop group to introduce the concept of subunits. I think they have, like, 5 or 6 subunits, if I’m counting correctly)
2007 - SNSD (Nation’s girl group, basically needs no introduction)
2008 - SHINee (my personal ultimate bias group, I could rant about them for hours, but I will spare you that)
2009 - F(x) (SM’s experimental girl group, SHINee’s sister group, and criminally underutilized by SM)
2012 - EXO (you know EXO, I doubt I need to explain them to you)
2014 - Red velvet (masters of duality)
2016 - NCT (they’re NCT, you know these guys)
2020 - Aespa (again, really don’t need at introduction at this point)
Up!!
Also: S.E.S. 1st SM's girlgroup
@@ireneserrano4570 Right, I totally forgot about S.E.S. Added
@@theabruun1028 😊👌
1999 - fly to the sky.
2002- Isak n jiyeon. But they disbanded pretty quickly
Please react to these:
Tonight
Wrong Number
Before U Go
Spellbound
どうして君を好きになってしまったんだろう?
Stand by U
明日は来るから
Add "Begin", one of the most iconic Japanese releases they have.
'keep your head down' got me into K-Pop... Along with Max and his perfection
TVXQ/DBSK is such a group of vocals. Tonight, Bolero and Love in the Ice’s live stage are the evidences.
"Spellbound" should be next, very similar vibes to "Something"
Happy 2022 Sir Austin 🌺💜
When SMTown concert start before, they start with TVXQ - Rising Sun, and I got goosebumps, I don't even like the song that much but its soo iconic that you can't help but amaze with it 😳
You have to react to BEFORE U GO by TVXQ too, its their best sexy, slow jam e r&b song. Perfect vocals
Most recomended
1. Bolero tokyo dome
2. Love in the ice tokyo dome
3. Mirotic live
Overall, all of their performance are live
One of the very latest TVXQ songs is The Chance of Love. The MV is great but the MCountdown performance in the red suits is my favorite by far.
They were so insanely popular back in the day.
TVXQ our acapella group ❤ Junsu and Jaejoong are Vocal legends! hope you will react to the Live performances of TVXQ as 5 members later~
TVXQ is my first love in kpop industries
You can definitely see why Changmin/Max is known as, arguably, the best vocalist in SM, he is also the maknae and why he’s such a baby in their debut, and Yunho/U-Know was/is the leader of the group, and is known as the best dancer in SM, it was him that Jongin and Taemin idolized, and TVXQ is the literal reason Minseok wanted to join SM, and the fact that he’s their little brother now is a dream come true for him…
TVXQ debuted in 2003, and SuJu came next in 2005, and JYJ, the 3 members that didn’t renew their contract, re-debuted in 2010 with another company, the 2 that stayed decided to continue as a duo rather than trying to replace the others, as that’s what’s usually done in kpop when the group was small to begin with
I'm slightly late to the party, but as a Cassie of almost 20 years, I can give you a quick TVXQ lesson.
I wish Before U Go was also on your list today.
I used to using Catch Me for my alarm 🤣
TVXQ OT5 will always be the Gods of kpop the legends the gateway to hallyu wave to the japanese, international markets. Like we have michael jackson in western pop we have TVXQ for kpop as OG LEGENDS that is always in our heart and memories
Nobody:
Iintro: "Keep your head down, U-Know time."
Me in the background: Changmin-ah saengil chukahamnida
I'll take myself out!
Yes! Seeing all five is always pleasing to the eyes and ears. Hope you’ll react to ot5 more. The lives are *chefs kiss*
When you said you thought catch me was your favorite, i couldn’t help but think “that’s cause you haven’t seen something yet” 😂
Some SM history
Big SM boy groups
H.O.T (highfive of teenagers) - 1996 - 2001
Shinhwa - 1998 left sm in 2003 and are still together under their own label
TVXQ/DBSK - 2003- 3 members left in 2010
Super Junior - 2005 many line up changes, 1st group to do subunits and have a non-Korean member
Shinee - 2008
EXO - 2012
NCT - 2016
There were less popular groups as well, like Fly to the Sky and TRAX (I love TRAX btw) but these are the most well known… at least in the West ;)
Nowadays Xia is considered " MASTER" in korea. I've been to his concert, and wow, his vocal is superb. TVXQ is not a king, but they are a God in kpop. You must hear and watch them sing live sir!
Absolutely. Xia is my ult bias. TVXQ still has the best lives for me in kpop.
@@reyanime as for me JJ is my bias, but i gotta admit junsu's voice is more more " Crunchy" And stable from the start. Well junsu was prepared to be a solo right. But JJ was pointed to be a main vocal to be a "bridge" For them 5. Love them so much
@@nesyaangga3675 Yes, they are stil the best vocally for me. Whether as 2 , 3, or ot5 they dominate. I mean JYJ's In Heaven live was heaven sent.
the first ever group i stan❤️❤️ tvxq makes me into kpop until now🥰.. been into kpop from 2006🤣
Max Changmin, Kyungsoo, and Winter are considered the kids of Yoo young jin because of their voices (correct me tho if i missed someone 🙂) SM's legendary record producer.
isn't he their vocal coach
@@ELmayberry he's SM producer, he produced most of sm's most iconic songs, esp 1st and 2nd gen.
Doyoung's also one of Yoo Youngjin's kids!
@@nyek1246 I understand but don't most ppl call Max Changmin, Kyungsoo, and Winter his kids bc he trained them vocally or am I wrong
@@ELmayberry yes, Yoo Young jin is their vocal coach
Technique wise Junsu and Jaejoong are indeed their 2 strongest vocalist, changmin comes next. But still, the 5 of them are all pretty good vocalist
Personally I think Max is a stronger vocalist than Yoochun
@@kylieyu5138 Yeah, Max is stronger, since Yoochun suffers from asthma. But when the group split, the struggle for Yunho and Changmin is that they have to find a neutral point for their harmony, coz Yunho has the lowest tone while Changmin has the highest tone among five. JYJ has no problem harmonizing, but Yunho and Changmin really has to work out their voices in order to find the balance they need.
Love in the ice please... It's showing their amazing vocals and emotions :'(
OMG YES!
I loooove watching you react to older bgs especially SM bgs. Just kiliiig 😅
TVXQ👏🏻
Tvxq is great! I remember how happy I was when mirotic came out *yeah I am old 😆
catch me and something is one of my favorites songs of all ITS JUST SO GOOD!!!
Cant wait for Max new solo album. His new song Fever is so good. Once again proving that he is one of the best vocalist in Kpop.
Here are some recommendations~
1. Love in the ice(Jpn ver.)/(Kor. Ver)
2. The Chance of love
3. Spellbound
4. Fever (Max solo)
5. Thank you (Yunho solo)
6. Begin
Anyway although TVXQ isn’t my bias, their vocals visuals are always the TOP❣️
Truth, The chance of love, Top of the world, Your man, Spellbound, Off road
I almost forgot how great / incredible / amazing Catch Me is. Everytime I listen to it it gives me goosebumps
This is my fav group in kpop, I love all of the member voices ❤❤ thanks for reacting to them
Max is the boy with a cat in Hug. 🥰
Thanks for the info! I just meant Keep Your Head Down has that weird/iconic 2nd gen SM experimental sound. 🙂

Yes TVXQ Iove them :) Since ev everyone explained for the SM history I'm gonna make some recommandations:
TVXQ as 5: Rising sun, Purple line, mirotic and love in the ice (live it's a really well known ballad)
TVXQ as 2: The chance if love and love line
JYJ ( group of the 3 other members) : Backseat ( really sexy)
And for the solos I recommand all of Uknow solos, Max chocolate, Xia Junsu ( you liked is voice) flower and rock the world and for Jaejoong just an other girl
The guy at 2:19 that you said is cute is Xiah / Junsu he was my bias when he was still in TVXQ. Thanks for the react. ❤
P.s. when they performed Catch Me in the SM Town free concert i got goosebumps.
I'm a proud Cassiopeia.
their concert live was LENGENDARY... handsdown Top3 Kpop song I've ever heard
maybe you gonna like Spellbound came out right after something and that's my second favorite song from tvxq! the favorite one is truth(2018)
So the members of JYJ are more known as actors and producers than they are as singers now.)
However, Max/Changmin and U-Know/Yunho continued as TVXQ as a duo.
(Fun fact: Changmin got married in 2020.)
U-Know is known for his dancing and his passion for dancing and singing. It might be hard to believe, but he is also the rapper of the group. (U-Know truly loves what he does and doesn't hide it. He will tell you he is proud of his accomplishments and he is proud of his work. His passion is kind of a running joke within the industry. Its one of the things he is most known for.)
The funny thing is personality-wise, Changmin and U-Know are complete opposites in almost every way.
