Honestly, I like BTS a lot and they are the only group I stand but like you said some people just make the whole experience suck, I learned to put my mental health first than anything else and that's why I only keep up with them when it's related to music :)
I am an ARMY and I completely agree with you; I love BTS so much but there are a lot of toxic ARMY that can make the experience of standing BTS hard to enjoy. What I've learned is so block those people out, if they want to be rude and vicious to other groups solely because they're not BTS, well I can't stop them, what I can do is to not worry about them and love BTS the way I want, I can even support other Kpop groups as well!!

Good for you to hold off on crushes and love drama during college days. It can be so drastically and dramatically distracting. There is plenty of time. My goodness, when I think of my life, I realized that I have never been alone. I’ve always had a boyfriend. Now, I’m very happily married with a son, but there are many times I wish I had just tried life alone, especially when I was younger and in college. Just being able to go by myself to any city for a weekend, to hop a flight anywhere. Or to plan a long semester or trip abroad. Take your time. There is much of life to live. Later on, you might like The Historian. It’s one of my favorites which I’ve read twice. I’m due for a re-read of that soon. It is very fun to revisit movies and books I once loved when I was younger. Keep doing that! And travel a lot alone (especially when we are allowed to again); be safe and enjoy the world and document it all. Be untethered until you find the right one!

There was an infamous incident called 'The Black Ocean' in which when the girl group Girl's Generation were rookies they performed at a concert where a bunch of idols were performing. Gg was seemingly close to super junior and fans weren't happy about this. So when Gg got on stage all of the fans turned off their lightsticks (besides sones) and it was a complete ocean of darkness. It's so scary how unchecked fans can get and how obligated they can feel to people they don't even know.

i discovered kpop through bts a few months ago when i was in a pretty bad place mentally, and they helped tremendously with feeling better in general. i'm a pretty addictive person, when i like something, i obsess over it so naturally that happened with bts, but honestly after a while i noticed that the fandom was a lil crazy lmao and i just don't have the time or energy to put into 'stan twitter' and army drama so i just listen to bts when i want and if i want to watch content from them i will, but i try not to allow myself to deep dive into toxic places like that online. it can really screw with you.

Firstly I want to say that I discovered your channel very recently and I love your videos so much. Secondly, I am a multi fan. I got into KPOP through 2NE1 and BIGBANG around 2010. And in 2013 BTS debuted and they became my ultimate group, because their music fits my taste and I love their content the most. During 2013- 2016 BTS was still a very small group and they obviously had very few fans, BTS and ARMY felt like a close family,(they still do but it's different you know what I mean, but ofcourse I still love BTS) but even during those times there were toxic fans. As the fandom grew so did the toxic fans. But then again since I stan so many groups (and this is the reason why my wallet hates me )it is the same in every group. Just like you said it's so difficult at times one wrong thing and the fandom just comes for you. We just want to love the various groups and their content. I mean its Okay to have your ultimate group and its ok for someone to go a little further to support their faves but that doesn't mean they can just judge others who don't like the same group. I just hope the different fandoms understand that its ok if people like different groups, what is important is that we accept and respect every group and fandom. I've been following nct since debut, and I can assure you that I never felt welcome on the fandom simply because I'm an army. the way people tend to be aggressive just because I stan bts is scary. they always see us as enemies. so yeah, i understand you. I like especially your decor and your vibe and hence I subscribed but I am an army and I didn’t know you weren’t one for a while but I was happy that you were into K-Pop. Even though I get where you come from when you told how armies are very mean and they come at people who don’t like bts and what not I have to say I really don’t agree with you on that. I hate stan twitter and I have literally stopped using cause the people are so damn disturbing in there and I know for a fact that a lot of people who do go out of there way and hate on other group fans but I think some people like me who know a bit about why we armies tend to shield our boys are because we have seen how so many people out there have hated them just cause they are popular? It’s a personal opinion to not stan them and that’s so fine but to assume all armies do are just shit on other people for not liking bts is I think a very narrow way to see us! Hi I have been a silent subscriber of your content for a while now and I really like your videos. I like especially your decor and your vibe and hence I subscribed but I am an army and I didn’t know you weren’t one for a while but I was happy that you were into K-Pop. Even though I get where you come from when you told how armies are very mean and they come at people who don’t like bts and what not I have to say I really don’t agree with you on that. I hate stan twitter and I have literally stopped using cause the people are so damn disturbing in there and I know for a fact that a lot of people who do go out of there way and hate on other group fans but I think some people like me who know a bit about why we armies tend to shield our boys are because we have seen how so many people out there have hated them just cause they are popular? It’s a personal opinion to not stan them and that’s so fine but to assume all armies do are just shit on other people for not liking bts is I think a very narrow way to see us! So I don’t mean to be rude but I as an army have seen numerous times how people use the name bts and army to just bring more hate for the boys and the fans and justify it by saying bts and there fans suck, I think that is hurtful. So I know you don’t necessarily may be think everyone are that way but still I think it was worth letting you know just once.
the thing that i was trying to stress was that i do NOT think of every army that way because i can see for myself the people that support bts who are wonderful people that spread the positivity they learn from the group. but like you said people are protective of any group they like, that's only natural, but there are SOME people that take it too far and make their voices very loud and affect the experiences of others. i think that's just the nature of things when a group is so popular. and i don't only think some armies will shit on people for not liking bts because i've literally seen it happen to people on the internet and to people i know. these conversations are defiantly worth having to thank you for saying something
