It’s slightly different for me for some reason. 987.2z Mine does the slow blink after releasing the button. This is what I had to do to get it to work with my Genie garage door - Clear the old code, press and release the program button, aim the remote at the car and wait for the fog lights to blink, get into the car and press the same program button again and it does the fast blinking this time, press the learn button on garage door, get back into the car and press the same program button one more time.
