Your spell reminds me a little of another Scandinavian harvest tradition where they make a corn doll (made of the best of the harvest) and give it a seat of importance during the final harvest then care for it till the new crops planting when they plant it into the ground in hopes that his care will reflect in better crops the next year. This is way simplified, the basics.

I believe humor is a way to incorporate ideas we're not ready to face head on. I've been joking that I should've been a psychopomp in stead of a cook.
During my meditation and ceremony going into the dark season it's come up as a service to spirit I'm supposed to be involved in, a totally unprovoked realization. I also have been sensing and seeing spirit more since the portal opened in my living room. Not in my house much, more when I'm out in the world. I'm confident in this and have had multiple signs and verification from guides.
I think it's interesting that this reading for the group was so close to the subject reflected in my local awareness. I mean I know it's common themes were all facing. These Sundays always blow my mind
