Your videos have given me a far greater respect for artillery. I now build my 'assault' divisions around a 'grand battery' of two 12-14 gun batteries of 24lbders to blast apart anything in sight before the troops close.
Finding out you played some games was literally the perfect moment after I watched a few of your videos about president rankings and reacting to others president rankings. I randomly decided to buy this game a couple weeks ago for something new to play. Then I looked up “hard” difficulty campaign play throughs ultimate general civil war . Saw you and felt the “right on” moment haha hope you’re well! I know this video is 3 years old haha but I’m loving your gameplay videos and the history lessons on the battles as well.
I did similar. Put skirmishers in the left woods to annoy them. Put your main units in the woods to the right. I took skimishers up the right to open the view. Send all your reinforcements up the right side. I swung them all the way around. Take cannons up on top of the hill to the right.
@@TheHistoryGuy Can confirm this is correct, they'll just respawn in the next battle. You get rid of the morale regen bonus and any aura bonuses from a LTG. I'm not sure if the global bonuses from the lvl 1 and 2 perks get removed or if that gets set at the start of the battle. though.
@@pandakraut8594 If my experience at Chickamauga indicates, I think that losing the General also loses your level 1 and 2 bonuses for that particular corps. I lost my character on day 1 to a unit routing right into him.....day 2 I had MASSIVE supply problems in that corps that I had never seen before, that general was a logistics build.

Same here! His content might be 3 years old but it's helping me a lot right now ^^

Just about halfway through thinking the guns might be in the rout path...
Thankfully not!
Does killing Generals have any long term effects or just eliminates their support in the current battle?
I could be wrong on this but I'm fairly certain it only helps for this particular battle

@@taccovert4 That makes sense. Between days units get reloaded and so the general bonuses should get re-applied if they are present.
@@pandakraut8594 Ja servus! You are the legendary mod creator! My man! You rock sir!
