The first scene where naruto meeting sasuke is in fact real and it is present time according to show. whatever you're watching right now is actually past. You will eventually catch up to present time when naruto meets sasuke. Yeah sasuke was able to see and talk with fox because of his sharingan. Sharingan has various incredible abilities which you haven't even seen yet.

It has to be best friend or someone very close to you like a sibling or parents. Killing them would be hardest for you emotionally and that emotional trauma and stress activates next level of sharingan.
Also please pause the show while talking. You might miss lot of things in some important episodes

Uchiha are renound for their genjutsu and ninjutsu capacity
Genjutsu is an infeltration in someones mind-soul-pshyci plane tricking or trapping them
So sasuke used genjutsu to supress the leakage of ninetail fox chackra from naruto seal
