I do of course understand the different opinions and taste of music. With all respect; can someone please explain the greatness of Ukraine? Fill me in. What am I missing? To me it is 3 min of chanting and torture. But.. you have to love Eurovision. And I so envy the crowd. They are THERE.
The music brings a certain confort with the folkloric music. The rave electronic sound contributes to dust this genre off. The singing technique is called "white voice" which is traditional in Eastern Europe. The rythm starts slowly and grows progressively apace until the end. The song is nonetheless punctuated with some pauses. As a result, the progress is linear and cyclic at the same time. Like life in general: there are ups and downs, but in the end we keep improving. When you listen to the song, you may feel that the singer screams, but actually she does not. I must admit that I thought in the beginning that she had a grating voice, but I finally like how it suits perfectly with the instruments. I am entirely aware that because of her voice, the song is whether you love it, whether you hate it. Furthermore, rave music is of course not for everyone. Personally, it is my favourite, but I will not be surprised if they do not win the competition to be honest.

I do of course understand the different opinions and taste of music. With all respect; can someone please explain the greatness of Ukraine? Fill me in. What am I missing? To me it is 3 min of chanting and torture. But.. you have to love Eurovision. And I so envy the crowd. They are THERE.
The music brings a certain confort with the folkloric music. The rave electronic sound contributes to dust this genre off. The singing technique is called "white voice" which is traditional in Eastern Europe. The rythm starts slowly and grows progressively apace until the end. The song is nonetheless punctuated with some pauses. As a result, the progress is linear and cyclic at the same time. Like life in general: there are ups and downs, but in the end we keep improving.
When you listen to the song, you may feel that the singer screams, but actually she does not. I must admit that I thought in the beginning that she had a grating voice, but I finally like how it suits perfectly with the instruments. I am entirely aware that because of her voice, the song is whether you love it, whether you hate it. Furthermore, rave music is of course not for everyone. Personally, it is my favourite, but I will not be surprised if they do not win the competition to be honest.
