Highways covered with snow as winter storm pounds St. Louis

- A WINTER STORM WARNING is in effect for the entire 5 On Your Side viewing area until Thursday at Noon. Additional snowfall accumulation of 4" - 8" is possible through the early afternoon.The St. Louis metro is expected to see snow showers through at least midday, with some areas south of St. Louis seeing snow through Thursday evening.
Thursday starts off with snow and blowing snow and temperatures in the teens. High temperatures will top out in the 20s, but gusty winds will mean wind chills stay in the single digits. Winds will gust anywhere from 25 mph to 35 mph, which will reduce visibility through the day and create hazardous conditions on area roadways.
Snow is expected to come to an end by Thursday afternoon and evening with areas in the St. Louis area picking up an additional 4" - 8". Some areas south of St. Louis, could see snowfall linger into the first part of the overnight hours. Temperatures will plummet overnight with temperatures falling into the single digits and wind chills below zero.
Weekend temperatures do rebound with highs climbing back into the 30s and 40s and dry weather is expected over the next 7 days after today's snow. #TISL #STLwx #StLouis

I was passing thru St Louis in that storm , we found a place to park for the night in Edwardsville, Illinois.

Went through there yesterday. Plows were there but they really did not seem to be doing much. No salt. The northeast they over salt. Down here?
When it's so cold salt and chemicals don't work what would ya people do if ya lived n Michigan lol they don't plow until there's 7plus inches lol
