Samal is the resort capital of Pinas, i think there are over 300 resorts there and the size is as big as Singapore. Its my retirement dream destination ❤

during the summer….Are there any particular days of the week such as the weekend that it might make sense to avoid crowds?
We’re not too sure sorry! We went at the end of February and it wasn’t busy at all the spots we visited!

Our friends told us that there might actually be an entry to that beach w/o going through a resort, so that was our fault on our end for not researching enough ✌🏽

Maybe 550 includes the pakyaw for the pedicab.. That's how expensive their transportation there..
Or maybe you chose the wrong resort coz some entrance in canibad are cheap

Hey Maciej, Davao is one of safest cities in the Philippines. I lived there for a few months and have rarely felt as safe and welcome in any other place as I did in Davao.

I believe you can catch a public bus from the terminal in Davao city. Otherwise you may also bring your own car or just take a taxi to the sea port and go by foot.

I think it was 1800php in total for the tricycle hire
can you say that davao specifically samal is recommended for solo travellers?
I think it’s a bit too pricey to get around tbh, mostly focused on resorts but plenty of stunning beaches to visit.

@@joc2550 you can either rent a scooter in Davao city so you can explore Samal island at your own pace.
Or take a taxi to the sea port then hop on the boat by foot, there will be tricycles on Samal island that will take you to your resort

yeah so many hidden fees in the Philippines. that is why it is more fun traveling abroad. Philippines tourism systems sucks 100000 times. Thailand beaches and Bali more recommendable (cheaper and convenient) than Philippines beaches base from our own experience.
oh no that's unfortuntate to hear! we've actually had more great experiences than bad ones. But definitely cheaper to travel other countries lol 🥲
