Nice video ! 🙂 Thanks for using the audio I posted of the Billerica show, it's one of my favourite because of the fire incident and the way Jerry is so laidback about it
Thank you so much! The audio from that show became one of my favorite pieces of Talking Heads trivia and was so interesting to research and discover. I never knew about it until I was making the video. So thank YOU for posting it :)
Having read Chris Frantz's book Remain In Love, I have to say that it appears you're going too soft on David Byrne here. He not only left his wife at the RRHOF induction ceremony, but he skipped town, left her with no idea where he was or how to get "home', and simply didn't tell her about it. Chris and Tina ended up helping her out. David also did a similar thing in the '80s with his first girlfriend, left her in America while he was touring in Japan and didn't tell her they'd broken up, until she figured it out when he came back to the states with his new girlfriend, who he then married. David also did some more unethical things regarding songwriting credits, leaving everybody but himself off of the album as writers, although they all collaborated on every track and should have all been properly credited. There's more, but it goes way beyond ups and downs, yes it was a very toxic band relationship.
That is very fair. I appreciate the feedback. I definitely did not want to lambast anyone in the band in particular. I just wanted to open the door and give a brief run down of events. I also have read Frantz's book, and while what he says could be true, I did not want to go all in on saying anything so severe since that is only from his perspective. Thanks again for the great comment and for watching the video :)
the 2002 rock and roll hof induction was in new york city lmfao, even if the story is true (which i doubt, chris wasn't privy to david's personal life at that time) adelle knew how to get home lmfao
People on the spectrum often have a difficult time with empathy, and can sometimes be insensitive. David has come to understand this better and reached a more mature place in his life. But all that hoo ha is really just tabloid drama the fans of these artists can do without.
I like a lot of the Talking Heads music. My favorite song of theirs is "Memories Can't Wait" from the album Fear of Music. It paints a story that i can relate to having laid in bed with with memories stopping me from sleep. It also, to me, encapsulates what one of the songs is with the end having a great Byrne vocal
I tried to find something related to the disastrous events of the Boston Arts Show but I couldn’t find anything. All I found was that apparently the B-52’s opened for them prior and that there is a recording of the show, but there’s no I Zimbra encore. I’m not even sure how a guitar amp, being used professionally on a stage by a band that has done many shows prior, could explode dramatically in flames. Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth would sometimes literally crank all the settings on his amp to 10 at the start of a concert and keep it like that till at the very end when the amp will make a pop sound and die, yet his amp never caught fire suddenly. Honestly it’s either a straight up conspiracy theory or a Final Destination-style butterfly effect happened that caused one of the amps to explode and then somehow information gets lost or withheld from the public to protect the venue and the band’s reputation. I’m still very interested though so I’d really like to know how you found the information you did find

In confusion, the rest of the band looks at him. ΄΄we were going to do that anyways.΄΄ David says, trying to correct him. Chris gasps and David rolls his eyes in annoyance. ΄΄then, should we practice?΄΄ Chris says with an bit lower toned voice due to embarassment. the 2 band members, Tina and David, looked at him the same, but confusion build up. Jerrys eyes widen, as he tries to calm down. ΄΄didn΄t we....?΄΄ Jerry says in concern. Chriss eyes start to get droopy and close. ΄΄i forgot about that....΄΄ chris says, an bit shy. Tina gets closer to him, as his blush is shown a soft shade of pink. ΄΄what i found concerning is that you forget alot nowadays.΄΄ Tinas eyes meet his, as she starts to feel gis mouth aches, and Tina immediately noticed. ΄΄how do i explain this feeling?΄΄ chris says, thinking as much as possible. Tina caresses his hand with her thumb, smiling, and waiting. the other 2 boys wait in constant confusion and unimeganible impatience. ΄΄it΄s okay, you can explain it. we΄re here for you anyways.΄΄ slowly patting his head, tina grins a pretty smile, as the other twos only feelings had been mixed with the confusion and impatience, bringing a pain to their minds as theyre forced to watch Chris lose it, and Tina not understanding how insane he is. ΄΄forgetting things like this is one thing. makes me feel.... uncomfortable. even worse is that i feel like my mind is being replaced with other knowledge. it΄s an terrible yet euphoric feeling.΄΄ Tinas eyes widened, and Jerry could feel a single tear slip out of his eye from the pain, his fingers starting to divorce, it felt more painful, like blood ran down on them, when his skin was there. And David started trembling, his hands mimicking a soft rain, as his trembling builds up in an awful rush. they started to feel suffering pain, as they wanted it to stop. They begged a soft manifestation for all this to stop in their heads, but that didnt stop. their veins were given strength, adding an huge part in this suffering that felt eternal. ΄΄chris, how do you feel right now?΄΄ Jerry asks, voice choking painfully, each word a voice crack snapped. Chris looked horrifyingly at him, as Jerry places his hands infront of his face as a shield, as it rained sweat down his hands. ΄΄good question! the euphoria is slowly lowering, and it gets even more terrible, i can΄t focus on anything!΄΄ Chriss words were echoed across David and Jerrys ears, it was as if Chris was doing something, Chris glanced at the 2 boys as they suffered in eternal pain, as he smiled proudly, to something horrible. ΄΄David? Jerry? what happened?΄΄ Tina asked, confused, as Chris admired her being clueless. the 2 boys stared at her, no moving, but just standing still, as Jerry began crying, and falling into his knees. ΄΄GOD! save us... save us all....΄΄ he started praying, feeling a burning supremacy for God in that moment. Chris smiled like a psychopath, but Tina didnt notice, she was concerned for David, standing still. Jerry had fainted, slowly, but surely. Tina notices him immediately.
