My father is in AA. He says that you don't have to be religious to be a part of it. You can pray to anything you want. It's a power greater than yourself. They just use Christianity as a base.
That's what they say, but the big book is based upon religion, so I guess you can try to ignore it and create your own "higher power" but that doesn't really work.

There has always been SOCIAL COMPARISON in human society, and even before. It was at a smaller scale before the internet, within your neighbors and school friends. Now it's just a bigger scale, as is everything thanks to technology, but is still based on the same desires, envy, and social expectations.

I like her question on addiction and will power. I agree it's all about self will, maybe at first I needed to believe a higher power would fix my addiction and that's what drove me to consider being sober. But then I realized that wasn't enough I would just relapse until I got into will power and started believing I needed to take responsibility for becoming an addict and only I could will my way out of it. Now I'm 8 years clean and I tend to think it's part of the weakness to believe it's a disease and not the individual addicts fault. I don't like the NA meeting environment for this reason of irresponsibility but I do think if believing it's not your fault helps you get clean then that's great all the power to you. But bobby is definitely wrong that that's the only way out of addiction

In one of the newer podcast bobby talks about going to a comedy festival forgot which one but tt featured tom segura, dane cook and others and I dont know how much they knew eachother before hand, but bobby praised tom for being a great guy and sounds like they grew a good friendship over the trip so hopefully well see booby on YMH, and or burts cast soon and hoping they go on TB soon as well, also would love to see bill burr make an appearance on TB eventually
