    Come from 1000 cc naked bikes. Bought the 2024 390 to ride the backroads twisties on and be affordable. This bike can rail! 52mpg, all the add ons are cheaper, exhaust etc. the quickshifter is flawless. What is cool is I have been riding for 17 years, speed triples, 675 r Daytona, 990 superduke but riding this 390 has made me a better rider. You can push it more than a 1000cc bike, and then that translates into pushing my 990 but in a controlled manner. Because I was able to push the 390 to the ragged edge. If I would have tried that with the 990 first I would have got into trouble. If you want a fun bike that you still want to ride when you out grow it get a 390 duke. Really it’s all you need for the backroads and it will do 65-85 mph on the freeway With plenty of pull

      Good mentality. Im still learning on an R3 and want to upgrade to this bike next. I was thinking mt07 but i still want a small bike overall.

      @@davo5400yes Yamaha is considered a great brand. The mt 7-9 get a lot of great reviews. I guess price and features are really a decider now. And showdown reviews where they compare different brands. The Ktm390duke has been why on top in the past. I’m sure the current on will rank pretty high. I started with a 1999 speed triple, when I got good I wanted a race bike like Daytona. I got the 675r Daytona triumph. Loved it, best race bike for back road twisties, but your weight is alittle on your wrists and after 2 hours it is uncomfortable. I then realized that a sporty standard was a better bike for out real life roads. When the roads get alittle rough a standard set up is a better ride feel. If I did a lot of track, a race set up would be the best. There is a retro xr900 Yamaha that looks cool. I wish I could ride all these bikes and compare them. I would like to try a Yamaha one time. But these ktms are very torque and they are really fun to rail on. They have a lot of pull, 390-990. Aprillia has a new 450 that is getting good reviews, but another thing I have to look at is are there any dealers around me? Can I get easy service close by? That is a big factor if anything goes wrong.

      Off topic but I have the 2024 Duke 125. The handling is insane. This WP Apex suspension is the business. Got my eye on the 390 for my next bike. What you've said here is definitely pushing it. I know how the 390 will feel because of how the 125 rides...my 125 with more power = 👌🏼 enjoy the 390 bruh

      @@Mcfc2Rich my 2007 ktm 990 superduke is getting older and repairs can be expensive so I’m looking to trade it in on a triumph street triple 765 rs. Anyway my ktm 390 duke was in the shop for some computer issue, what a hassle but it’s got the 2 year warranty so no problem. I got it back today, went on a long ride. When you get your bike back after being without it you really have a great ride. So then I went to triumph dealership to test ride the street triple 765 rs. The street triple was awesome. But this is the point I want to make, I had a long ride on the 390 duke and then jumped on the street triple 765 rs immediately after. Yes the 765 was a better bike but the 390 duke was pretty fun to ride too. More vibration on the duke and the 765 was smoother. The 765 rs is $12,850 and the 390 duke is $6,550 with the quickshifter. The 765rs has a quickshifter too. But again the 390 duke is half the cost and performs amazingly even going back to back against street triple. Imagine when you buy your 390 duke and you said I’m going to keep my 125 duke because it’s just as good. Thats what the 390duke feels like when you are ready to move up to something else. Not too many bikes feel that way when you are ready for something new.

      Exactly the comments I've been searching for- thank you. Recently owned panigale v4 and rsv4 I've been seriously considering a smaller cc bike as a back-up that i can just hop on and have fun, low cost maintenance, low cost accessories, yet still provide some excitement on the back roads

      @@eatselipar yes, best bang for the buck! I have a 2024, 52mpg, quickshifter $250, the slip on exhaust I’m looking at is $370. Everything is less$$ than say a 990 duke. Although I do want to get that 2024 990 duke, it’s light more horsepower and I prefer the larger tires for when your on the freeway. But I don’t prefer the high cost of ownership.

    I’m a lengthy 6 footer and I fit comfortabley for 3 hours. At a stop I’m pretty low but that’s the kind of bike it is for taller people. Pegs are comfortable too. Amazing the bike is still workable for your even taller frames people! I played with the sag settings and made it ride even better.

    Two and half years on a gen2 390, brilliant little thing, yes a few niggles but I over look these as it's so nice to ride, proper fun bike when you want it to be, clutch gears and handling are all super light and the motor has a glorious soundtrack, may swap it in for a new one in the spring.

    I hade the 2023 and the 2024 right next to each other the fit and finish of the 2024 was a couple of notches above. The 23 was about $2000 less on sale but the whole bike on the 24 was improved, had an improved quickshifter and resale will be high on the newer model. Plus over a 60 month loan, you’re talking $34 more a month for a better bike.

    Nice review. I really like the bike but yet again KTM's finish & reliability is in question. They're not as bad as people make out imo but they're also not great either. A lot of people have a lot of issues, some big some small, but issues nonetheless. As it stands I wouldn't buy a KTM currently as I just don't trust them & I really have thought about it on a few occasions but just couldn't pull the trigger in the end.

      Brother the ktm series upto 390 are reliable coz they are built by Bajaj but above 390 they are manufactured by CFMoto which are unreliable,here in India ktm upto 390cc usually goes 100000 km without any overhaul

    First thing it needs is strip the eurotrash standards off it and remap a proper fuel mixture. Seats a board change that. Diving board off the back goes in the trash too

    I own the duke390 gen 3, he missed out on the new gps map connectivity. Quick shifter can be disabled. The adjustable suspension front and rear. Speed control, which locks the speed to your choice. 3 way bluetooth connectivity with phone, tft and a bluetooth headset. This is a very poor bike review. Please cover everything in the bike, you just got stuck too much with the negatives. You talking about breaks not having a bite, I was rolling at 135 on a rainy day, wet road and a Dog decides to show up in my way. Jammed the brakes, it had good bite to stop and avoid a collision and stop without any wobble.

    • @BikeMatters
      @BikeMatters  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Did you watch the whole review? The TFT display was mentioned as smartphone connectable with turn by turn navigation, the suspension was mentioned as adjustable. In my opinion the brakes didn't have the initial bite that other bikes do, but as I said they are certainly capable. Cheers for the comment though!

      The problem is that you jump on to different sections of the bike so fast, it ain't helpful for a person who is looking to purchase this bike. You need to get into the granular aspect of everything when you review a bike, your review felt rushed, you didn't even explain about the adjustable suspension clicks and rear points to adjust. Did not show all the grids of the TFT and many more things which felt rushed, go check some review videos of this bike and compare it with your video, you will get to know your areas of improvement, however I appreciate your efforts, but there is always scope for improvement.@@BikeMatters

      @@BikeMatters your right, we should watch the whole video before we chime in! And yes you’re right about the breaks, all my other bikes have been $15,000 bikes and they have more bite in the brakes. The 390 duke has brakes but you do have to squeeze them. The bigger bikes with more top shelf components work with less squeeze. I’m no expert but this is my experience with these bikes. You won’t over brake 390 duke. I have to be more assertive when I want to brake,still controlled but there is no over braking scare like a more expensive bike

      @Anythingbuteverything-uz9bg 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@michaelrieser9928 I watched the entire Video and I will stick to my point, this is a completely rushed review for 390cc, people who trust him and skip this bike later realising there is more to it which he did not cover, might end up regretting by trusting this type of review.

    • @michaelrieser9928

      @@Anythingbuteverything-uz9bg I agree, I have seen some rushed reviews on good bikes lately. I have had the speed triple, 675r Daytona and ktm 990 superduke. My latest bike is this 2024 ktm 390 duke and I bought it over a 2023 that was $2,000 cheaper on sale. The 23 would have also been an awesome bike but the 24 was a step up in improvements and fit and finish.
      I’m currently looking at the 2024 triumph speed triple 765 rs to replace my 2007 ktm 990 superduke. The triumph street triple 765 rs is $12,850 and the 2024 ktm 390 duke is $6299 plus $250 for the quickshifter. Basically half the cost, and the performance that enjoyment that you get out of that 390 duke is unbelievable. My take on the 390 duke is it’s the best first bike you could have and one of the few bikes you will not want to get rid of! I got it because all the reviews of the past gen and the new gen had high praise for the 390 duke plus its great on gas and service is cheap and any add ons you buy like quickshifter, slip on exhaust, accessories etc are cheaper then what you pay on a bigger bike. The whole ownership experience is a lot of bang for your buck.
