I accepted sikhi more than 10 years ago. All thanks to basic of sikhi and bhai Jagraj Singh ji, he even spoke to me on Skype once.
I am still trying to walk this path. I fail everyday but each day I try to get back on track. Hopefully someday I will take Amrit when I am worthy of it

good luck brother. just a tip: try to keep your hair on your head and beard, because looking at Sikhi outside can inspire you to grow Sikhi inside your body. 😊

Veer ji. Try your best to have paka Amritvela. Amritvela is the first and formost characteristic of being a Sikh. Once you paka your Amritvela & nitnem, everything else will fall in place, then the man ਮਨ will become adol ਅਡੋਲ. And as you may know that the hukum for grahastis is from 3 to 6 am.
And my my, You're so vadhbhaagi to hava gotten to talk to Bhai Sahab Bhai Jagraj Singh ji. And Indeed we all are Vadhbhaagi that Guru Patshah ji called us to their charni and gave us a chance to serve them in this precious human life.
May Guru Gobind Singh Patshah do Their mehr on you and me and every sehajdhari sikh who is walking on this true path and make us Their Khalsa. ♥️🙏🏻
Also ji, if you can understand Hindi, I would suggest to make it a daily habit to listen to Diwans of Bhai Sahab Gurpreet Singh rinku veer ji. I've learnt A LOT in their sangat.

I agree with Harman Singh ji that the youth does not understand the practical applications of Sikh teachings. I also agree that understanding the shortcomings of manmukhi living requires life experience, so it is inevitable that young people first stray and come back when they are older and wiser. Learning is painful and hard.

      Sat Sri Akal ji.
Sister/brother, try your best to have a consistent Amritvela nitnem, a paka Amritvela as that's the first and foremost characteristic of being a Sikh. Amritvela has such a power, I can't even describe. Everything just falls in place and goes smoothly once we have Amritvela. You may know that the hukum for grahastis is 3 to 6 am.
One could begin with doing 1 hour of Amritvela and increase it eventually. And if one can't wake up for Amritvela, it's advised to do it before sleeping since Amritvela time starts from 12:am.
AND if you already do Amritvela then Dhan Bhaag ji. I pray that no such day comes that you don't do Amritvela. And May with each day you develop more and more love for Guru Sahib ji. And may Guru Patshah do mehr on all of us and carry us across the worldy ocean.
Also ji, if you can understand Hindi, I would suggest to make it a daily habit to listen to Diwans of Bhai Sahab Gurpreet Singh rinku veer ji. I've learnt A LOT in their sangat.

I agree with much of what you talk on this channel. I have gained so much for which I will forever be greatful. Just imagine how naturally Sikhi will spread and benefit the world if only Sikhs had an independent homeland, a place we can call home, a government with real political power that had a meaningful voice at the top table amongst great nations of the world. Sikhs today are stateless wondering aimlessly in fragmented groups trying so hard to be heard. Sikhi was never a hard sell indeed it shouldn't be as the world has so much to gain from sikhi but we do not have a centre to which people can turn to with love comfort or security. Raj bina we we will always struggle for basics to be in place to benefit humanity. No offence intended but we must learn from those that once were in the same space sikhi finds itself Jews and Israel being a prime example.

Honest truth, people are leaving because religion doesn’t provide answers but rather blind faith. And people aren’t going to believe without seeing. You can give them all the bani in the world and all the history but it still won’t make a difference. The world needs answers, not adherence to a religion because someone said so. If you can’t provide these answers, how do you expect people to stay?

I've got a question about Sikhi and, particularly, Western Sikhi that I have had for a while.
If someone is a Western Sikh i.e. a Sikh who is living in a Western country (United States, England etc.), they will no doubt be confused as to what life purpose they should serve.
Western values teach us Sikhs that our purpose comes from our self-development and that the goal to attain in life is to become all that we can be. However, in Sikhi, we're taught that our life belongs to Vaheguru and that we should live our lives as God / Vaheguru would have wanted us to live it which would be by adopting the Sikh lifestyle.
How do we as Sikh's living in Western countries reconcile these two opposing views?
    Thank you.

    • @ParminderKaur-qs9oc
      @ParminderKaur-qs9oc ปีที่แล้ว +2

By following the path of guru is the only way we can self develop ourselves otherwise the distractions that are in the world are only making us a bad human. People are falling in lust, anger, greed. In order to be best version of yourself and yes to attain the best in life . We have to include sikhi into our life. Then only you can bring good things into your life and leave the bad things to become the best of yourself.

Truth is, so many now who have donned the appearance are not truly practicing it themselves! The world sees this through social media- this turns people away. And further, the Sikhi of today is far far away from the beauteous teachings of our divine Gurus- for those dont believe me- go straight to the source Sri. GGS ji and find out for yourselves. Further, We ve lost direction and severed from the origins of our 10th Master's teachings and the creation of His Panth. A Panth who protected the weak the needy the helpless, who discriminated against none, who was high spirited at who preached love , mercy, happiness, Faith, unification, Truth, rightounuss in short, they were the Warrior Saint who all could look up to and depend on, and were believed in!

    For example

The lamps of the sun and the moon fill all with light
    sooraj chand upaa-ay jot samaani-aa.
Creating the sun and the moon, He infused His Light into them.
naa tad maa-i-aa magan na chhaa-i-aa naa sooraj chand na jot apaar.
There is no intoxication of Maya there, and no shadow, nor the infinite light of the sun

    chand sooraj du-ay jot saroop
The moon and the sun are both the embodiment of light
    sooraj chand karahi ujee-aaraa.
The sun and the moon give their light
    rav sas daykh-a-u deepak uji-aalaa.
In the lamps of the sun and the moon
    sas ghar soor deepak gainaaray.
He placed the lamps of the sun and the moon in the home of the sky.
    niy fiae Surfeer fimor ae
    de
aapay sarisat upaa-idaa pi-aaraa kar sooraj chand chaanaan.
The Beloved Himself created the Universe; He made the light of the sun and the moon.

It's because of the language barrier between fluency in reading and understanding Punjabi compared to modern English terminology and understanding. There is a loss in modern Sikhi because of this. There are also no Sikh apologetics or international schools that are well-funded. The world is turning to secular "religions" and turning to idol worship. This is the truth of the matter. The world is turning away into sin with loss in faith because of "logistical" athiestic notions.
You say you feel like you don't have to defend or debate someone about your religion and that in essence sounds good on the surface, but truthfully it just means that you are not helping anyone find God by doing so. Yes, He can speak for Himself but we need to allow ourselves to be vessels of His words.
True outreach is when you go out into the world and spread the faith. That is our God-given duty.
