to be honest there wasn't much, the 90s were not about nostalgia or quality, it was all about being different regardless of quality, people in the 90s even mocked everything 80s (the most beloved decade)
1:56 an overwhelmed melancholic greed, begging for a tear from the bottom of a tired heart, enough to shout at his past, enough to get peacefully dispersed in the desert of his soul...never seen such powerful eyes ever for a so powerful character. As a stage actor myself, I wish I had those eyes' expressive strength too. Al Pacino is simply sublime.
I always felt this movie was fine. My biggest issue with it was that Al Pacino had changed too much as an actor. I didnt feel like i was watching the same Michael Corleone. He didnt have that same commanding presence.
The worst part is Pachino lost his voice and manancing look which he had in the 70s. This micheal corleone gives you Tony montana in italian accent vibe.
The first two films are about stylized violence and death. The third is about redemption. Michael's Confession, and the entire third movie, are a masterpiece. Critics didn't understand it. They expected more killing. Michael suffered for his sins by losing the two women he loved -- his first wife and his daughter. But God forgave the once innocent boy who went astray.
With the aging of Michael character, the Corleone family seemed to be vulnerable even though Vincent became the new god father it's not engaging, the house lost the glory after Michael and am sure no way it can be better as it was before. Part3 is like "a king without ministers"
'Micheal' says in that last picture that his father visits him in heaven and says that there is this one thing he did wrong, which he never taught his son anyways! But they never tell, what is it, do they?!
Uhm, the third movie is actually pretty bad and comes nowhere close to even being rated as a 7/10. It's easy to make a sequel, especially when the first two movies are extraordinary masterpieces. The third movie is like a slow drip that everyone is waiting for it to finish. And the actress who plays Mary is the wrong person to play, she is unattractive and her personality comes off in very squirmish ways and nasty. The critics did not get it wrong, they were being nice and scored it higher than the quality of the movie itself provides.
This movie has its faults, but it still is a masterpiece and worthy successor to the originals. I'm always at a loss as to why people complain about it so much other than Sofia Coppola's acting, which is not wonderful but acceptable. It is so strange that serious, creative movies like THE GODFATHER III would be so criticized, yet crap like superhero and STAR WARS movies go nearly unscathed.
It’s a good movie but it’s definitely not a “masterpiece” like the first two are, not even close lol. 1 & 2 are easiest 10/10’s in film for me while 3 is about a 7/10. Still better and more compelling than a lot of films made today but has way too many faults to be in the league of the first two.
It's actually overrated. It's easy to make a sequel when the first two movies are masterpieces, the third movie is like a slow trip that people are waiting for it to finish. The Godfather Part III has been having some alterations made to it so audiences will be more satisfied with the third and final entry of the film series, it will be re-released with those changes in December
There's at least two alternative takes in this trailer that they changed in the final cut. 3:16 In the final cut, Micheal doesn't slap the table, and the line is changed to, "Vincent, will you shut up?!" 3:33 The scene is also changed in the film when Vincent speaks to Altobello. In the final cut, Vincent remains respectful but vague in his answer to Altobello, changing the line from "I'm a Corleone." to "It's all taken care of."
"If every drug pusher in this room were to drop dead, I'd be the only one alive." As many times as I've seen this movie, I've never heard that line. I wonder if they cut it out somewhere along the line?
Maybe, but Vincent is supposed to have been changed by Michael's teachings, so reacting like that would have been a bit inappropriate for the moment.
@@gorlami9232 I think most of the fans want another movie so there’s a change to fix the plot. Same thing with Star Wars, we cannot die before there’s a new trilogy that’s better than the last

It would hold some weight, were it not for the fact that she surely knew early-on who he was, and what his family was involved in. She might have been respectable, had she not profited greatly first from his wealth and power before murdering his unborn child and turning on him like an ungrateful cur. She is more evil than him, because she is a disloyal coward and all evil begins with cowardice and duplicity.

I've only seen the trailer for this movie, but I'm absolutely dying to see it. It absolutely looks so good. What a damn classic! If this movie is as good as the reviews say, I'd like to own it via DVD.
I've been reluctant to watch this because almost everyone says it's bad, but I came back to say it's really not! There are only two bad things I can point out from this movie and those are Sofia Coppola's acting - it was the least acceptable, she could not deliver a line for her life 😟 (I read somewhere that Winona Ryder was supposed to do it. That would've been sick.). As for the second bad thing, the romance between Vincenzo and Mary... it was uncomfortable 😐 But excluding those, it's an okay film and not really bad as people like to describe it. I do agree though that it would've been perfect if the films stopped at the second part, but I read the director's reasoning and yeah, I guess that happens. Also, I notice people are saying that Al Pacino's acting kind of "changed" here but I feel like the lack of "authority" in his presence/demeanor in this movie was intentional? I don't know if it's a reach, but his character here was not the same as his character in the last two films. He was still Michael Corleone but to my understanding, he lost himself in this part. He had too much regrets and there was a lot of self-hatred for the things he's done before. He obviously did not like the person he's become over the years, so it would be understandable if his self-esteem was lowered, and as a result, it oozed out of him. But anyway, that's just my take of this film. I actually like it a lot, contrary to what I thought before watching it 🤣 It was a great film, honestly. 8/10 for me. Not a perfect score but I still highly recommend!
Has anyone who's read The Saga of The Godfather knows Sonny Corleone Tom Hagen home with him when he was 10 years old does anyone know whether there was any thought given to filming this aspect of the novel or was it maybe filmed and just later not used filmed and not used later hope someone can help thank you
Interesting trailer, it has a few scenes that were not in any version of the finished movie. Scenes that were either trimmed or alternate scenes that weren't used.
Godfather 3 is not a bad movie at all problem is it's compared only to Godfather 1 and 2 that's like comparing Philip Rivers to Tom Brady and Joe Montana but if you compare Godfather 3 to other films it starts to look a heck of a lot better.
The problem is Al Pacino started acting as Al Pacino in every movie after Godfather II. (Just like The Rock, Jason Statham) Michael Corleone seems gone in this part.
The movie was great. Two things could have brought the final product to the level of the 2 first installment, firstly Robert Duvall. He should have been there and there was not suitable replacement. Firstly and mostly though the problem is Al. He changed the mimics of the character to the point that there is no continuity. The make up did not help but ultimately his acting choices for the super beloved Micheal Corleone were not good. Like when he speaks while walking, and too much humor for MC. And I mean people change and I guess Al decided to go for that change but it was not of my liking. I missed the mannerisms and the consistency of MC. On the other side of the coin there is Talia Shire who took it for the team. I think she was brillant and underrated as Connie. He development is executed with such class that I believed every scene of her. She was the same Connie as ever. Talia added layers to this complex character by adding logic to her dialogue. I could see the change unfolding and it was a delight to see Connie becoming a mixture of her mom and dad. I liked Andy a lot. He could have brought even more to the franchise I believed. The scenes with Al are Al’s best in my opinion. Ahhh okay as for Sofia , I think she was okay, it was the role as well, as long as she showed some nativity and innocence, no more was required of her and I think the hate is totally unnecessary. Other small characters were not so good as Al son, he is just very flat, and not that it mattered but flat. Kate I mean Diane is another case of continuity but I think she is slightly better than Al in this one. I read that for Al the character after finishing the second was hard to let go and of a reason. It is still not cool to think he did not win an Oscar for that performance. Al is just the best so nothing matters as long as he the actor is fine! Just saying because the last I want is to diminish the genius of Al. But it is just one of those cases where the bar was so high and unfortunately the third edition did not really stand to the quality of the first 2.

Also the Cardinal Killing scene for ease of the Corleone Family looks like it may be been copied with the Death of the San Diego Padres Owner Peter Sieburg who dies mysteriously 1 day before San DIego Pitcher Blake Snell wins the Cy Young Award. The Reason, Owner Peter would like to Keep Blake on the Team, however, now with the Cy Young he is a Free AGent asking for more $$$, and Padres GM AJ Fieler would rather trade Blake for more $$$ and get team cash, so maybe he was behind Padres owner Death.
There should have been only Godfather the Original. Rest is passe. I read the novel when it released, watched the movie therafter, a bit disappointed compared to the Novel. The historical (thru whatemporal-sociopolitical grinding wheel). two. The logical-poetic.., eye & ear & all aesthetic sensing and lingering feeling. Above and beyond all, the film director resembles or reminds of some kind of ‘god’, for that generous freedom of decisive and final choices available for ‘picking’. Of course, withe privilege come the obligation: Choices needed must be made. In the case of gFiii, ffC made a nepotic error in casting his own child upon a (by then public) universal story. He shrunk a NW tapestry down to a home doormat, and that doomed minorole accompanies the viewer all along itscreening. Beyond that or whatever else one may reproach, the one critically defining element be missing. What? added in the larger scheme of things, if anything at all as rather due. (Niente aggiunto.) The film be beautiful pleasant distraction, entertainment-not film art.

Add a Mac Dre for a second and you'll be fine
Waiting For The Godfather Part 4 🔫
I don't know why people like godfather I would love to watch gladiator or Troy rather than this movie
❤❤
Bad luck haha❤❤ I got your back
Now we 'we know' what inspired Idiot Heavy Weight Boxes MIke Tyson to bite Evander Hollified's Ear off , it was a Dare to the Mob, from GodFather Part III at 3:19 in this clip.
1:00 creepy
The third film wasn't underrated. The first two were overrated.
There should have been only Godfather the Original. Rest is passe. I read the novel when it released, watched the movie therafter, a bit disappointed compared to the Novel.
But Part II was just another good movie but not in the same class. Part III? I never paid attention to it.. and now I guess I was right.
The first gidafatehr was ouzis triumph. Hos other books weren't s good. Two was a fabulous example of the people who made the series and their talenst. This was very different. I m thinking different writers and all. It was good. The first two were wondedful
Trailer is far better than the movie itself
Made in L'Ami Louis.
Now LVMH .

..a film, as any a piece of art, tend be appreciated only via personal filtering through-hopefully honest, not copycat.
As regards its evaluation, leastwo levels awaIT:
one.
(Niente aggiunto.)
The film be beautiful pleasant distraction, entertainment-not film art.
This 3rd Godfather sucks mostly because of Garcia and Copolas daughter falling in love and the killings in the end with the glasses etc Around the time it came out was Goodfellas as well and ppl had enough of mob movies
Me and Sofia Coppola would have been a better couple
Do yourself a favour end your Godfather movie marathon at 2. Now make up your own story for what happened after and then go and watch Scarface or Goodfellas.
This movie was Rubbish!
Duvall made the right choice.
How does it end in the books,i just watched it and i wasn't bad is wasn't like the first two but.
@@artcahanaj7301 books most the time are better because of our imagination, 3 was a money making movie simple as that
Is godfather 3 beyond the books?
At what part does book ends
@@sameershahbaz9652 The book is just Godfather 1, with the Vito scenes from Godfather 2.
I only have the tapes for the first two films but why not finish the trilogy?
Even trailer is boring
We have god to thank there was not a godfather 4 after this crap
