My father Dimitri was in the Red Army and when he reached Berlin he got out of his tank and went to the Allies side. He ended up in Brazil where I was born in Sao Paulo in 1949. Ever since I can remember he used to sing this song always with his Russian friends. In 1961 our family immigrated to USA and he kept on singing this song until his passing in 2001. I am now 75 and have this and many other WW2 songs in my mind, he also loved " Tri Tankista", I can go on with his songs for ever, but just wish you the best from Chicago.
