NORDVPN is too expensive for majority of us who don’t have money to throw around spending hundreds on web browsing blocker plus the add-on and mobile app have too many advertisements even with 30-day trial, believe me I tried it out twice.
I bark laughed so loud I scared my cat, as both a Woosan devotee and someone who spent a summer engrossed in Chad/Ryan just was not expecting or ready for it
personally i love the "overwhelming" sound from ateez! It's one of my favorite things about them, but also the fact that they make music like Guerrilla and Halazia, but also songs like Eternal Sunshine and Aurora. They're so diverse and somehow manage to do every genre so well!
The 'overwhelming' is kinda a signature of ateez ig. Their songs usually hv the build-up where it being beautifully & dramatically explodes, not just straight plain explodes if you get what i mean. So they aren't just loud, they make it emotionally dramatic to attack our heart & mind intensely, and hence, the overwhelming feeling ~ Example of songs they did this are Desire, Answer, Precious, Inception, Turbulence, Guerilla, Halazia, Answer(Ode to joy). Like fr, this is what got me into ateez real bad, there's hardly any 4th gen boygroup do this style anymore
Yeosang's timbre is so so incredible and this was the song that showed it off. I loved how it gave the vocals so much texture because I feel like nowadays people are so focused on a person's ability to hit high notes whereas I really like stability and a smooth voice, it generally sounds cooler in lower registers.
8:52 I love how he got that despite Halazia being super lore heavy, the lyrics (and all of ATEEZ's lore songs) are actually relatable outside of the storyline. Another reactor mentioned how the song resonated with her in how she was feeling stuck in life and just wanted to feel again. It's a song about breaking shackles and boundaries, whether they be physical or mental and I could definitely relate. Goes to show just how creative ATEEZ and their team are!
I love all the contrasts in Halazia: the various vocal timbres, wide variety of sounds an instruments used, the switch ups of the styles and genres within the backtrack, etc Also something I've noticed recently in ateez music is an increase in chromaticism. It's not as in your face here as in other tracks ( Cyberpunk for example) but I still feel the influence of it
Hey Bree! I see this reaction awakened your music knowledge 😆♥️ anyways, could you explain more abt Chromaticism if you may? Oops, just realized I use my other account. This is My Life *.✧ btw 😅
@Sky~ oh hi!!! Idk if I ever told you this but I'm actually a music teacher irl So chromaticism- this is a very simplified explanation but here it goes. When music moves by steps it can move by whole steps or half steps. A scale made of all half steps is a "chromatic" scale. This means you don't just have the standard Do Re MI Fa Sol LA Ti Do of a scale but you've also got all the sharps and flats too. If you've ever touched each key on the piano( black keys and white keys) in order then congrats, you've played a chromatic scale! Chromaticism is somewhat uncommon in pop music. Ateez has been using it quite a lot since the first movement album, which is interesting because up until that point I didn't notice it as a Hallmark of their compositional style
When I first listened to this song, the last halazia "no more keep control" chorus felt like such an overwhelming sense of emotion and I feel like its because the song built up so effectively to that point. Like, the almost crying out "halazia" with those crunchy chords underneath (especially the 2nd and 3rd time jongho sang halazia in that bit, his "halazia" resolved to like, an unresolved chord) it created this like opening up of emotion that was nowhere else in the song, and I found that sooo effective. This song reminds me of the feeling I had when listening to ateez debut era songs, love it so much bruv
The first time I heard this song I was a bit overwhelmed too by the amount of beat changes in it. They switch to reggaeton, then a breakcore kinda dnb, then something very hardstyle with the 4-on-the-floor, but now getting more context into the lore it makes sense, how they are "using everything to try and get a reaction out of people", using the most overwhelming beats to wake people up from this emotional inertia, really cool concept
I was a music major for a short time and I love music but I have never been good at explaining how the music adds to the story of the song. I can feel and visualize the story in my head but I can’t explain it. In that way this channel helps me a lot!! I am an Atiny so I do understand Ateez’s lore and style but I have a hard time explaining it to other people. So thank you for helping me understanding the storytelling aspect in the music! I also didn’t realize organ was in this song which is so cool! More organ in music please! I didn’t even think about how the different styles within the song are a way of Ateez waking up the people. Ateez’s story telling is unmatched in Kpop. Thank you so much for reviewing Ateez again!!! We Atiny appreciate it and love your feedback and interpretations.
I have a degree in music myself and I can't explain to my friends who don't appreciate music like I do WHY I'm suddenly in love with Ateez and Stray Kids so I get it.
I highly recommend to literally everyone and their mom to listen to the Hidden Vocals version on TH-cam because Maddox, arguably one of the very best high range vocalists of the industry, had a literal field day with the harms he almost exclusively did himself on this track. It's so much in fact that it's almost like a separate song. It's incredible. Please show our Maddox some love. And in case you don't know who Maddox is: he is an artist under KQ Entertainment but is also heavily involved in the production of Ateez songs, has spoken on intros and outros of Ateez albums and is also composing, writing and arranging for Ateez' little brothers Xikers now, a freshly debuted boy group from KQ Entertainment.
18:11 this comparison of Guerrilla & Halazia. Exactly! I LOVE Guerrilla at first listen. I still do. It has all the elements that I love. But it's not a song that I want to listen to every time. Halazia however, always gets my attn. From the day it was released, up till now, more than 4 months later, I still actually WANT to listen to daily. What exactly did they put in this song?! Ateez's next comeback will be on 16 June. I'm super excited! Will it outdo Halazia for me? I cant wait to find out.
I so agree about more organ - I LOVE the use of that in this song for elevating the sweep and grandeur of it. Loved hearing everyone’s perspectives here which is so unique among kpop discourse~~
9:18 I REALLY love this perspective. I never thought of the song that way. Slowly openly up and expressing more and more. That is such a great perspective.
can we talk about the cool percussion intermission in 15:32? ...don't get me wrong, I love listening to Kevin's music hour on the piano, but that hit different
i'm not an atiny but if i were to stan any 4th gen group, it would definitely be ateez! usually i'm not into groups with ongoing lore because it's so hard to keep up, but ateez's lore is just so intriguing and their music is so unique compared to literally every other kpop group. almost all of their title tracks are like anthems, they make you feel emotional and hyped at the same time!
I hadn't thought about this until they brought it up in this video but it is cool how the chorus in the "Hala Hala Hala halazia" sounds kinda like a solid block (I'm not a musician so bear with me on this one), like it's kinda emotionless and monotonous and it keeps repeating until suddenly Jongho sings his line and it sounds super emotive and powerful, so it's kinda like living in the strictland world and then being woken up (? I might be reading too much into it but it fits with my fantasy so I'm going with it
This is so cool to watch, especially when they showed how budy the percussion made the rap parts on an actual drum and also saying how Yeosang's bass voice is used like an instrument. I'm so happy to have found this.
THIS IS WHY I ABSOLUTELY LOOOOOOOVE THIS CHANNEL BRUH. APPRECIATE AND LOVE HALAZIA AND AIN’T KNOW ONE BETTER THEN THE MUSICIANS ON THIS GLORIOUS CHANNEL. 🥹👏🏽
Have you all heard a instrumental version of this? Specially the verse of Seonghwa and Yeosang, on the song you can't perceive it as much bc it's so low but whatever that instrument is in the back at that part is SO GOOD I wish they put it louder, it's my favorite part along the chants at the back and bridge!
And the different music in the trailer was SO good as well.. ALSO how the trailer was filmed was a lot better than the MV(and it's already so good but yeah) I wish they edited it the same way, it's such a pity many missed that :(
It's our new editor Kota who killed the edits for this video! 🔥 I'll let her know :D There's a team of 4 editors (Colton, Kota, Camilla and I) who rotate editing Classical Musicians React series videos now ^^
This editing had me laughing the whole time. Thank you for reacting to halazia! Ateez is my favorite group and I love all of your reaction videos so this made me so happy!!
I absolutely love this!! The musicians dissected the song really well and brought out all the little things that I would have never noticed as someone who doesn’t study music professionally. 8:50 - 9:37 explains exactly why I love this song so much, ATEEZ does an wonderful job in expressing a complex storyline and invoking strong emotions! 💕
Very interesting as always! I am always fascinated by how different everyone's perception of sound can be based on how your ear is trained or maybe rather what it's used to. As someone who listens to a lot of metal since childhood, this song isn't overwhelming for me at all, it's just really..driving. One of the best pop songs I've ever heard for sure!
Your editing deserved an award. Chef's kiss. I could have listened to the drumming a long with song--it'd be great for a cover. I thought someone might have called out the choir sounding notes underneath the 2nd part of Hongjoong's rap because I want to know why it feels so satisfying. Thanks for the reaction!
One more thing about the title...Halazia, HALA in their world is hearts Awaken, Live Alive. In Hindu it mean Black mass...or their moons or eye in the sky...its what controls the masses...its even seen floating over ATINY at their concerts. Now Zia, this mean light in both Arabic and Latin. So u can read Halazia like "Bring Light to the Black Mass." Hope that helped a little.

Halazia has such an impact when you look at it in the context of their discography leading up to it, and I love it so much. As an ATINY i solely made sure to come back here everytime just for the sake of seeing you guys appreciating Yeosang's vocals! I do hope that ATEEZ would see the reactions on this channel and be proud of it!!
i just realized something...all this time, my mind automatically read the title as "classical musical student" but then, i saw it.. there's no "student" in the title! WHY DID I THOUGHT THEY'RE STUDENTS!!??
thank you for reacting to ateez halazia!! It was interesting to hear musicians' opinions on it and it was also funny to watch thanks to the great edits/memes! 😂 Ty again!!
OH I BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE i love hearing your guys takes as one classical musician to many many others it’s so fun to talk about the intricacies of kpop and how interesting it is
Finally watched this I absolutely love hearing everyone break what did or didn't work for them down. Thank you! (Also thank you editor for the much needed laughter ❤️)
HOLY DAYUM THANKS FOR ATEEZ CANT WAIT FOR PIXY WOWOWOWOW never expecting Ateez reactions, because there isn't so much of a classical touch to it, even if musically Ateez are mostly interesting 😍 I love the way PIXY's title track is a fusion of two songs really good songs
Love the video, the editors need a raise, everything was on point¡¡ Ju young and Kayla you know you want to stan ateez...become atiny....join us hahaha 😜
Love getting overwhelmed, like you literally can't breathe. You can never get that feeling back again except during first listen. That sounded weird... Lol
