Now he is a spanish youtuber, his channel is "KNekroGamer" he has a video called "POKEMON - Cómo conseguí ser Tercero del mundo" where he talks about his experience in the Pokémon World championships, I dont remember if he mentions the Sailboat show on that video but if you want I can watch it again and give you a summary of it. Also try to conctact him, he is regular on social media so maybe he remember some more details of the Sailboat show
maybe try reaching out the TCG/VGC players from Australia. Most likely you will find a player who been playing for a long time that went or knew someone who did
It was EPIC I was the event manager but in the days before digital tech had no way of recording any of it. I'm surprised Nintendo Australia don't have it...
@@MewisMe700 pretty sure Team Rocket, who were on the ship were on their way to capture Pikachu at the Crystal Palace and they fired rockets from the ship as they approached Luna Park, swung down on ropes on the ship, they never got off the ship from memory. Then somehow Pikachu and Charmander fought them off protecting Crystal Palace and they left on the ship. We did stage shows at every game launch in Melb & Sydney for the next 12months at Myer & David Jones. It was pretty awesome. Over 8000 ppl a day came through the doors to play the new games, get cards and see the show.
I heard about the poke pirate ship & try’s looking into myself a bit ago but I couldn’t find any accept the Spanish article & a deleted reddit thread. I wish I could of visited this, I would of love to have seen it.
Found the photo was just of us inside with the mascot, unfortunately I do not remember much about the event I was only 6 at the time from what I do remember they had giant pokemon mascots a room filled with tables that people were playing pokemon and trading cards you also could buy an exclusive show bag filled with stuff only sold at the event one of which is a folder filled with 9 pikachu cards which I still have 😁
God I remember a bit of this in media. I was a bit too young and in Melbourne or I would have been here in a flash. There's a bunch of stuff from old kids magazines and I think photos of Jessie and James actors in the day but I don't recall this ship stuff at all.
