This just inspired me to do a Leeds save and bring Bielsa back but actually back him in the transfer window 😂 brilliant video especially when we should be playing fm25 now
Love this save concept and really enjoying the series so far. I was about to comment that the style of play doesn't matter, only wins matter, when you said exactly that! I'm tempted to do a similar style of save at some point, but it would be so cool if FM could include a DoF/GM mode one day (even though that completely defies the name of the game.. haha!)
Yeah exactly the style of play is only relevant due to the way the teams played when I got the stats. If I were to try and replicate a specific style of football, I would do the holiday baseline tests again with the highest performing teams in the style I have selected!
No wonder the set pieces are strong, they have lots of tall centre backs! They have recently been playing with a back three with Burgess, Sykes and Machida (6'5, 6'5, 6'3)
Not sure if you've done It already however you have a DOF employed and he earns 50% of what you do, so consider that... Also sack him if you can because you don't need him as you're doing that role.
I like the idea of changing the tactical style with each club. Maybe instead of applying the moneyball analysis to what is successful across leagues/competitions to at least starting with identifying what is successful historically in that specific league? It may end up the same but I think goes a little further into keeping the local (national) identity, and then if need be expand further to really push for European success
Yeah this is what I meant in the video could definitely look to do this! Would you think it's better to do at the end of this series and carry it on, or start a new one with a Journeyman type save in mind?
@TheCultofFM I think after this series in the same game save, so it's continuing the same world and you could keep tabs on former clubs to see if they have continued success or fall apart without the moneyball method. Plus that avoids the likelihood of ending up finding the same players to recruit if you started a fresh save with a new club
Never thought of playing an FM save in this way, a great idea to try out and loving the series, thanks Jack. Out of interest, what happens if the human manager gets sacked?
Thank you glad you're enjoying it! Is it something you'd try yourself or something that's more just interesting to watch as a video series? The human manager depends on how you want to set up the save I guess!
This always happens in director of football saves. The line-up screen in game always shows players in the wrong positions. I'm not sure why that happens, it's quite annoying. Loving the series so far, as a Belgian it'll be interesting how far you can take Union (even though they're my team's rivals lol)
Hi Jack, I guess you forgot to address my question in this episode as promised. I asked about the number of playable leagues loaded in your save and whether you have adjusted the detailed level. So that I can replicate and follow your save along.
wish FM had a proper director mode so you don't have to do all the hassle getting around it.
It's a good concept but the game is called football manager after all.
Nice way to start the day! Have a good one m8
Thank you, you too I hope you enjoy!

Love this! Thank you for the comment. I actually had this on my list of ones to do off camera!

Love the concept, I would rather that we focus on the data and the process over watching the games
Toppppppp!!!!!!

Yeah absolutely a great and surprising start from the team! I didn't expect us to start so well!

Just casually give yourself 13m a year, nothing dodgy here at all
You could train everyones weaker foot too 👍🏻

@ Definitely would consider trying myself too. Looking forward to the next episode already!

Thank you I appreciate it! Haha hopefully you can see past it for the series!
You have ingame editor, just give "manager" 10yr contract so he doesnt leave. In the end it's up to you to sack him if he doesnt do well.
Thats don't work they still leave when other teams come in
Hi Jack,

Hi mate no I didn’t I said I’d cover it in episode 2 this is episode 1!
@TheCultofFM Thanks
What leagues do you have on playable or view only
Will cover this in Episode 2!
I cant download the views and filters without upgrading to premium?
This shouldn't be the case! Let me know if you aren't able to download them still.
Hired a member of Mourinho’s back staff, what do you expect with style of football 😂
