This is beyond beautiful. When I lived in Washington, DC I spent many, many happy hours at the Cathedral taking in some of the beautiful special services there. I'm so thankful for those memories, and for the message of hope that Christ gives in these rough days.
This wonderful consecrated space was my refuge during the two months following the 9/11 attacks, while I was detailed to our nation's capital to take part in the post attack response. It was an absolutely necessary place of peace, a place to rest the mind and spirit after spending endless hours, days, weeks, months, dealing with efforts to understand and deal with the unthinkable. Once again, I find myself seeking refuge here, virtually this time, when our nation is battling for its survival. I wish for everyone their own refuge from the fray, especially at this time of the year, when we celebrate the idea of redemption, and a symbolic, supreme act of self-sacrifice in the name of mankind.
The concert was wonderful in every way. Thank you so much for going the extra mile and presenting it. The brass ensemble was terrific and the whole chorus at the end was joyful. The Cathedral looks magnificent and what a treat to see the carillon played. I've never seen that before.
I'm 'almost' glad we have social distancing. During a normal Advent/Christmas season, I would not have taken the time to listen to this wonderful concert. Thank you for sharing your talent.
