Time = $$$$$$$$$$ do not devalue your time! I would recommend crank bearings, crank, and oem ignition in addition to the seals. Thoroughly clean the carb to make sure there is no shavings in it, if after cleaning it stiil doesn't tune, toss it and put an oem carb on it.
I have a holzfforma g444. The carb on it was full of metal shavings from machining. They didn't even clean it before assembly. Once I got the carb cleaned I couldn't get the saw to tune properly at all. Once I changed the seals the saw came around and I am 20 tanks of fuel in. Still has cross hatching in the cylinder so far. See how it goes I guess. The g255 I have has been flawless so far at 13 tanks
I don't think they're worth it if you're paying somebody else, but I picked one up that looked like brand new for 40 bucks with a scorched top end. Checked it visually for air leaks, vac/ pressure tested. put a new 52 mm Highway pop-up top end on it, muffler mod,new OEM recoil rope, tuned it, new husqvarna decals, runs GREAT! set up with 24" sugihara LW, had a 28" on it buried in red oak, surprisingly pulls it with authority! Best 150.00 i ever spent lol! So far anyhow.. i wouldnt get too deep into one money wise, new are only about 300USD, but id think a hyway or meteor top end would be better quality than what it came with?? The new hyway visually looked very clean and well manufactured to me compared to the look of the original farmertec ports..
Thanks for your attention to detail! Awesome job! I hope you know how much your customers appreciate you. Stay safe, and God bless
Don’t forget , these holt for a saws are known for ignition timing way out to lunch !
