Recently found this song, very late, but holy fuck! U killed it! When my family are away, the neighbours will hear my practice!! Thanks for the lesson brother ❤
If You see at the end of the vid he is playing with the double pickup closer to the bridge, it's more like a super strato in this case. Probly he has some distortion pedals as well and a compressor to avoid the strato distorsion high volume noise.
Great, man really good cover! I have got a question every time I hammered on the fourth fret it doesn't sound like that octave c which Josh plays so can I have help on the tuning because that may be the problem thank you. Unless its something else?
Like the other people said, it's C standard and a harmonic on the 5th fret. It also may be due to what strings you have. If you have 9's it's gonna be damn near impossible to play this without sound out of tune, maybe with heavy tops, but just get 10's or 11's and it won't sound out of tune since it's a higher gauge. I recommend D'adarrio NYXL strings. They are amazing and really durable. If you wanted to, you could keep them on there for prolly half a year and not break a string, but you should replace them once they start rusting because if not, you can destroy your fret board.
Is it down picking or alternate when your doing the 00 5 00 5 part? Cause when im doing it in downpicking it sounds wierd and alternate it sounds totally wrong..
James Sillas hm. Well thanks for the tip. But the 5 isnt the problem. Its that i cant get the 00 right. If i downpick it, It sounds too slow. And if i am alternate picking it its too fast. But if i only play 0 5 0 5 0 5 over and over it actually sounds right! And when i am thinking about it it kinda makes sence.. Since the 5 is just a really quick tap it kinda makes an extra 0. So it stil sounds like 00 5 even tough im playing 0 5. I am fairly new to guitar so i dont know if that is actually a official thing. That the releasing of a tap acts as one note. But it works for me! I am just unsure since if you read a tab on the song it says 0 5 00 5 not 0 5 pull off 0 0 5 or something like that..
Arnthor mittefternamnskadutaattgefani I know I’m a year late but the 5 is actually a harmonic over the fifth fret and it is two 0pen strokes between the harmonics. One short one held. There are a few points when it just alternates but doing two open and one harmonic the whole time works too.
use a parametric equalizer to really REALLY boost the mids (300-100Hz range) and bump the volume on whatever is the source of the equalization. That's what gives the Queens that gnarly, cocked Wah sound. After that, dial in more overdrive as appropriate. But you might not even need that much after step 1.
What about the middle and neck? Are they covered? If so why and with what ? Never seen that before. Amazing cover and tone by the way. Love your bends and vibrato. There is when a bend is a bit sharp but you so close to the note that it would not be noticable to the average ear.
the hardest part about this song is remembering all the different guitar fills although a few do repeat. Solid work man, fuckin awesome job
I usually just make shit up for the fills and it works lol
@@emilioisokay_2252 yep, same here, josh does it too
I was born with a memory of a goldfish so I just improvise something for thew fills
I find the hardest part keeping the rhythm going when playing some of the harmonics on the 5th fret
100%
Close enough? Nah m8, You're spot on! Fantastic cover! As always, The intro and outro sent chills down my spine ;)
Amazing song to moshpit on my man

jesus
how do you get this kind of sound with a stratocaster?
If You see at the end of the vid he is playing with the double pickup closer to the bridge, it's more like a super strato in this case. Probly he has some distortion pedals as well and a compressor to avoid the strato distorsion high volume noise.
Nice cover. Like your tone. Is that a Couch guitar strap?
Después de este chingón cover, ya no volvió a subir videos el vato

if i remember good , its a pintched note , that mean every 4th note are pinched and the strommed 0 arent ( sorry for english)
+Cass Oti The tuning is C standard

It's a natural harmonic on the 5th fret 🤙
Love it !
good job !!!
I would say Josh couldn't do better. My respect 👌🏼
sweet!
AMAZING cover man, how did you record the audio?
Great...
2000th like🎉
Tone 😍
what happened to your axe?
Fucking nailed it! Nice job!
Is it down picking or alternate when your doing the 00 5 00 5 part? Cause when im doing it in downpicking it sounds wierd and alternate it sounds totally wrong..
Instead of 005 try 0 0 12

Maybe i should know this. But whats with the tape?
I'm guessing they removed the neck pickup and just taped up the hole.
J N from what i can see the pickups are still there and there is tape over the pickups.
Just to cover up the pickup holes! I've since bought a proper H only pickguard
Do you need pedals for this?
Yo también !!!
A distortion pedal should do fine
whats with the tape over the pickups
what tuning do you use?
It's c standard
niceee!!! what gear do you have??
NOICE
What tuning is this in?
C Standard tuning. 2 whole steps down from E Standard
C Standard I'm fairly sure, almost all songs on SFTD are in this tuning
if im not mistaken its C F A# D# G C
Why do you have tap over your pick ups?
Is this standard tuning or something else?
C standard
tabs?
tape over the pickups?
No screw driver
@@MrKnisterable can you make pickups with screws?!
Awesome man! If you're into QOTSA you might like the song on my channel :) Keep playing brother
did you use a fuzz?
no, there is no fuzz
Prepsi Of TDU2 sounds like a nice super overdrive with a shit tone of mids
Just shit time of gain
use a parametric equalizer to really REALLY boost the mids (300-100Hz range) and bump the volume on whatever is the source of the equalization. That's what gives the Queens that gnarly, cocked Wah sound. After that, dial in more overdrive as appropriate. But you might not even need that much after step 1.
nice cover man, wondering what pickup you have in the bridge? cheers
Cheers :) it's a Seymour duncan custom custom

Behind The Lenses he removed the middle and neck pickup, and use tape to cover the holes
Tuning?
Jack Hail To The Kid C F A# D# G C. I think this is right if not then it might be G# on the second string
C standard. You will need 10's with heavy tops to play this, it sounds out of tune with 9's since the tuning is so low
give tabs please
Nailed the fuck out of it.
