They're okay. Some of them are cool in the beginning, but by the end of the game it throws enemies at you that basically ignore all of your powers. Then the game fucking sucks.
JZStudios Damn, that sounds awful. I was thinking of picking it up because Control runs awful for me despite meeting the recommended specs. I also love games with time powers.
@@jgsource552 No. I haven't played Control to directly compare, but it often takes your powers away from you. QB also has a time freeze bubble that you "shoot" at enemies, but for some reason I could never use it reliably so I ended up just never using it.
I am currently replaying Control. This games makes me interested to play QB and revives my interest to play Alan Wake series which I only played briefly.
@@matthewsmith1779 unfortunately it's not the case. I found superpowers in QB are rather too gimmicky, and it's basically a shooter game. I admit the story is interesting. I may revisit the game sometimes in the future.
@@eriol33 The Powers in QB all flow together. You can use them at the same time. There are skills for when an enemy is close, skills to rush-down enemies, and skills to escape. With Control, the only useful power is launch. If you max out launch and health, you don't need anything else. You barely even have to use your service weapon. Also, the enemies in Control are much more annoying in the fact they spawn out no where from anywhere in the room. I can't count how many times I seemingly "cleared" a room of enemies only to have an object fly out of nowhere and take out 90% of my health. Death usually follows soon after. Control has so many cheap deaths. Cheap deaths seems to be a part of the core game play mechanic of Control. The story of QB is a lot better as well.
@@matthewsmith1779 I think you just arent good at the game. What proves this is saying launch is the only good power then claiming the game is full of cheap deaths
Thanks for an interesting comparison between these two games. Quantum has a better sound where gunfights are concerned. Not so much in that the sound is more realistic, I think both games are pretty much equal in that respect, but Control's gunshot sounds during fights sound as if the shooting was recorded in a concealed space. The handgun in the Control scene almost sounded as if there was a weak silencer attached to her gun, and particularly the last scene sounded as if it was taking place within a different kind of area with bullets ricocheting off walls made of different material than what was present in the space where it took place in the game. I think it was the middle part of the Control shooting scenes that sounded as if there was a slight echo sound that wouldn't have been in such a space in real life. I agree with your take on the closeup details of their faces and, of course, their hair. However, there is a certain weakness that goes with so much visible clarity of a game character's face: It is easier to see what is missing in making their faces look completely real. With a blurred picture as we see in Quantum Break, we don't get a chance to point out what is missing in terms of detail realism. And what's more, when we play the game we don't watch pictures in still or slow motion, we are too busy with anticipating the following pictures that appear to be in motion (because the time between each frame is so short). Finally, there are the jumping motions. Yes, the player character in Quantum Break appears more clumsy in some of his jumps, but this also makes him appear a good deal more realistic than I think is the case with the Control player character. There were times in Control where it looked as if she had been moved a bit ahead in frozen position during a jump, to allow for her jump to seem farther than it could possibly have been in reality. __________________________________________________________________________________ Edit: Corrected the indentation between paragraphs issue that still persists.
I recently got Control Ultimate Edition, and it was pretty awesome as hell, nothing I expected. Of course, I enabled Ray Tracing because why not? I've been meaning to check out Quantum Break and am looking forward to Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake and Control 2.
@Kattos _ yeah but I mean they probably won't fund the second game since there is not a 100% chance that it'll succeed, its too much of a risk for remedy and Microsoft

Before I played Control Epic gifted it twice.... I finally asked my siblings whether it was a fun game and gave it a shot. I'm glad I did. I love it! I'm getting a bit of Stranger Things vibes with adults. So not pure horror, but actually a thriller. The type of genre I prefer. I dislike horror.
I got bored of controls running up and down in the same building. Likewise the building was poorly designed. The environment in Quantum Break was more interesting and more varied. It was a better game overall.
your channel is one of the best for comparison, nicely done video once again ! And what the hell with film grain ? These 2 games are grainy enough even without film grain lol
For quantum break, it has some weird upscaling on pc that's turned on by default. This runs the game at a lower resolution, but performance is so much better
I've never played Quantum Break, but Control is an audiovisual masterpiece. It's been quite a long time since I've been this impressed with a game from an audiovisual standpoint. Especially with the sound, which is often kinda overlooked in games - IMO it has some of the best audio designs I've ever seen (well, heard) in a game.
It’s so cool to see remedy’s genre range. From action noir shooters like Max Payne 2 to the Haunting Survival Horror game Alan Wake and now Mind Bending Sci-Fi shooters like Quantum Break and Control.
I haven't played control a lot yet, but thus far I liked quantum break's story more. I think it's just cool, and all the great actors. I play that game because of the story mostly, so I enjoyed the tv show as well.
I really love Quantum Break, like the tv show, so much enjoy with it. Graphic is good, story is amazing, gameplay is fun and tv show is relaxible. I still keeping the copy of Quantum Break for Xbox One, I can't never forget the first time I'm played it when it just released.
Quantum Break is flawed but underrated. Control is one of the best games of the year and one of Remedy's best games. Also it looks and sounds better that Quantum Break.
I agree. I never actually played Quantum Break until I worked on this project. And I was hooked! Such a great story, and the visuals (aside from the blurriness and odd stutter during cutscenes) hold up incredibly well. Also.. gotta love those time bending powers
My Opinion Is That Control Is Better. It Has Reactive Environments, And Its Reality Met The Unexplainable, Scary (a lil bit) Edit: sorry when I posted I forgot to say another too. Continue. Telekinesis Is Much Better Than Time. (For me) The Moves for It is: Melee - Jesse Releases An Big Ol' Telekinetic Blast that allows Enemies, or objects to propel forward. As For Launch - Jesse Grabs an Object Propelling It To Enemies. Upgrading it allows you to grab low health enemies, upgrading it further more Makes you Grab Larger enemies. And larger objects too. Evade - jesse propels herself, avoiding projectiles or faster movement. Sheild - Creating A Debris of rocks or making nearest objects join the sheild. Upgraded and you'll be able to Launch those debris to enemies. Compel - allows jesse to mind control/fight alongside enemies. Levitation - Allows you to float up high. All the other abilities you got can be used while levitating... upgraded and makes you slam on the ground releasing a shockwave making objects destroyed or others can be shattered.
1:12 yes, the upscale Option was on, which makes everything really blurry in Quantum Break. It can be used, but for a Model Detail Comparison not using it might've been the better choice. Specially since you have DLSS disabled.
I haven't played anything made by Remedy since Alan Wake, mainly because that game felt more like a "movie game" than an actual game. Is this one more like Max Payne?
Yeah this is way more like the original Max Payne. The story is a bit more open-ended than the original Max Payne, but it feels veeeery Remedy. I'll have a full review next week after I finish it. I'm really loving it so far
after QB i was waiting for control to be released... and then when I played it i spend two days without having a clue of what was happening storywise.. anyone???
Exactly how I felt when I played quantum break the story had me hooked within the first five minutes and beat the story in a day loving every minute of it. so when I heard about control I was excited but one I actually played it I was completely underwhelmed. To me the story doesn't even compare to quantum break with me having no idea what I'm even doing from one minute to three hours in. My biggest hope is that Microsoft and remedy will continue quantum break and make quantum break 2 for this next generation.

JZStudios Damn, that sounds awful. I was thinking of picking it up because Control runs awful for me despite meeting the recommended specs. I also love games with time powers.
@@JZStudiosonline so you're saying that they are more fun in quantum break but also much weaker?
@@jgsource552 No. I haven't played Control to directly compare, but it often takes your powers away from you. QB also has a time freeze bubble that you "shoot" at enemies, but for some reason I could never use it reliably so I ended up just never using it.
I am currently replaying Control. This games makes me interested to play QB and revives my interest to play Alan Wake series which I only played briefly.
If you liked Control, you'll LOVE Quantum Break. QB is simply the superior game. Especially the story.
@@matthewsmith1779 unfortunately it's not the case. I found superpowers in QB are rather too gimmicky, and it's basically a shooter game. I admit the story is interesting. I may revisit the game sometimes in the future.
@@eriol33
The Powers in QB all flow together.
@@matthewsmith1779 ya gotta combine the abilities man or you arent gonna get anywhere its uber videogamey

Quantum Break is my favorite Xbox Game til this day! It's amazing, gameplay and story, both well done.
Its great! I wish more people played it!
@@AStarInAndromeda People are already looking forward to the game
Man why is your channel so underrated my god, man your comparisons are on point and better than most bigger channels ❤️👊
Did you make sure to turn off the upscale option in Quantum Break? It's near the bottom of the menu...
Turn that off and play it @ 4k ultra settings it looks incredible! 🤯
I recently got Control Ultimate Edition, and it was pretty awesome as hell, nothing I expected. Of course, I enabled Ray Tracing because why not? I've been meaning to check out Quantum Break and am looking forward to Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake and Control 2.
hope to see quantum break 2, this 2 games remind me of Second Sight game
Faras Wahyu there’s probably not gonna be one since the game didn’t do so well sales wise
@Kattos _ yeah but I mean they probably won't fund the second game since there is not a 100% chance that it'll succeed, its too much of a risk for remedy and Microsoft
@Kattos _ part 2 is the same thing as a second game so it wouldnt work. They will most likely focus on alan wake and control
@@amanfern Sales do mean nothing. They can make a remaster and a 2nd Part if they want and there's Gamepass
Should have turned off "upscaling" in quantum break for comparison. Makes a massive difference.
That's i t, I'm subbing you magnificent bastard. Your work is incredible
Always appreciate the work you put in these detailed comparisons. They are very interesting, keep up the great work and never stop, we need you to showcase how graphics in games improve with each passing year
Before I played Control Epic gifted it twice.... I finally asked my siblings whether it was a fun game and gave it a shot. I'm glad I did. I love it! I'm getting a bit of Stranger Things vibes with adults. So not pure horror, but actually a thriller. The type of genre I prefer. I dislike horror.
I'm a ps gamer since 7 yrs old but i quite like the quantum break too.

@@completelyhelpless3962 Frames per second squared. The fps is continuously accelerating.
I got bored of controls running up and down in the same building. Likewise the building was poorly designed. The environment in Quantum Break was more interesting and more varied. It was a better game overall.
I wondered if he disabled the "Uspcale" option in Quantum Break, because it actually makes the game run at a lower resolution.
It was blurry because you had the upscale on🤷♂️
I think the difference between good and bad visuals boils down to how the lighting is handled. It can really make or break the game :3
Why does all gun sounds in new games sound so muffled? It was like this in Division 1 over 2.
Mw?
@@AliEssa-oq7if haven't played the new one, so I can't speak on it.
Same for the new gears. Budget goes to graphics and multiplayer rather than the small detaila
@@acmotifs That sucks, especially for such a gruesome game.
Budget is the answer.
your channel is one of the best for comparison, nicely done video once again ! And what the hell with film grain ? These 2 games are grainy enough even without film grain lol
For quantum break, it has some weird upscaling on pc that's turned on by default.
This runs the game at a lower resolution, but performance is so much better
Quantum break on xbox one x doesn't even look that blurry. I can pull the camera in close and the charter is super sharp. Something looks off.
Yea the xbox one x put an end to that blurriness. I think on the x you can turn off motion blur on qb.
i still remember playing max payne 1, a masterpiece developed by remedy entertainment :)
Quantum Break on my Xbox One X dont appears this bored resolution. Look nice like Control.
Even those who didn’t like Quantum Break have to admit that the 2 scenes like at 4:13 where time was passing fast were pretty badass
It reminds me a lot of infamous, namely second son.
It’s so cool to see remedy’s genre range. From action noir shooters like Max Payne 2 to the Haunting Survival Horror game Alan Wake and now Mind Bending Sci-Fi shooters like Quantum Break and Control.
I think QB looks a lot better(besides the ghosting and downsampling).
I maxed QB in 4k with both a titan xp and an rtx 2080 and it looks incredible on both but the rtx 2080 did a better job in framerates.
I haven't played control a lot yet, but thus far I liked quantum break's story more. I think it's just cool, and all the great actors. I play that game because of the story mostly, so I enjoyed the tv show as well.
Control starts off as a bit of a drag but the story goes so deep once you get into it more.
Alan Wake. I fucking loved that game
Your comparison videos are always amazing. ❤️
20 years after Max payne I'm still waiting for these guys to remake it. Sigh.
They don't own the license. Take Two or Rockstar or 2K does. Thats why Max Payne 3 is so different.
@@Nick930 The only issue I had with quantum break was that it became repetitive over time. Shoot some people cut scene. repeat.
Great video. Thanks for your time in making these!!
NFS PAYBACK VS NFS HEAT
Flamethrower Bf and Cod
Heat will look better for sure
Both sucks
My Opinion Is That Control Is Better. It Has Reactive Environments, And Its Reality Met The Unexplainable, Scary (a lil bit)
Edit: sorry when I posted I forgot to say another too.
Quantum Break (Time) + Control (Telekinesis) = Gemini Heroes (Time & Telekinesis)
Highly recommend quantum break. Its $10 right now. I think this is a cimpany that Microsoft should buy; if they can.
No they should leave remedy alone
Please no!
1:12 yes, the upscale Option was on, which makes everything really blurry in Quantum Break. It can be used, but for a Model Detail Comparison not using it might've been the better choice. Specially since you have DLSS disabled.
Quantum Break story was way more Better than Control
The story of quantum break is GOLD
@@ArielAG19 agreed 😊❤️❤️
@@ArielAG19 me too...
@Eric De Lima Nope the story may definetely be original but QB was faaaar more interesting
Does anyone know if Quantum Break has a novelization?
Feels like Control’s sounds felt more compressed than QB but overall seems to be an improvement. nice comparison nick!
Quantum break is the best.
Just finished Quantum Break and really enjoyed it!
Love both!!! Quantum and Control are sooooo goood!!!!
I prefer Quantum Break way more than Control
I typed "Quantum Break vs Control" into TH-cam hoping against all hope. But I knew... I knew it would be you. Thank you Nick930.
after QB i was waiting for control to be released... and then when I played it i spend two days without having a clue of what was happening storywise..
Same, I don't want to discourage you but Quantum Break has a far better story.
Quantum Break is not really a masterpiece for me, but it's a really good game. I just wish it has less live action sections.
I only just found out that your logo is of a clock and not a sniper scope
I just replayed control, with the new series X version. That PC version looks incredible! I’m jealous
Control personally is soo boring I played about 20 min and stopped quantum break on the other hand I had more fun playing
