Wow I am impressed with the house! Daegu is a possible option for our next duty station and we’re totally open to the possibility! I like how spacious your place seems.
We lived in Daegu and really liked it, had a HUGE high rise apartment. But the air quality wasn't that great, which I wasn't used to. But lots of things to do! Now we're headed to the Osan area
You can also request the furniture that is in the home to be removed. Ours came with no furniture and we left a good proportion of our home furnishings back in storage in the States but you can also borrow things from ACS while you are in Korea. We stay right outside of Camp Humphreys CPX and Charleston gates.
What's the commute like to Humphreys? If you could give some insight it would be much appreciated :) I'm considering Osan or Suwon if I can live off base, personally
From Osan commute will be at least 40 minutes if you drive. Suwon is further away from Humphreys. The subway from Suwon or Osan will bring you to the Pyeongtaek station, but that is still a 12- 15 minute taxi ride to the gate of Humphreys and costs 12500 won as of now.
What kind of long term storage would you recommend in the U.S. where you can trust that your stuff is reliably stored well for a long time? The place I store now, rent keeps going up too. Any recommendations is appreciated, thank you!
We had an enclosed attached sun room right off the kitchen area. It wasn't heated, but it did have A/C. That's where we stored our bikes and other some other items. We had our lawn mower and other outdoor equipment stored in a long-term storage facility in the US before moving to Korea. I'm not sure what other people do with that kind of stuff if they live in apartments or villas.
I see you PCSed since this video (Korea to Netherlands, what a dream 🥹), but I was wondering if you bought your houseplants in Korea or if you were able to bring them with you. We went through the agricultural inspection process when we PCSed to/from Hawaii with my plants, but I’m struggling to find any info on Korea. If you know if it’s possible, I’d love to hear about it. ❤
Im a military wife and we are about to move in korean in 6 mos. I work as a nurse here in US and wondering if theres any job opportuniy for military wife to work there?
You can check the USAjobs .gov website for openings. From what I've heard, there aren't many jobs for nurses on base and some volunteer with the Red Cross.
You could bring your own washer and dryer, but I wouldn't recommend it because you may move into a place that runs on only 220v. I think it's better to drive your own POV if you're moving to the Camp Humphreys/Pyeongtaek area. It is possible to use taxis and the bus system, but the public transportation system in this area isn't built out like it is in the Seoul area so some places would be inconvenient and hard to get to.
It seems like a mix of an american and korean home, spacious and modern. Thanks for the open house.

Ohhh Daegu is a nice city with plenty of things to do! I think I would like living in Daegu better over living in Pyeongtaek where we were.

Thank you for sharing. 😊

Wow are you living in Asan? Looks exactly same as our house 😀
I am soooo glad I saw your video. Thank you I am PCSing with my family to Humphreys was wondering about POV. Can we ship both of our vehicles ?
Thanks! Usually, shipping only one vehicle is allowed. We shipped one car and purchased a used car when we arrived in Korea.
Where do you store outdoor type items since there seem to be few garages? I..e lawn mower, surfboards, kayak, bicycles etc. Thx!!

How much is rent there? How much is the BAH?
Rent was 2 million won
Where did you guys buy the storage unit that holds your silverware ?
We ordered it online from a website called otto.de when we were living in Germany about 5 years ago. It has been traveling around the world with us 😁

Hi! The Netherlands is amazing. Unfortunately, I don't know if it is possible or not. We didn’t bring our houseplants with us when we PCSed.
Are you or your husband an officer or high ranked enlisted? Cause that house is nice
wow
How much was this home a month?

Question. We're yall able to get this house due to his rank?
We paid 300,000 won (about $226 USD) extra per month over his allotment for rent based on his rank.
