This Blue Eyed Lucy is such a beauty but he won’t eat! #shorts #ballpython #snakes #reptiles #anaconda #sawa #snakefeeding #snakewonteat #royalpython #pets
I have three who are all, thankfully, voracious feeders but my normal will not touch a rat whatsoever. Pounds mice down like a champ, but never a rat. My pastel doesn't give AF - you put it in there, she's eating it.
I understand that pain ! I have a baby spider ball python (and surprise the breeder told me absolutely nothing about them and their issues!!!) So not only is she a picky eater but she cannot strike right to save her life because of her neurological issues. I had to assist feed her for the first few weeks. Now she will only eat hopper mice but at least it's something
Yes for that reason I stopped breeding spiders. Some come out perfectly fine but it’s just not worth the risk and customer satisfaction to me. I create wet specimens out of my hatchlings that don’t make it. One day I noticed how many were spiders and I decided that it was just not worth it. I have 2 adult males myself, and both have wobble issues. They are great eaters and good snakes but it takes them a few strikes to finally hit the target. They are pets now and I won’t use them in breeding projects.
Because the breeder most likely assumed that someone getting ready to buy a snake would have done research about specific morphs and their potential health issues? That is totally on yourself, mate.
I've heard of people scenting f/t mice in order to make the mice more appealing. Ball pythons in the wild eat African Soft Furs, so the mouse could be smelling off to your python.
If you have a consult first try them that there's what they normally eat there in Africa where there are native from good luck with the little guy and have a good day
Yeah I have a very picky eater she refuses anything that she feels doesn't suit her needs at that time it's how I ended up with 14 pet rats well was just 3 but one was apparently a fem and yeah so 14
Is this male or female? Curious also I would love to adopt a snake from you. I love snakes who are difficult and different from others. I am a huge advocate for reptiles and animals in all
@@Molinaro_Snake_Lab awesome thanks I been checking on there a lot. I am really waiting on your other female to lay eggs your special project. I would love to get a female. Is there a way to talk to you more and get more information. Thanks so much and I love your videos I can't wait to start my breeding journey in next 5 years.
I’m not sure. Sometimes it’s an internal health issue. Other times it just takes a while to get them to started. This one seems healthy just won’t strike.
99% of a ball not eating, is husbandry. temp, humidity, and security..........babies dont like big areas. give them somewhere to hide, a hot and cool spot and high humidity, and i guarantee they will eat.
I hope we will learn this little guys name eventually. I’m glad you’re not giving up on him. Thanks for the update and I’ll continue to hope for him.

Just for the smell

Yes! I’ve tried sending with the bedding and I’ve also tried chicken broth….no luck. 🤷♂️

Maybe he might benefit from a change in his exercise routine- a special more challenging environment that might trigger some snake instincts.

Is the failure to eat unassisted an inherited trait?

What habitat do you recommend for a ball python?
Why do you think the snakes just don't want to eat sometimes?
