Kit Armstrong spielt Haydns Capriccio Fantasia in C-Dur auf einem Hammerflügel von Dulcken

(English below) Der Hammerflügel war ohne Namen zu uns gekommen und vom Vorbesitzer dem Klavierbauer Andreas Stein zugeordnet worden. In der Restauration bei Edwin Beunk Fortepiano Collection stellte sich jedoch heraus, dass er mit großer Sicherheit von einem Schüler Steins stammt, nämlich Johann Ludwig Dulcken. Bei der Wiener Mechanik ist der Hammer direkt mit der Taste verbunden und es entsteht für die Pianisten das Gefühl, sehr präzise und nuanciert artikulieren zu können. Die Klangästhetik der frühen Wiener Komponisten war passend dazu auch eher ein „sprechender Klang“ als der „singende Klang“ der Romantik.
Als wunderbares Instrument aus der Zeit der Wiener Klassik spielt Kit Armstrong darauf ganz passend Joseph Haydns Capriccio Fantasia in C-Dur Hob. XVII:4.
Am 12. September stellte Kit Armstrong in Führungen die bedeutende Sammlung historischer Tasteninstrumente der Carl Bechstein Stiftung vor.

The fortepiano came to us without a name and was assigned to the piano maker Andreas Stein by the previous owner. However, during the restoration at the Edwin Beunk Fortepiano Collection it turned out that it almost certainly came from a student of Stein, namely Johann Ludwig Dulcken. With the Viennese mechanics, the hammer is connected directly to the key and the pianist has the feeling of being able to articulate very precisely and nuancedly. The sound aesthetic of the early Viennese composers was more of a “speaking sound” than the “singing sound” of Romanticism.
