Very cool! I love when you find that Civil War stuff because there is so little of it up here where no battles were fought, just a few bullets and buttons, or the occasional buckle. Thanks!
Steve…when you find a full shell with concretions, keep in mind that the shell could still be filled with black powder, which could still be highly explosive. Be careful, and I’d highly recommend that you contact Aquachigger or others with experience for advice on how to handle fully intact shells.
The method for detonating civil war artillery shells is vastly different than the method used today and I doubt after being underwater for 100 years that the black powder fuse and the black powder is still a viable explosive.
Wait you could have waited until Christmas to unwrap that thing. Now what are we going to unwrap for Christmas? Gigmaster I did see that shell on the table at your Civil war weekend. By the way ballpein hammer would work better.

GigMaster, "let me tap e tap tap in this thing that looks like an artillery shell"
Shell: Kaboom!

I have someone that drills those out.
Would you be willing to sell one?
No Kaboom. That’s good!!🤣🤣
As long as you don’t put heat on it it will not explode. Hitting it will not make it go off and no sand blasting.
Wow that's really cool
Awesome! That small one came out looking great!
If you are interested email me!
Something extremely satisfying about uncovering what's inside.
Those shells are super cool Gig!
Awesome job!!!! great finds Gig i enjoyed your video.
Interesting finds….Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
Have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU ALL

Agree! I am still careful when I get next to the shell but most are inert. I have had some powder still active inside!
Is it wise to be hammering an old artillery shell? Obviously you made but still
Aren't you a bit fearful that the "shells" being unexploded, might explode with a hammer rap? I mean, aren't they made to detonate on impact?
Most had a fuse ignited by the cannons explosion.
I hope you don’t find one with an exploding tip on it 😮 BOOM 😢
Dedicated to the late great GIG Master who found out the hard way the one was Live......LOL
Exactly what I thought
Very cool,like opening a gift!

Hate to loose you gig, but the luck runs out in time😮😮😮😮😮
I can't tell but at the tip of it it kind of looks like we're splitting half like a fuse might have went in there
No
Cool thanks!!!!
